Goofy Proposes, Fi Falls for Sleeping Beauty & we Celebrate our Engagement NEW 6/18!

OK! all caught up!
I really thought I made a comment around page 7 about WS and the beautiful tree...
I really need to remember the trains for Ashton and Danny, looks like a fun but quick trip through WS...the food at San Angel looks delish, I have heard so many things. You are one brave cookie doing Mission Space (I may try the green version this year--I chickened out last year).

The extra touches for your engagement was awesome! and just that extra spark of magic, that makes it all worth it.

I have ressies for LeCellier but we are going to cancel it will just have to wait until our next visit...now that we have our entire group going.

I can't wait to take Ashton to Donald's safari bfast, I just wish Minnie was there. AND that was just too cute and special that you have become engaged to Goofy :goofy:

:wave2:Connie

Aw, Courtney, that's such a cute story, and so glad you got lots of pictures of the "proposal"! :goodvibes

We ate breakfast at Tusker House last May---loved that juice! :thumbsup2

It's definitely a moment I won't forget! :cloud9:

Wasn't that juice tasty? I could go for some now! :thumbsup2

What an adorable moment with Goofy!!!! I love those moments :goodvibes

I saw the Winnie the Pooh characters from the bridge too!! My daughter asked to go see them, but I thought it was part of Tusker House or a private party or something :lmao: We ended up following the Winnie the Pooh trail and getting to meet them!! I LOVE LOVE The pic of Winnie waving to you! You had SUCH a great day at AK with the characters!

That picture of Pooh waving is one of my absolute favorites from the trip! :goodvibes It was such a nice surprise looking down and seeing him waving to us! :cloud9:
I so wish we had of actually gone down to meet Pooh :sad2: I was sad we didn't get to eat with him this time. Ah well, next time I suppose. :rolleyes1

That's such a cute story! I love when the characters play along!

Thanks! :goodvibes It definitely makes character interactions special when they really get into it! Luckily we had a lot of that this trip!

The food at the cantina was SO good! I was not expecting it to be my favorite CS of the trip but it was! :thumbsup2

:rotfl: At Mission Space! The green really isn't that bad. If you're at all claustrophobic I wouldn't recommend it since its a teeny tiny little space but "thrill" wise - it's not too thrilling. Now the Orange - I am not brave enough for that!

We had so many wonderful surprises for our engagement! I was blown away by how they went above and beyond at the hotel, the
restaurants...everything was just magical. :lovestruc

Oh, Im sad you have to cancel Le Cellier - but at least you get something to look forward to for the next trip. :goodvibes

Too cute, your Goofy proposal was. We have never eaten at Tusker House, but I may try it next time we go.

Definitely try Tusker House! Both the breakfast and the lunch there were great! There's no characters at lunch but food wise I think it's an excellent choice anytime :thumbsup2

lovely pics:) i may suggest tusker house for breakfast to my parents when we go on our trip in may=]

Thank you! :goodvibes You must suggest TH - it was SO yummy and lots of fun!

Goofy pulled some fast ones on my DD. We have her on video & photo pass pic almost crying from laughing so hard. He was kissing her and wouldn't stop.

Ah, that's hilarious!!! :rotfl2: I think Goofy is definitely the best character when it comes to interaction. He may not be my favorite character but he's consistently my favorite to "meet".

Loving your TR! Going with my DH in April and we have very similar meals planned. It's great to see that you both have pictures taken with the characters. I was afraid I'd be "hogging" time with them... since we're adults!

Keep the updates coming!!!

Found your Trip Report and am loving it. Your ring is beautiful. you should try and convince your Fiance to do a Disneymoon. My husband and I took one back in 2008 and loved it! It was so much fun! Can't wait to hear more about your trip!

We do LOTS of character meals and we absolutely love them! We always have so much fun. The only meal that I thought I might feel slightly out of place at was the Akershus Princess breakfast but once we got there I spotted a few other couples with no children. Plus, it was our favorite character meal :thumbsup2

:welcome: and thank you so much!

I am definitely considering a Disneymoon and for now FI is on board! The more I think about it the better it sounds :cool1:

DAY 3 – Pt. 2

After our lovely breakfast with Donald and pals at his safari, we headed over to the other safari – Kilamanjaro Safari of course!

I was a little nervous that the safari might have a long wait since it was already about 11:00, but thankfully we pretty much walked right on! :thumbsup2

I just love this ride – it's so peaceful driving around, looking at the animals and I like how every time it’s a little bit different. It’s also a great ride for tired feet since it lasts for quite some time!

This giraffe came so close to our truck you could have touched him!

