My dh has a convention and we will be staying at the ARIA it looks pretty new but I am not finding alot of reviews online has anyone on this board stayed there and if so what do you think of it. wondeing about Rooms/location/dining in the hotel
our last trip we stayed at the luxor and it seemed like such a long walk from the last monorail stop at the end of a long day

also not related to the Aria but a while ago there was a post about the best places to eat and someone raved about a Thai place but I can not find the thread it seems it was on a street called Sahara anyone know anything about this place at least the name so I can find it on a map :thumbsup2

Thanks!

The Aria is brand spankin' new. I'd actually be surprised if there were more reviews available! I haven't been to Vegas since the thing was still being built (and that took years, ugh!). It'll be nice to walk down the strip without massive construction happening.

The Aria is very new. Only been open about a month. We've walked through there and the casino area is beautiful. It has a high end shopping center attached (Louis Vuitton, Tiffany, etc) In the shopping center is Eva Longoria's restaruant, Beso.

The location is pretty center. And it has a free mini-monorail attached. It will take you either next door to the Monte Carlo or next door on the other side, Bellagio. They also made a diagonal walk way above the street that connects directly to Planet Hollywood and Desert Passage shops.

Central sounds great to me last year DH had these same meetings and we were waaaay down at the Stratosphere. Then my brother was married in Vegas in November and we were waaay at the other end at the Luxor. Maybe I'll get some good photos to share.

I believe they just did a giant remodel. I've never been but from what I understand it's one of the best Thai restaurants anywhere. It is in a REALLY rundown shopping center called Commercial Center, on Sahara about a mile east of the Strip (that center has the best wig shop in town-Serge's Showgirl Wigs & also a swingers club called The Green Door :crazy2:). Take a taxi.

Make sure you take pictures of the hotel! Please let me know if the pool is open. I am hoping to have some nice weather in March and April - we would like to rent a cabana.

We visited the Aria during our trip in early Jan. It is part of the new cluster of hotels - Vdara and Crystals (opening in Feb.) - in City Centre behind the Bellagio, connected by a monorail ride. I think it's quite a nice new hotel.

We arrived at about 11ish and were hungry from our walk from our hotel, so we decided to hit the Aria buffet. It was OK, a bit of a splurge for $25 pp. You can view pics of the Aria buffet on my food blog:

(The blog is not complete with my Vegas food entries. There's still more to document and show!)

The best part about the Aria buffet were the yummy desserts which are made by Jean-Phillipe who makes desserts for the Bellagio. Loved Vegas with all the yummy food options and the gaming! Have fun!!!

Walked around Aria about a week or so ago - the pool was not open - but it was rainy and 40's. The pool at the Paris was open the day before - but it was 60 out. We still thought the people in the pool were crazy. :upsidedow

I stayed at the Aria just over a week ago. The corner suite was amazing! The washroom was incredible - nice soaker tub in the corner, overlooking the strip. Housekeeping was amazing too! As soon as we turned the service light on, our room was clean. It was so nice to have a scale in the bathroom too! The pool area was so nice - we used the pool on the right side (less crowded than the other 2 pools) which was heated!

Only issue was an extremely rude front desk clerk (Patricia) - whoa, she made inappropriate comments, rolled her eyes, sighed and actually raised her voice (we arrived at noon and they placed us in a smoking room - we needed a non-smoking room - that is when she raised her voice saying "we've given you a room, you should be happy with that...you did book through expedia...what do you expect." When we finally got our room 7 hours later, Lisette was incredible! Made up for a horrible experience!

Aria was very quiet compared to the other hotels...it was nice having the food court in the Monte Carlo. We didn't eat in any of the restaurants - a little pricey and a little too fancy for our liking.

Overall - the suite was incredible, the elevators were super fast, housekeeping and all other staff were incredibly friendly (except for mean Patricia).

Aria is part of the very upscale City Center. It is located between Monte Carlo and the Bellagio and is connected by a free monorail. If you take the monorail (or walk down a hallway) you will be in the Monte Carlo ... they have a food court if you want something quick and cheap. Otherwise, they have the usual assortment of restaurants (Diablo, etc).

We stopped in at the casino at Aria and thought it was a little out of our league re gambling ... we tend to play BJ at the $5 pitch tables.

We did have an offer to stay at Aria for $115 per night with $50 free play and $50 resort credit, but decided to pass on it in order to stay at the MGM Grand Resort.
