Can anybody give me the details on the friends and family coupon that is given out if you book onboard?

I know it is for good for the exact cruise you booked - but what is the other details? Discount, OBC, good for only one cabin, ect.?

Thanks for any info.

Mine says....

Same sail date, $100 OBC 3/4/5 Night $200 OBC 7 Night plus.

Good for 30 days post cruise.

No discount quoted on my certificate....

One certificate per booking, ie one for one.

Thank you so much for the information. Hey the OBC is better than nothing!

We never received a coupon but we did book four rooms and put one member of our party in each room to maintain the 10% discount for each room. We will use these rooms to host a family reunion in a year and a half. I was thrilled to see the discount applied to everyone in the party assuming one member of the original cruising family was in each room!!! :)

If you book all of that when you are on the cruise ship itself you can do that, the F&F certificate is for 30 days after the cruise if anyone wishes to join you.

Its always better to book on ship, but if you do they should give you the F&F certificate.

I booked two future cruises while onboard my first Disney cruise in 2008 (ended up cancelling both) and one on my cruise this past December. NOTHING was said about a Friends and Family certificate. Is that a "don't ask...don't tell" kind of thing?

NO, wouldn't say that, if you re-book onboard, you should get one given to you, it was with my reservation stuff in August, have the certificate here, presume it depends on how overall sales are going. Had one certificate on each of my last two cruises.

As I said, twice I booked onboard and I got SQUAT.

You do not have to put one member of your current sailing party in each room to get the 10% booking discount. You can rebook on board in any name you choose-- but you have to pay the deposit for that person at that time and have all their info (name, date of birth, address). I've booked one cabin for myself and one cabin for someone not with us doing exactly this. IN ADDITION, we have gotten one friends and family certificate for each cabin booked. We've gotten these in 2009, I don't remember them in 2008.

The friends and family must be the same sailing that you are doing and gets the applicable OBC but not the discount rate.

So, if there are 2 of you sailing on a current cruise, you could book 2 future ressies and get 2 Friends and Family certificates, for a total of 4 bookings with OBC!

Could it be that only the Magic gives those and the Wonder doesn't? Leslie on the Wonder booked all of my future cruise reservations, and she has been there awhile.

Do not know, I have only been on the Magic, only because the Wonder normally undertakes 3/4 nights and they are too short, so I cant answer if the Wonder gives these out or not.

But I have had it twice on the Magic without request delivered to my stateroom with my on board booking.

Leslie is on my certificate for 09.

We booked onboard the Wonder in early February and got one then - it was in our stateroom the day after we booked. Our inlaws were traveling with us and did not book onboard - don't know if that would have anything to do with why we got one or not - maybe to entice them to book after we got off the ship? Who knows.

Leslie was on the Magic in December and gave the certificates then.

Leslie was also on the Wonder (12/6/09) in December and did NOT issue certificates to everyone who booked! Could it have been because it was a rebooking of a previously booked cruise?

Not sure which direction you were thinking - rebooking previously booked = no certificate, or the other way around, but we were rebooking a previously booked cruise and DID get the certificate. Have no idea - maybe it's completely random? We're relative newbies to DCL - would that make a difference, maybe?

That is interesting but wouldn't change our situation. We booked the four rooms and I think the 10% discount will trump the $200 obc. I believe we only got $100 obc for each of the four rooms since it was for the 5 nt. Dream. We did dish out close to $1,000 deposit but it will be paid at some point so why not just pay it now... Is the only incentive the $100 or $200 OBC for those certificates for friends and family? We know people that booked through some discounted cruise site and although the disney cruise price they paid was the same as the advertised price on disney's site, they got the $200 obc. So am I missing something about these certificates that makes people bummed they didn't get one?
