Anyone else wondering about AP discounts?

I am looking for an AP discount for July. The GP discount has been out for a couple of weeks, and nothing for AP so far. Anyone else wondering if there will be a discount for AP holders? I am starting to have my doubts.:confused3

I am waiting too.....was hoping that March 1 would be the day, but it doesn't look like it afterall!

I know I am wondering when AP discounts will come out. I was lucky enough to get the 20/30/40 discount for most of 2010 so I have scheduled a few trips, but if the AP discount was better, I can save even more money. I find it strange that the GP discount came out before AP and even stranger that the AP discount hasn't even been released.

I keep checking daily, too!! I guess they feel they already have us on the hook and we'll come anyway. popcorn::

I'm still waiting also. I have something booked for August with the GP discounts but I can't get the dining plan with a room discount unless I purchase a 1 day park pass for each person. So, I need to wait to see if the AP room discounts come out so that I can get the dining plan. If they don't come out I guess I won't be getting the dining plan!

I am in the same boat, only we're booked with a bounceback rate for July. We want the DDP, but I'm not buying one day tickets for the 4 of us when we'll have just renewed our passes in April. So, I'm really hoping AP rates are out soon and that they are at least as good as our bb rate. (40% off)

We are planning on buying APs when we get there. One of the reasons I wanted to get them was for the resort discounts. If not, I might reconsider.

We are (not so patiently) waiting, too. Last week my DH called down to check if any deals out that we hadn't heard about and was "complaining" to the CM about the lack of passholder discounts. She kept saying that the call was being recorded and people do listen - kind of encouraging him to speak his mind. Hopefully something will come out soon....

I just called the passholder line (407) 560-7277 to ask about further summer discounts. (I have not been able to access website for days as the screen just keeps trying to refresh repeatedly). Spoke with a very nice CM who said rates not out yet. He said it shouldn't be too much longer, but since I have the general public rate already it probably wouldn't be much better. :confused3

If the AP discount isn't going to be any better than the GP discount, then what is the incentive to buying an AP? I would think they would want to take care of the AP holders since they know they will take more than 1 trip a year. Also, these other special offers they have going don't benefit AP holders. I hope this is not a new trend.

Yes, me too. Do AP rates usually work during Christmas vacation? Or has anyone had a bounceback during that week? We are going in June, but hope to return at the end of December. Never had an AP before :rotfl:

I know, but they have been having 20% off in most shops in all the parks and DTD (but not advertising it!!!) ASK. I did read here that it's been extended as well. There are other perks with AP like TIW and other discounts. I mostly buy it for entrance to the parks though, the room discounts in the past have been a little more than GP, but in it of itself dont' warrent the purchase of an AP for me. We couldn't even get the AP 45 % off on our recent stay at WL!! No rooms in the Woods view that we had booked (with PIN 40%) or a standard ever from when the AP rates came out until the day before we went!! I guess it goes to show that at times, the standard and lower costing rooms aren't included and they really were not in the first week of Feb for us. I wish the rates would be posted though, it's VERY odd since AP and FL res rates used to always be posted first.

No, AP discounts are not available after December 25th. We have gone to Disney for Christmas every year starting in '07 and AP discounts have been good through December 24, then start up again after New Years. Bouncebacks are blacked out during that week as well.

Subbing. I've been wondering the same thing. It was so odd when the GP rates came out with no AP discount.

Do you know if they are blacked out over Thanksgiving Weekend? :confused3 We have a BB booked from Nov 19-27th but it is not good for the last 3 nights. I just hate the thought of paying rack rate at BC for three nights! I also have an AP so I'm hoping a good AP rate, or possibly FD will help lower the price.

Honestly, I'm not sure. We never travel over Thanksgiving so I haven't ever checked it. Sorry! :sad1:

I would like to get AP discount for either of my trips- Aug for 11 nights or Oct for 7 nights.
I have booked both rooms but I would just love to be able to get dining also.
Looks like we will just have to pay out of pocket, its just so much easier to get it all on the room card.

Not sure about this year at Thanksgiving but last year, as long as our arrival was before the blackout date, we got the promotion for the whole trip. We were there from Sunday before THanksgiving until the Sunday after. I think the blackout date started on Wednesday. But we got the whole week discounted.

Also, I just booked the day after Easter for 5 days (April 5-9) and got the AP discount. I know these dates are blacked-out for GP. :woohoo:

But of course...you never know from one year to the next what they are willing to do!! So here's hoping for some GREAT fall discounts!! :wizard:
