After Weeks of Debate, We've Finally Made Our Resort Decision!

Ok, everybody-- my family and I have been discussing which resort to stay at for weeks now (probably longer.) We are going with 6 relatives, so we were trying to take into account their wants/needs as well as ours. We had it narrowed down to 4 resorts-- AKL, WL, BCV, or CBR. Shortly after we narrowed it down to these four, WL standard rooms were sold out, so we eliminated that one. BCV was sold out soon after, so unfortunately that was gone (we were strongly leaning towards it). So that left AKL and CBR-- We all decided that we prefer a more beachy theme and that AKL was too dark, etc. so that left CBR. So we thought CBR would be our choice-- then we started talking about how we really wanted to try somewhere new. So we brought up OKW-- we ultimately decided against it though.

SO, this morning, we logged on to the Disney website, and we saw that BCV was available!! We were so excited-- so we got our family together, and began booking. Well, we were able to get one room, and that was it. We needed three. So we were really disappointed. Finally, just about an hour ago, we made our reservations at the BWV. We're not too excited about our decision because we were counting on the BC, but we're hoping we like it. Please, anyone, tell us we'll like the Boardwalk! Give us the pros of it (and maybe some cons, but keep them to a minimum :rotfl2:) Thanks!

I owm a DVC at Boardwalk and I love it!!!!
All pros to me-
1. location, location,location!!!
2. Size of rooms- large
3. Great restaurants on the Boardwalk
4. Love to walk short walk to Epcot for dinner.
5. Fun theme pool and quiet pool (community room for kid's activities).
6. Can walk around the Boardwalk at night and watch the entertainers and enjoy an icecream cone!!!!

Thanks-- Sounds great! The location of BC and BW is one of the major pluses we considered.

Congrats!! :goodvibes We are doing the BWI for the first time in November and we are very excited! :cool1: We are looking forward to the bigger rooms, the fabulous location, the pool/slide, all of the great restaurants in the area, the entertainment, the awesome BW atmosphere, and just everything really!! :yay:

Thanks- that's right, you're trying the BW too! I'll be sure to write a trip report when we get back, and I'll see how my family and I like it in comparison to CBR! I'm sure it will be great.

You definitely won't be disappointed. We have been staying at the BWV for years and love the resort. Being able to get to two parks easily and all the restaurants in the area is great. All the villas have been renovated so you will be getting a nice new villa to stay in. The BWV have better views, no matter what category you reserve. The biggest difference is the pool but we love the pool at the BWV and it is very kid friendly. You will actually wonder when you get there and see how great it is why you were ever not sure of your choice. We are headed back in Aug. and can't wait.

If I couldn't stay at Beach Club, my second choice would be Boardwalk. The location of these resorts is fantastic. There is so much in the area that you can walk to. It is a fun place to be when not at the parks. Lots of choices for dining. We have friends that own DVC at Beach Club but choose to stay at Boardwalk every time. Hope you love it!

I missed this (unfortunately, my brother is in critical condition at the hospital and I've been there a good deal of time), I'm glad you guys were able to come to a decision and hope that it turns out great (I'll look for your review).

We've never stayed at the Boardwalk but the location is fabulous!!! We've stayed at the Beach Club and the Dolphin and love that location.

Thanks-- I'm so sorry to hear about your brother- I'm sure you and your family will stay strong and get through it. And thanks to everyone else for all of your reassuring comments about the BW!

We just returned from the Boardwalk and we absolutely loved it. Having that boardwalk to just walk around, grab a snack or a drink, or shop was really nice in the evening after parks closed. We always saw some sort of entertainment out there.

You can see Spaceship Earth in the distance from the Villas side, and we watched the high fireworks over the ESPN club one night. Lovely lobby, great staff and the community hall at the Villas was great for my daughter. She did some crafts and made a keepsake pillowcase souvenir. The staff there was great, too.

We're trying them all, but BWV is definitely on our list of places to return to. :thumbsup2
