Which signature for the most casual clothing

We are trying to not "check" suitcases with our airline for the eight of us during our May vacation. We are limiting everyone to some shorts, t-shirts and tennis shoes ( one polo shirt each for the guys) in order to fit things into their carry-on bags. I will have sandals.

I know Jiko and maybe even AP would allow us to feel comfortable in these casual outfits since they have each welcomed us twice before when we have been in t-shirts or polos and shorts. We were dressed up for FF and don't recall seeing others dressed in park attire. We are looking to try someplace new, however, and I am not sure that any of the other signatures (besides Brown Derby--been there done that) would make us feel as comfortable dressed that way. We have been to Cali Grill and have no interest in going back.

Please tell me if we would feel really out of place in sneakers, polo and shorts (guys), shorts, very casual blouse and sandals for me:

Citricos
Yachtsman Steakhouse
Narcoossee's

Of those 3 restaurants, I would feel most comfortable at Yachtsman in more casual clothes. The resort itself (Yacht Club) just has a more casual feel than the Grand Floridian.

Definitely NOT Citricos. Flying Fish at the Boardwalk is excellent and casual. Narcoosees too.

This was my first thought too. Citricos had probably the most well dressed of all the Signatures we went to last trip. No way, would I wear shorts and casual t shirt in there.:rotfl:

You will be able to enter any signature restaurant if you are not wearing torn clothing, cutoff shorts or swimwear. The men will need to refrain from wearing tank tops and it's said they'll need to take their hats off. Tee shirts are not prohibited unless they have a logo or picture deemed "offensive."

I know, I know...it's allowable. That's different than feeling really out of place.:worried:

I made the mistake last time of bringing my nice clothes for dinners. Nice restaurant or not, you're still at WDW and resort casual is fine in any of those restaurants you listed.

I haven't let how it feels bother me as long as it's allowed...did California Grill in khaki shorts, a tank top, hiking shoes and an Australian sun hat last year (tank tops and hats are OK for women) and as far as I can tell it didn't matter.

I agree--you won't be out of place at ANY of the Signature restaurants dressed as you propose. There will almost certainly be others dresed the same way. I've worn shorts, polo shirt and tennis shoes to Citrico's any # of times and never felt out of place.

We ate at Citricos and this is what we wore.

Do we look out of place?? That was just a cotton t shirt and long khaki shorts. My hubby had on cargo style shorts.

OK, here is the pic!

Great question. We don't pack 'smart' clothes when we fly over except on the first trip when we packed what we thought was casual and then looked inappropriately over the top for the entire trip.

Now my DH loves just wearing shorts and t for the entire holiday and not having the European stuffiness of 5* hotels dressing for dinner but I've spent the last three trips moaning that this means I can't go to a 'posh' resort meal. Having read this thread it seems we can - YIPPEE!!

He always has a couple of polo shirts and a couple of 'decent' pairs of shorts and I always take a couple of skirts and tops so looks like we would be fine.

thanks again.
