Frozen Mickey - worst kept "secret"

OK, so the frozen Mickey bars from room service has got to be the worst kept 'secret' of Disney cruise line. Seems like everybody knows about being able to get the frozen Mickeys from room service! We heard about it (I think I read it on-line here) before our second cruise and have gotten them ever since...and yet they are still not listed on the menu?

So why does DCL keep this a 'secret'? Is it a gift to DU? Is it to keep the Mickey bars 'special'? Or is it just a high-dollar item for DCL to buy and stock?

~Mike

There are also the Mickey rice crispie treats on a stick that aren't on the menu, but I ordered them from room service a couple of times. Sometimes got chocolate covered ears, sometimes plain. I never specified which I wanted...

I had my first Mickey bar from room service on the Wonder in December. I ordered them 3 out of 4 days, and also chose that for dessert on my last night at dinner. :teeth: I wish I had known about them on my first Disney cruise!

At WDW, I always need to have at least one Mickey bar & Mickey waffles. It's nice to know I can get them on the cruise as well!

It's deff to keep mickey bars special. Regardless of the fact everyone can order them, don't you feel a little happier inside, when you call up room service, and order something not on the menu? It's just to make the kids and kids at heart feel special.
I'm 20 and it always makes me feel special when I order them. :goodvibes

Any other cool things to order from room service that might not be on menu?? can you get fresh fruit for the room??

There is a fresh fruit cup on the menu. I wouldn't be surprised if you meant you wanted a piece of fruit that you may be able to have that.

My one twin son loves fruit cups and my DH loves a nice piece of fruit. I was thinking that they might have some nice fruit we don't typically get at home ~ mango, papaya etc...

Are they ice cream bars?

Sayhello

Most everyone that has been to WDW knows these as being the same ones that they offer there. They are dipped in "Dove" chocolate! Yum! They are listed on the dining plan as a "snack option" and are listed as being called the "Mickey Premium ice cream bar." Yummy !!! Hope you get to enjoy one soon ! :cutie:

You can also order the Smuckers "Uncrustable" PB & J sandwiches. Great to keep in the cooler box for a little anytime snack, especially for little ones, but even better to order to take on an excursion. We've been doing that since our first cruise in 2002 and they are still not on the menu..... I don't understand that menu at all

I thought it tasted like a Dove bar, although the wrapper said it was a Nestle ice cream bar. I paid $3.50 for one at WDW last month.

No, they are NOT Dove ice cream, they used to be, but they are now Nestle. Dove is owned by M&M Mars.

Personally, I hate them now and will leave them all for others.

Yumm! Sounds like a great treat. I will definitely have to remember to order them once or twice ;) while I'm on the Magic!

You don't like Nestle (the company), or the bars are a lot different from Dove? I thought the Nestle bars were great.

I liked the ice cream when it was Dove, I tried the Nestle one and it was not as good ice cream wise, plus I don't like chocolate, so I pick it off anyway.

I don't eat much chocolate, if I have a choice I turn it down. I wish someone could make caramel hard like the dipping chocolate, then I would eat them all. Probably a good thing there is no such thing, LOL.

Me too! ME TOO! :lovestruc I say put Mickey w/o choc in a bowl and drown it in caramel. Yum!!! :worship: Hey...do you know that Milky Way bars now have a all caramel. They are good even though there is chocolate on the out side. :thumbsup2
