Romantic dinner?

Hi,

This is our first trip to WDW, I am looking for a romantic type of place for my DH and I for one night of our trip. Is there a place to eat at the castle? Any thoughts would be great, Thanks

It depends on what you consider romantic. Lots of noise and crowded tables does not do it for me and unfortunately, most of Disney's dining spots are just that. Of course I've been married a long time which might explain it.

For romance, we like V&A's, Bistro de Paris, Il Mulino, Jiko, Artist Point and Citricos (maybe).

I am not expecting a quiet table with a view I don't mind the screaming kids, as long as they are not mine My parents are going with us, so they are watching our little guy for a night for my DH and I to have a "date" Do you know if you can eat at the castle? If so, what is the name of the place? This is our first trip, so i'm still trying to figure out where everything is, and going through all the threads is confusing me more We have been married for 7 years and together for 10, so something nice would be romantic for us! I think the Artist Point might be in our Resort, we are staying at the WL.

Cinderella's Royal Table, or CRT, as it's known here on the dis.

It's a pretty room, just not quiet.

You could also try California Grill and see if you could get a later reservation to see "Wishes" from your table. We had our Disney date night there last year and really enjoyed it. We also ate at Cirticos and Narcoosee's as a family; the meals there were excellent as well. This year we are really splurging and treating ourselves to dinner at Victoria and Alberts.

My favorite would have to be Narcoosee's at the GF. You have a castle view and if you book it to coincide with the fireworks it is very romantic and they pipe in the music to wishes. We love it there and think it is one of the best places on property.

Cinderella's Royal Table is inside the castle as noted by another poster. I think its really fun to eat there at least once. We took my parents there in 2005 and got a table by the window overlooking Fantasyland and it was fun. It was noisy but its Disney. Its very expensive and you have to prepay to eat there (at least you did the last time we did).

I'll also put a plug in for the Yachtsmen Steakhouse at the Beach Club. That resort is right near Epcot, you can walk there easily (its located just behind the World Showcase) and they have wonderful steak in a lovely atmosphere. Its typically a nice, quiet, unrushed meal. About the same price as CRT.

Also, at CRT you cannot drink alcohol, so if you want a glass of wine with your special meal, don't go anywhere in the Magic Kingdom because no alcohol is served in that park.

Coral Reef inside Epcot is also neat, its in an aquarium in the Living Seas Pavillion. Its going to have its fair share of kids but its very cool in there.

Tokyo Dining in Epcot is another one I like, very nice atmosphere (windows overlooking the lake of the World Showcase) and if you like Japanese food (they have sushi, tempura, teriyaki and lots of good things) its a great place to go.

There are so many wonderful places to eat in WDW, check out the menus on www.allearsnet.com You can see prices and get a feel for places, they have every restaurant listed by location (resort or park). I love that site for planning.

Castle is kid theme oriented with food being secondary. You might review Citrico's, V&A, Bistro de Paris or Blue Zoo.

It sounds like you really want to eat inside the castle but if you are still on the fench where to eat I would like to suggest San Angel Inn in Mexico at Epcot.

It is the most romantic place in all of Disney (in my opinion). Others to also claim how the atmosphere can't be beat. It is a nice meal, not to expensive as well. One word of caution is it is NOT tex mex but more traditional type foods, but very good.
I highly recommend it. I know when I look for romantic I also look for value, as some of the other places are a bit to expensive for what you get, at least as far as I am concerned. And no way to I want to waste 3 +hours on one meal (victorias and alberts). So check it out, it is a fantasitc place to eat. And there is a small boat ride inside the building....sort of a tunnel of love feel to it.

AH! CRT ! (Cinderella's Royal Table)...

It is a Tradition for my family... My DS has grown up going there... now he's 18...has been 10 times... I believe EVERYONE should eat in the Castle Once...

I recommend you bring the "little guy" to the Castle... (This is the #1 reservation to "GO" ...so CALL early!)....

THEN make an ADR (Advanced Dining Reservation) to one of the Signature places that are located in resorts or outside parks...for a Romantic dinner....

