Pickle part III

I'm here!!! party:

Yes... I have Thin Mints! 8 cases to be exact. And another 15 cases of the other varieties. My co-leader calls me the money ho because I'm always trying to pimp my cookies.

Tracy... sorry about the migraine. Those things do suck! I'm still fortunate enough for Excedrin Migraine to work most of the time. But when it doesn't I take Immitrex. Hope your feeling better.

Kathy... hope Markie did good in his matches. Enjoy your trip anyway!

Heather... YAY for school! My kids were only home for 3 days, so I'm feeling bad for you. The worst part for me was that they had already been home for 5 weeks for their break. They went back for 3 days, then missed 2 because they were sick. They went back for 5 days, then had a holiday. They went back for 4 days, then had 3 snow days. All I want is for school to go back in session and give me a full, uninterupted week! Won't be this week, because they have early release tomorrow. :sad2:

We have been quite busy around here between Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. I haven't had a free weekend since Christmas. (I don't count the weekend we were snowed in because I ended up with the stomach bug!) Tucker went on his first ski trip last weekend with scouts. Apparently he is a natural. His leaders refer to him now as the "Fireball on skis." I can't decide if that makes me proud or terrified! But he had fun and didn't break anything, so I guess we are good.

I'm off to bed. I haven't been sleeping well lately, and am purely exhausted. Chat with you all tomorrow!

Well well well. She's ALIVE!!! Good to see you dahling. :) You have been a busy little bee. Tsk tsk. Time to take some time for yourself girl. You can't burn the candle at two ends for long. Trust me, BTDT and I fried myself because of it. I hear you on the not sleeping part. I'm in the same boat. It's getting worse and worse. I also have nightmares most night as well. It's utterly exhausting.

Tucker is one brave soul trying out skiing. There is no way on God's green earth I would get on two planks heading down a hill at a gazillion miles an hour with no brakes except for my butt or head. Nu unh. /me = chicken! Bawk bawk! And... you can just keep your yummy GS cookies. I'm on a diet and they are evil. It's nice to see you, Kari.

Well, there is no school for us today. Hold me. This is only our second snow day for the school year so I can't complain. I remember as a kid missing about 10 school days due to storms. The weather has certainly changed over the years. We used to jump off the roof of the house into the snow, too. Those were the days. It's a wonder we never got hurt or buried alive. I should scan some old pictures. I've got some doozies. heh

Happy hump day!

I made it!!!
Been a bit stressful and busy around here but I am here.

Emily is feeling bad this morning. She was going to go to school with me, but jsut told me she doesn't feel good enough to go. She is bored to death.. after being home since before Christmas first with the mono and then Christmas and then all the snow we have had......

Glad we are all here. I'm thankful to have you all. xoxoxox K

Jumping off the roof into the snow??? :faint: I would have never had the guts to do it! Course, it's a miracle if we get more than 6 inches!

Kelly... sorry to hear that Emily is still sick. I feel so bad for you and everything you have been going through lately. Hopefully things will start to settle down and bit, and you can get back to normal.

I'm sitting here trying to avoid the inevitable... the laundry and the dishes screaming at me from the kitchen. This AM I had to go digging through the dryer to find socks for everybody. :sad2: As long as I can get a little of it done before my naptime...!

Kelly!! Yay. Another stray! :) I know you've been going through a rough time and I am very sorry. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Four more months for your Disney fix. I am sure you are all very excited. I'm excited for you!! Let the planning begin. Ressies? C'mon girl. Spill it.

Kari, I just finished the dishes, cleaned the kitchen and did two loads of laundry. The bedroom is next if I don't fall over from sleep deprivation. These four o'clock mornings are killing me! :sad2: I am so tired. The snow and wind are picking up. I am so ready for winter to be over. And yes, we jumped off the roof. :upsidedow

You're very ambitious this morning! You should come down and help me out a bit! I haven't done either yet. :rolleyes1 I got sucked into a couple of threades on the Community Board. Then DH calls and yells at me because HE got pulled for expired tags, because HE forgot to pay the tax bill before Christmas! And this is my fault how...? So then I have to find his tax bill and pay it over the phone so he can go to DMV and straighten it all out. :headache: And here it is my naptime... so I have to decide just how badly I want clean socks for the AM?! LOL

Screw the socks! I hate socks and rarely wear them. Matter of fact, I wear clogs and Birks all winter. hehehe Thanks for reminding me about the tags. I have to renew mine this month. They don't send us a notice anymore (trying to save the trees I guess) so it is our responsibility to remember this and go online or DMV to renew. Yup, looks like our police are going to be very profitable this year. *eyeroll*

No naptime for you!

Hi Kari and Kelly!!! Glad you made your way over here!

Now we just need Christine and Janet!

Happy Hump Day, Pickles!

I'm exhausted too...haven't been sleeping well.

:grouphug: to you all.

I'm glad to see more Pickles have arrived. Hooray!

I'm having a really bad day, so I'll probably not post until another day or two frequently, but here is the news on what happened yesterday with Markie:

Well, unfortunately, life really sucks sometimes and doesn’t go the way you expect.

