How do Bounceback offers work?

Hi there,

Can someone please explain how bounceback offers work. I was at WDW 10/09 but was not offered a bounceback. How would I know if one is available. Do I need to ask someone about it or will someone tell me? We were staying at BLT.

We are headed back to WDW in May and I would love to book a bounce back. Tentatively we would like to go back in Dec 10 but we are flexable on the month/dates. Is there anyway to know if bounceback will be offered in May? Should I ask someone about it while I'm there? We will be staying in a villa at SSR.

If you get a bounceback can you come back to a different resort or does it have to be the one you were staying at when you got the offer?

Thank you in advance for the info

Even if there was no bounceback offer in your room everyone says you should ask a housekeeping Cast Member or someone from the front desk for the bounceback paper, so that's something to keep in mind for the next time your there incase you don't have one. Now this past December when my family and I were at WDW we got a bounceback rate for this coming August and got 40% off the Atrium Club - Bay Lake View at the Contemporary. Also according to our bounceback sheet there were bounceback rates until December 24, 2010. However I am not sure if that has changed since we were there. Finally you can make a bounceback reservation for any resort category, so it doesn't have to be at the type of resort your already staying at and availability depends on how many rooms at each resort are set aside for a bounceback rate.

Shh! Don't tell anyone! If there's nothing in your room, and nothing on TV (check all the channels) and nothing here on the DIS on the Codes & Rates subforum, call 8844 from your room phone and ask if there's a BounceBack or Future Stay promotion available for __/__ to __/__

I hope you don't mind me jumping in here. But I am curious too. I was there 1/09 and got a bounce back offer but was not thinking of returning any time soon so I did nothing about it. Now we are planning on going back 11/10. Would the bounce back offer have been good for that time? How long are they usually good for?

I was at WDW 10/09 but was not offered a bounceback.
If you were staying at a WDW resort between 8/16-10/24/09 your BB offer was to be able to book a Free Dining package a year ahead for dates 8/15/10-9/30/10.

DISer TiffanyD kindly posted the flyer, which looked like this:

Mousesavers said about that offer (which is now expired)

2010 Bounceback Package Offer
This offer is available ONLY to guests who are currently staying at one of the official Walt Disney World resorts, and could end at any time.

Using a special phone number provided on a flyer provided in some resort rooms, you can book a vacation package (accommodations plus at least a 1-day Base Ticket) for stays on selected 2010 dates at a Walt Disney World resort and receive a FREE regular Dining Plan during your 2010 stay.

The dates currently being offered are 8/15/10-9/30/10. Not all resorts and room types will be available for all dates.

Reservation for your next vacation must be made before you check out (and on or before 10/24/09) to qualify, and there are no exceptions made. You must make a $200 deposit when booking.

If you don't get the offer on a flyer in your room, the resort TV channel may be showing this offer. You can also try asking the front desk and/or Housekeeping for a flyer*

*(added by me) Or just call extension 8844 from your resort room before check out to see if any BB are being offered.

We are headed back to WDW in May and I would love to book a bounce back. Tentatively we would like to go back in Dec 10.

I wish I knew about these when we went in October :confused3
Oh well, better late than never. I'll try to request one when we go back in December. Thanks for all the info.

Wow. I think I have missed some good offers and have been paying too much for my WDW vacations :(. So, if I understand this correctly, when i go this May 2010, i can ask for a BB offer and i may be able to get free dining or a discount for a trip in 2011? Sorry for asking again. I have never heard of this.

IF there is a BB offer going on in May when you are at a WDW resort, you can book it, but in May you might find that there might not be any 2011 BB dates to choose from yet. You probably would only be offered BB dates through December 2010.

Because (and this is just a guesstimate based on previous years) the BB's with dates for the next year usually don't start showing up until the guests start arriving for the Free Dining dates (in August-Sept/Oct), and those guests will probably be offered to be able to book a BB to book Free Dining a year ahead for the next years Free Dining dates (2011). Then when that offer expires, the next BB after that one (for resort guests Oct/Nov on) will probably have some 2011 dates.....

You never know though  Just remember to call extension 8844 from your resort room and ask!

wow I am so glad I am researching all this before we go in April. We are planning to go again in December so this is something I am really thankful to have found out about.

Thanks so much. I will cross my fingers!! And keep that ext handy when i go.

Do they offer the free dining each time for the bounce backs? We will be there in December, did any of you see a bounce back offer then? Thanks for your help!!

are you able to bounce back and stay in a different hotel? Is that the way everyone is able to try out different resorts all the time to find a favorite? I am going in April and staying in Wilderness Lodge, but would love to bounce back and try another resort just unsure as to how that works.

We were there in June '09 and on the look out for a BB offer. We were so excited that we actually got once, since we are planning another trip for Sept. '10. However, the BB offer we got was only for the remainder of '09. I can't remember what the offer was for, but we were mighty disappointed not to be able to use it. We were ready to go ahead and book immediately.

And I don't think the BB was only for the resort we were in...I think it was good for any Disney property.

We stayed in January in CBR and received a bounce back offer - but it was only for the room rates, not the free dining. We booked for POFQ, but if you wanted to move up or down a level (to a value or deluxe) you certainly could. I have read of guests who did not receive a flyer in their room and called Disney after returning from their trip and were still allowed to book.

You do not have to bounce back to the same resort you are staying at. :)

No, usually the free dining BB are only offered to guests staying during the normal free dining months (Aug-Oct). Based on past years, in December you will probably get a BB with reduced room rates on certain dates in 2011 to pick from, and those certain dates will probably be in Jan, Feb, March, May, June, Aug, Sept, Oct, 2011.

The italics are because you just never know with Disney marketing!