PP's have made some great suggestions....

I definitely recommend CRT...but I do think it's a great place to treat the kids as well.. and as PP's have mentioned..there will be a LOT of families there..so GO! but have another place as the "Romantic DInner"...

Castle is an awesome place to eat, and dinner is usually a bit quieter than the other meals (dinner not an actual character-visit-the-tables-meal, so far less kids at dinner.) It can be a little romantic, but is brightly lit & very crowded...the food is good, but you're really paying for the location.

For romantic ambiance, I'd suggest either San Angel Inn in Mexico pavillion, although that can get a little noisy on a busy park day. If you have a car, for a real adult meal, try the Maya Grill at Coronado Springs...we just ate there last week and really enjoyed the quiet beauty of that restaurant (and there is a strolling guitarist which adds to the romantic factor.) Not crowded, and very few families eating there. Not as pricy as the signature restaurants, if you're on a budget (not saying it's cheap, though...just not as expensive as the California Grill, Citrico's, etc.)

If you like meat, Shula's Streakhouse is very romantic and the food is amazing. Be warned, it is pricey though but worth every penny.

I put my vote in for Citricos...I agree with the other posters. CRT is a lot of fun but not what I would call romantic. But we are also trying to get an ADR there, lol.

Yeah, I would not suggest San Angel Inn for romantic. It's not romantic, AFIAC -- it's just plain dark.

I think that is probably going to be the best recommendation overall.

Other choices that could offer a "romantic" dining experience, AFIAC, include Victoria & Alberts (of course) and Bistro de Paris. Citricos, perhaps, as well, though we've only ever been there early -- I'm not sure if it gets noisy (and therefore loses its romantic appeal) later in the evening. I'm going to throw an honorable mention to The Wave and Jiko.

Besides the castle, other places that seem like they should be "romantic" but generally are not include Flying Fish, Brown Derby, and California Grill.

V&A is really the only truly romantic dining experience on property....although DH and I have been known to make our own romantic experiences in lots of traditionally NON romantic places!! V&A is not a WASTE of 3 hours as a previous poster suggested. I have been 3 times and cherish the memories of those experiences as some of my finest in any restaurant ANYWHERE. If you can afford it, do it. You will not be disappointed. I have heard all of the other suggested restaurants get a bad review here and there and have never heard one for V&A...from people who have been. Yeah, many have poo pooed V&A...too expensive for food, long time to dine, too fancy of food, etc. But if you love good food, good service and truly want a romantic atmosphere...V&A is the place.

And, well, you can *make* your own romance at Tony's Town Square and do the Lady and the Tramp spaghetti and meatballs. From personal experience I have to say that went over very well!

Citrico's was a great evening, too. A quieter restaurant.

V&A's is really the place for a truly romantic evening but my favorite restaurant is the California Grill. Its the perfect place for dinner.
My DH and I are going there twice on our next trip. Going into a park is not romantic (in my opinion).
Whatever you decide, I'm sure it will be great cause your in Disney!!!

We just got back from our very first trip to the world.. My husband and I had a FANTASTIC, romantic dinner at Narcoosee's We had 9:20 PM reservations and the fireworks were at 10. We asked to sit by the window and had a glass of wine on the deck overlooking the water and the castle, so nice! We were able to get a table by the window, they dimmed the lights and pipped in the Wishes music, it was so magical I would recommend this, and we will for sure be going back on our next trip!! Our waiters name was Amer and he was perfect! I had the special of Orange Swordfish (awsome, I am not much of a seafood person and this was wonderful), hubby had the et toffe (not sure how to spell it) and loved it. He said it was spicy and he is from Baton Rouge, so I know that it was, he loved it. We split the crab cakes for a start, and they were delish! We give Narcoosee's a big

California Grill - try to snag a "firework table" if you can.
V&A - can't be beat in my opinion and was the most romantic time I have had dining at Disney
BlueZoo - I have eaten there probably about a dozen times and it was always quiet and the food was excellent.