The safari, of course, was great. It always inspires me to go on a real safari one day – I think I would really enjoy it!

I must say though, the ride isn’t quite as impressive when you are able to see so many of the same animals from the comfort of your hotel room.

Along the way to our next destination we had to stop for FI to play the African drums – another thing that would keep him occupied all day. :confused3

And then we stumbled across a lone Ant and had our picture taken. FI actually did not know who Flick was and asked me why in the world I wanted a picture with an ant. I told him because he had no line and he looked lonely! :lmao:

Finally, we made it to our destination…back to EE of course! It was time to use our fastpasses from earlier!

The first ride of the trip is always the best, be we enjoyed our second time nonetheless.

Up next was DinoLand USA.

We decided to take a ride on Dinosaur and thankfully, we were able to pretty much walk right on to this one as well!

We ended up in a vehicle with an abnoxious group of teenageaged boys who decided to scream throught the entire ride. So annoying. Needless to say, I was pretty happy when it was over.

By this point, the walking from the previous two days was starting to catch up with me and I was kind of over AK. As much as I LOVE this park, there’s just not that much to do there, ride wise. We don’t really care to do the trails where you see the animals and we also don’t spend a lot of time doing shows.

So we decided to head out, but first, FI wanted to stop for a spin on Primeval Whirl. Now, I will say the first time we rode this ride (during our trip last year) I did enjoy it, but I really was not into it this time. Plus, the line looked really long and my feet were aching by this point. Still though, we hopped in line.

This was the only ride of the trip where we actually had a “long” wait – which was actually only about 35 minutes. We have been really fortunate on all of our trips with low wait times which is so nice. I remember as a child waiting for an hour or more for some of the Fantasyland rides at MK – now 30 minutes seems too long!

Primeval Whirl was kind of a let down after our “long” wait. On the way out, FI stopped to take a picture of these guys

Finally, it was finally time to head back to our savannah paradise!

UP NEXT: I finally reveal the reading from my pedometer after 3 days of walking at Disney! Also, we face an evening with no plans - wherever will we end up? :rolleyes1

Love the safari ride!!! Great pics of the animals.

I LOVE EE!!!! What an AMAZING ride :lovestruc

Dinosaur on the other hand...yikes! I was so scared I closed my eyes the whole time :lmao: Def. would have been worse if there were teenage boys screaming on the ride as well. Wait until you see the pic of my daughter and I riding...you will crack up!

Can't wait to see your steps in WDW! I am so anxious to hear about it. Also, what to do with a free night? How great :thumbsup2

Love the giraffe picture!!!

Sorry Dinosaur was ruined for you. I love that ride!

Your waited 35 minutes for PW? You are a trooper. I would never. 35 minutes for lots of spinning

I bet you are up to a good 20 miles at this point

Isn't EE awesome?! :thumbsup2 I'm always so proud of myself after riding it because I do not do roller coasters at all - but for some reason I just love EE!

:lmao: at Dinosaur! I find it to be kind of jarring, but enjoyable. However, the first time I rode it I was at Disney for my birthday so my whole family was there and you should have seen our picture then! My mother's face was HILARIOUS! I can't wait to see how yours turned out!

I'm excited to finally share my steps! :yay:

Never again will I ever wait that long for Primeval Whirl. :headache: Needless to say, when I got off of it I was done for the day. Ugh. I think its a one time kind of ride.

As for the step, I don't want to reveal too much :rolleyes1 but it was quite a bit more than 20. I can't wait to share!

I think our "best" day we did like 12 miles one day (this of course was pre-Aisling). I should do it in May and see what we do now. It's so funny how the fun of Disney makes you forget how much you are going. If someone asked me to walk 12 miles right now, I'd laugh at them :rotfl:

It was nice that you are able to take a break from all of the walking. The last time we went I had blisters on my feet from going comando:eek:. Looking forward to your next update - with no plans.

Cute pictures with the ant. I have never rode EE or Dinosaur. I usta love roller coster but have gotten more chicken as I grow older. Maybe one day I will try them.

Sorry about Dinosaur but at least EE was fun. I'm still scared of riding that thing more than once. We'll have to see how it goes when we get there! I'm glad the Safari went great! I hope this time we get to go on it! I know I live really close to the San Diego Zoo but this is totally different!

I can't wait to eat at the Tusker House now!!!

You look so happy in those pictures, I'd never guess your feet were bothering you! (Though maybe you are happy because you are sitting down? haha!)

I can relate to your thoughts on AK. Though each time I visit, I start to like it more and more. Now I really enjoy my time there. Though we do tend to spend less time there than any of the other parks.

A free evening in WDW? that is so exciting, can't wait to see where you end up!
