Hey everyone!
So heres my story (the short form anyways)... A few months back I hurt my knee (which have always been sore anyways) but never did anything about it fast forward to the end of jan. i fell down a flight of stairs because of the knee i never did anything about.. finally did something about it and went to my doc who refered me to an ortho who wrote me a script for PT. It turns out I have arthritis in both my knees (I'm 27) and my left knee cap is not in the correct place its floating or something so I started PT this past week and have been feeling great about finally not being in pain (granted I still am in tons of pain but I contribute a lot of it to finally working on it) I went to the gym last night and did 21 minutes on the bike which was fine but I also want to incorporate other stuff but I cant really do anything high impact on my knees... does any one have any suggestions? I have a Wii and sporatically would use wii fit and the EA active but i couldnt really do it for more then 10 minutes cause it would hurt to much... I'd love to do water areobics but joining a pool or another gym is so darn expensive I cant afford 45 dollars a month for the YMCA...
My goal is to get down at least 3 sizes... im thinking a reasonable time line is by next fall...
Thanks!

what about the elliptical? That's my favorite way to cross train when I am not running.
also make sure to do some strength training (that won't hurt your kness of course) that will actually help you lose weight. Good luck!

Hey a lot of aerobic activities are low or no impact. Rowing, Biking, Swimming, Elliptical, Aquajogging. Obviously you should test to see which works well for you.

I belong to a 24 hrs a day gym for 26.99 per month. However there is no pool or track. The other gym in town is twice the price and does. I can't afford that gym and they have no problem not having me. They are not going to make a price break for me. To use their gym per day it is $6.00 as a walk in. But I can use the pool for a water class for $2.11 per class. Perhaps you have a local gym or YMCA that allows you to just come in for the class only. Then you can go as you can afford it. Just a thought to get into the pool. Do you have a hotel in town that has an indoor pool. Maybe you can pay for a day pass once in awhile to use their pool. That costs us $2.00. Then you can do some swimming. Hope you find something that works and best of luck!
