Just got the call from DCL. Got pixie dusted for the EBTA from cat 9 to a cat 5! (Only other time we had been upgraded was also on the TA; seems to be our lucky cruise!!)

Oh wow! that's great!! Congrats!!!!

I wonder if they are adding some cat. 12s like they did in the past.

Congrats! We're on that cruise too, and got upgraded from a 10 to a 5

Us too! We went from an 11 to a 6! Six weeks to go!

Good to see they are still moving people around. They've been 'placing' us for about a week now.

We're hoping when the dust settles that we can move from our far forward cat 11 to a more mid-ship location as my cruisemate has major motion issues! If not, guess we'll just have to keep her drugged up! :lmao:

We also received word of an upgrade today. We managed to go from a category 11, to a category 6 verandah. Woo-Hoo...this now makes it a total of 6 times that we have been upgraded out of 10 DCL cruises. Now all we have to do is get an upgrade for our January 2011 Panama Canal Cruise. Congratulations on your upgrade. We also are greatly looking forward to our eastbound transatlantic. Perhaps we'll run into each other. Have a great cruise.:thumbsup2

That's what I'm hoping for! However, I worry that the PC cruise will be full/close to full. We're in an 11B GTY and I told DH that if we did get upgraded, the highest we'd most likely get is OV. But I see inside to balcony here so I guess there is a chance, albeit a small one :goodvibes

Thanks for the congrats and congrats to the others who have gotten upgrades. Wanted to let everyone on the cruise know that they are still moving people around. The woman who called said they were trying to get them done within the next week so almost everyone will have their upgraded cabin number on their documents. So here's hoping we're going to hear of even more people getting pixie dusted on this cruise!

I'd say very small. The Panama cruise will be sailing with a much fuller ship than the transatlantic crossings.

We are on the TA and Med in April and booked when it first came out. We paid top dollar for our room -Cat 9 deck2 and whenDCL offered the $699 and $799 rates we tried to switch and were told we would pay a $1900 penalty plus lose the 10% discount!!!!!!!!. Now they upgraded the cat 11 to 9 and below for free. We did not receive anykind of compensation. I know they do not have to do it but there are a lot of us that got stuck this way. I always loved Disney but this has me thinking twice before I book again,

Dear Carmie3377,

you may possibly get upgraded. I just checked the DCL site and there are lots of empty rooms available. (categories: 4,5,6,7,9,10,11 plus the subcategories A,B,C). Just keep checking with the DCL, Mousesavers.com, VacationsToGo, and of course the disboards & Dreams Unlimited. Like I said, we have been upgraded on 6 out of 10 cruises so far. We kind of have a system, and so far we've been lucky. Good Luck!:thumbsup2

I've been getting emails from my TAs regarding the $ for the EB. This is what I got the first week of Feb.

Rates Start at $50 per person, per day based on double occupancy for a Category 12 on the 14-Night Transatlantic Cruise, April 10, 2010 ($699 per person taxes additional). That is a total of $1498 in total for a party of two including all port charges and government fees.

This is making it very tempting. So that is the reason for all the upgrades. They did this on the First TA and many of my friends booked the cruise and all got upgrades. Hope everyone does as well. It is a great trip. Loved the trip reports and if it wasn't for the airfare I would have done it myself. I really need some "Magic" now. Haven't been since the EBPC on 2008.

Anyone in a Cat 12 get a call yet? We downgraded from 11 to 12 to save money for a port upgrade if need be, but I've got my fingers crossed for a free upgrade. If they were to offer one, do you think they'd upgrade to a 7 or 8?

We were upgraded from an 11GTY to a 6 but we never got a call. I found out about the upgrade when I checked my reservation on the DCL website. You just have to create a user account, but it's an easy process and you could check right now!

I went thru DU. Everytime I check DCL's website, it doesn't list anything about my reservation. Checked DU's website again, but I'm still listed there as Cat. 12.
