Yes I am a proud member of the WHO DAT NATION!!

Pigs are flying, Hell has frozen over, and Buddy D is wearing a dress in heaven (true Who Dat's will understand) THE SAINTS ARE GOING TO THE SUPERBOWL!!!

And we are going to WDW to celebrate along with half of the state of Louisiana during Mardi Gras week!!!

We are super excited to be going and hope you will join us as we x off the last 2 weeks of our countdown calendar (thanks Home Depot).

We will be leaving Denham Springs, LA (just outside of Baton Rouge) on Friday February 12th and arriving at Port Orleans French Quarter on Saturday the 13th. We will be leaving the World on Saturday Feb 20th.

There are 6 of us going, and we will have 2 rooms. Hopefully our request for the rooms to be connecting will be granted (cross your fingers for me). We are taking advantage of the buy 4 days get 3 free.

So let's begin meeting the cast:

There is my wife Rachel:love:

She loves Disney World, but is not as crazy about it as me. She feels there is more out there than that. She is more of a world traveler.

And then there are the 3 kids. Adam pirate:is 12 and this will be his 3rd trip. Kaelyn:cheer2: is 7 and this will be her 2nd trip. And finally Kinley:cutie: is 3 (she'll turn 4 one month after we get home) and this is her 1st trip!!

That's them on my dad's shrimp boat taken a few weeks ago.

Then there's me. I love WDW and this will be my 4th trip. I would love to go more but, you know, financial and family obligations don't allow me to go more than every few years. Once Rachel agreed now was a good time to go, she booked the trip and I have been doing ALL of the planning. From meals to parks and everything. She is happy that I have taken the lead to get everything taken care of.

That's all of me you get for now!!!

We also have my MIL coming, but for some reason, I don't have a pic of her on my computer... I will have to get one soon.

Stay tuned for our daily plans and what ever else we have going on.

Only 2 weeks left!!!!:cool1::woohoo:

Better be careful using that who dat, the NFL owns it;)

I'll be down there the same time as you:cool1: The week si getting so close isn't it!!!

Subscribing!! Too bad ya'll aren't there when we are. We're going during the Superbowl!! WHO DAT!!!????!!!

Better be careful before someone comes along and says that we don't "deserve" to go to or win the Superbowl. That seems to be happening a lot lately here on these boards. :lmao:

I'm in too. We are so excited. Our trip is still a surprise for our youngest.

We're going to be arriving at the same time and staying in the same resort. Be on the lookout for us.

We made our reservation for the hotel on Friday the 12th.

Who Dat?!?! This Louisiana girl is DEFINITELY in!!!

Welcome. I can't wait.

Tell me about it. I am so excited. Where are you staying?

That will be so awesome!! I think it'll be different this Mardi Gras than normal. I've never been during that time, but from what I hear it has always been Geaux Tigers!! This year it'll be Black and Gold and Who Dat!! And for someone to say we don't "deserve" it, they are just bitter. Win or lose, I will be sporting black and gold.

So cool. I am glad you came over, I have been reading your TR for a while and figured I would give one a shot. How crazy is it that someone you have never met, that lives just a few miles from you is doing nearly the exact same thing?

Great minds think alike! I had to show DH your pre trippie too. He doesn't Dis but does show interest in my habit. It will be so great to see so much Black and Gold. The last time we went at Mardi Gras was in 2004 right after LSU won the Championship. We loved seeing the sea of Purple and Gold. Plus people form LA are so nice and fun.

We usually go the week before Mardi Gras and yes, the sea of purple and gold starts around the time we are there and just progresses through Mardi Gras from what I've seen in pictures. There is always some Saints colors around but mostly LSU. You are right!! This year will be Black & Gold.

We would have loved to try to get our trip half the week we usually go and half the week of Mardi Gras this year but DH's work schedule just wouldn't cooperate.

Awesome. I saw that in the past POFQ would have a parade around the resort. Each department would decorate "floats." Have you heard anything about this, and if they still do it?

I haven't read this yet. I'm trying to work my way through the FQ thread on the resort board. If you read anything let me know.

Only 12 days until we leave...

We are planning on leaving Friday evening no later than 5pm. I got the day off work, but my wife has to work until 4pm at the latest. Luckily she works from home and can leave as soon as she is done. We want to drive at least to Pensacola. I would rather Tallahassee, but that may be too far. We made a hotel ressie in Pensacola. But we shall see.

On Saturday morning we will leave bright and early and make our way to WDW. I am not sure what time we will get in yet, but we can't check in to POFQ until 3pm, so we will make our way to Epcot. We will probably have lunch at Sunshine Seasons Food Court. We have an ADR at Teppan Edo for 6:40pm.

I want to make sure we see Illuminations that first night, so it wont be as important to see it later in the trip. Does anyone have the best location to view it?

You can check in before 3, but you're room might not be ready. They'll give you your room keys and stuff and let you know when they are ready. That way you have your park passes.

We're going to go straight to French Quarter and check in. Right we're trying to decide whether we'll let them store our stuff and put it in the room for us or leave it in the car to be put away when we return.

You can check in before 3, but your room may not yet be ready. We are DVC members. Our room saren't ready until after 4, and we are checking in this May at about 9AM.

Sunshine Seasons=YUMMY!!!!

As far as Illuminations goes, we like finding a spot near Frnace. We have always had good viewing from there. The bridge is nice too.

I'm in! The last 3 trips we arrived at around noon and our room was ready, so yours might be too. :flower3:

I understand work schedules not cooperating. I work retail and it is tough. But have fun!!!