Mark did not get to wrestle yesterday due to a technicality. I still don’t understand it, but I can tell you I’m really ticked off. I don't know who is to blame -- the coach responsible, the IIAC or the NCAA. Mark wrestled 141 for awhile after having started the season there and then going down to 133 (and back up to 141). They "supposedly" followed the schedule of when Mark had to make a certain weight each time to go back to 133. Well, according to them, Mark would have had to weigh in at 133 on Sunday (the 14th) and therefore could not weigh in at 133 on Tuesday. Hence, he did no get to weigh in and wrestle. To say he is devastated is putting it mildly. And looking at the bracket of where he was placed, he would have qualified for Nationals with taking no worse than 3rd place. The coaches said they would try to get him a redshirt so he can wrestle next year but I don’t even know if he wants to now. He said he didn’t want to go another 10 months of preparing for what should have only been the last three weeks. I told him not to make any hasty decisions and sleep on it for awhile. In the meantime, we'll start looking for doctors for his ankle and knee surgery and get him healthy.

Kathy, I saw that on facebook!
It stinks!!! So not fair!!!!
Why couldn't they just weigh him both days??? Does it really fluctuate that much?
:grouphug:

Oh Kat. I love you.

I am so so sorry. I'm here to listen whenever you are ready. We all are. You know that. You gave great advice to Mark. I am sure that once the sting of all this settles, he'll decide to go back to what he knows and loves.

I wish I could make you feel better. Huge hugs for you all. And kisses too.

Well, I had a big pickle yesterday, but we got it fixed so quickly.

We were supposed to go down from 7/2-7/11 but I am thinking that with Emily's surgery, she might not be ready to go then, so we changed our reservations.... quite easily, I might add.... to 8/1-8/8. Not as many days, but I am worried about her.
The recovery from this is going to be hard. She won't be able to raise her arms above her head or turn her neck.
Jeff and I just decided this was better in the long run.

I had to completely redo our dining reservations and no one wanted to talk about it so I just did it. Here is what we have:

Arrive 8/1 - Dinner at 1900 Park Fare 6 PM - Lily's request
Monday 8/2 Dinner at Boma 5:05 PM going to AK EMH even though I think it could be nuts--- never been there at night.
Tuesday 8/3 - Sci Fi 6:00 PM - all kids wanted this.. Jeff is not excited but who cares??????
Wednesday 8/4 Akershus 5:15 PM - Again for Lily... she will only want princess meals for a little longer.
Thursday 8/5 10:00 AM Supercalifragilistic B'fast- this is our off day Lily loves Alice in Wonderland... or Allison Wonderland as she is called here at our house :)
6:30 PM Teppan Edo - This is Emily's request
Friday 8/6 O'hana 5:30- Baylie's request, but we all like this one a lot.
Saturday 8/7 Biergarten 6:00 PM - Jeff's request
Sunday 8/8 O'hana B'fast 9 AM - This is a tradition we have to have b'fast somewhere before we leave. Kinda like a goodbye kiss LOL

So, we have never eaten at 1900 Park Fare for dinner before. We have had the b'fast but it was in that other room the year they were refurbishing so we have never had the buffet b'fast.
I have had Boma, but no one else has. Jeff and I have been to Sci-Fi, but it has been a LONG time. It will be a first at Teppan Edo and Biergarten for us. Other than that, I guess we have some favorites that we keep going back to like O'hana :)

I gotta change my ticker now....

We have done Beirgarten and 1900 for dinner, and both were excellent! Beirgarten is one of the few restaurants that my kids have requested to go to again. Character at 1900 dinner was the best we have seen at the character meals. We took Avery to BBB before the meal, and she was wearing her Cinderella dress. Fairy Godmother was talking to her like she was the real Cinderella, the mice kept coming over to play with her, and Prince Charming asked her to dance. Food was incredible at both, but Beirgarten was better. The cooked cabbage smell at Beirgarten takes a bit to get used too, though!

Will Emily be healed enough for a vacation by that point? I know it will be hard on her if she can't ride the rides and such when you go.

Wow, Kelly. Poor Emily and poor you. I hope she is healed and well enough to enjoy Disney. Here's hoping for a speedy recovery. Your ressies look fabulous. I'm with Jeff on Sci Fi. LOL. Never again. Raw hamburger. :crazy2: Yeeuck! So you are going twice this year. Yay! Good for you guys. God willing, we'll be there at Christmas, too. We are spending Christmas in Largo at my parent's house. Not sure if we are driving or if they are flying us down. (tix would be our gifts) I hope to get a few days in at Disney considering Cassidie's first trip there was a complete bust. We shall see. Fingers crossed! pixiedust:

I am excited about going, but I am concerned about Emily. There is not a lot of information online about recovery from the surgery, but the neurologist told us that she would be sore at least six weeks. We might end up cancelling, but for the moment, pushing it back was a good idea.

We are going to go back at Christmas. We got 200 extra points when we bought DVC and so we are going to go for a few days because we have never been at Christmas. Our dates are December 19-23. We are going to stay at the Boardwalk and we might have company. I have mixed feelings about that, but the kids really want them to come.

Tracey, maybe those dates are the same as yours :)

It might be a good idea to cancel. Just play it by ear and let her make that call when the time rolls around, maybe?

And yes, those are the same dates as us. We would arrive in Tampa the 17th and then drive up to Orlando with my parents and stay five nights and back to their place for Christmas and New Years. That's *if* we fly. If we drive - no freakin clue. It would most likely be after Christmas that we would stay. At this point, I'm not even sure if we would be staying on property as there will be five of us. If we are there at the same time, we'll have to meet if only for a few moments. ::yes::

Cassadie is still young enough for the trundle bed at POR, isn't she? You could also stay in the cabins at FW. I hope you get to fly... I can't even imagine how long it will take you to drive from BFCanada to Largo!
