What is that one detail on the cruise that just does it for you?

I would like to know what little detail one the cruise that always makes you happy or puts you into good mood. That little detail is why you chose disney over and over again. Pics of the details are welcome.

The one that does it for me is the disney songs playing in the stateroom hallways. it's always great to wake up and walk out the room to hear "The Circle of Life" or "You got a friend in me" it always puts me in a great mood for the day.

Let me know what yours is.:)

What does it for me is the Disney Staff I love the fact the houskeeper cares enough to remember your name same for the waiters.

I'm going to say....exceptional service! Every CM everywhere on the ship acted happy to see us and greeted us even if we were just passing in the hall:love:

Agree, and the 99% of cruisers who are nice, leave a door open for you, reopen elevator doors, etc....

Palo staff remembering my exact name etc...

I know this may sound weird, but the bathroom attendants. The same person is there every time, making sure everything is clean and fresh. I always feel awkward hanging out waiting for DH, but the attendant makes casual conversation, and has an upbeat attitude. I don't think I could be like that hanging out at the bathroom all the time.

hearing the ships horn play "WHEN YOU WISH UPON A STAR...." that's all it takes!:cheer2::woohoo::banana::dance3:

The staff for me too. When we told the kids we were going on another cruise the first question they asked was will we have the same servers? Loved them!!! :love:

I went on my first Disney Cruise last June. While on board I was debating whether or not to rebook on board. Then something happened........I always tell people about the movie when Renee Zellweger says to Tom Cruise you had me at hello. Well Diney cruise line had me with the snow!!!!!!! I dont want to give anything away to anyone but if you have cruised you should know what I mean. Of course, the fireworks in the middle of the ocean werent so bad either!!!!

It is what happens at the very beginning. The name announcement when you board. We have found it really makes us feel welcome and helps set the mood for the rest of the cruise. When we sailed RCCL FOTS, there was nothing more than a simple "welcome aboard".

the welcome aboard announcement & everyone applauding - I feel they really appreciate me & the horn - LOVE the horn

Whoa! Only ONE detail? That's so hard to pick... Shall I say Castaway Cay, or the fancy-looking ships? I just like the whole Disney experience, the fact that I'm on a Disney ship. I remember when I boarded the Magic in Cozumel, there was a German AIDA ship right next to us loading passengers. We got JEALOUS looks from them:goodvibes. It's just a very cool feeling being able to cruise on a Disney ship.

OK, one detail I like about DCL: Being able to meet the characters. I love that. How could you not love cruising the Caribbean with none other than Captain Mickey? He's my fave cruise character and I made sure I got to meet him whenever he did a meet:

Yeah -- I agree with all that's been said - especially that I can't limit my response to "one" thing!

* Staff, happy guests
* The horn (but I'm lobbying for an additional horn to be installed for the sole purposes of the horn wars! :rotfl2: )
* Palos
* Serenity Bay
* The Theatrical productions
* THE DRINKS! :laughing:
* Being remembered by port staff as well as ship staff
* Watching the ocean go by from the upper decks & deck 4
* I've loved every stateroom I've stayed in
* Returning from an excursion to "home"
* While departing a port watching all those on other ships look and wave...with envy! :rotfl:

:)

It's not the reason i come back but the one thing that really stood out for me was we had Palo brunch and had a great time. When we went back for dinner later in the week we found that our server from brunch had made sure we got him again and sat at the same table.

I thought that was one of the nicest touches as he didn't need to do that.

My 14 yo DD says, just one thing?! She too can't narrow it down to one thing! The Disney experience is just over and beyond fun!
We love the horn, the sail away party, Clayton's "I'm on vacation dance", the CM always seeming to remember you individually, the Disney atmosphere everywhere you go, Castaway Cay, and my DD says she can't wait to have more pizza at Pinocchio's! LOL!
We have even had some negative things happen, but all the good has outweighed those things!

My two biggest things:

1) Hearing "When you wish upon a star" from the horn (I've been known to go to deck 10 forward at the sailaway party - just to get the full effect! :))

2) Having past servers remember us and say "Welcome Home" when they see us the first time that cruise.

Ok.... one more:

Having a past server break down in tears because we went out of our way to find him in another dining room. The dining room was empty of guests, and he was setting up for second seating, when he looked up saw us walking toward him. Lots of hugs all around.
