1st Trip (of many!) as Mr. & Mrs.--the TR-- UPDATE 9/9: Life Update--We're Moving!!

I love the photos of you guys with Minnie and Mickey. So cute! I wonder if the CMs have just as much fun making those magic moments for families as it is to receive them? I love IASW and even bought a thai IASW ornament for my tree this year! Can't wait for the Epcot update...I love the world showcase!

Great update!:goodvibes I love the joke! Unfortunately, the only jokes I know are highly inappropriate because my joke resources are all men with the mentality's of thirteen year old's.

That drives me crazy about the spray bottles too! I honestly think the people with them don't think it's a big deal as a) it's just water and b) it's usually hot outside. But I get so aggravated getting sprayed by them.

By the way, you always wear the cutest outfits to the parks!

Before we went to any ride, though, we had to grab a few more Photopass Pictures:

These are totally my favorite pictures of you so far. :thumbsup2

Those photographers are really talented. I love the way you guys are the main subject of the picture and yet you cannot ignore the castle on the background. :)

When we went to Monsters Inc. last year they showed my daughter on the big screen and called her ´something really, really cute´. It put such a big grin on our faces. I guess they really master the art of keeping guests happy.

Another great post. Thank you for keeping us posted.:woohoo:

Awesome update!
The no wait thing for Mickey so shows the magic of Disney. That really is what disney's all about. That's so cool that yor joke got picked for the laugh floor. And I love all the pics from it's a small world. That ride is just so fun no matter how bad other people may think it is. And I totally love dole whips too. I'm definitely not a pineapple person but I totally love the dole whips.

Ahh, so many great things this update, where to begin?!?!

How fun that your joke got picked! I had wanted to do this on our trip, but we never did get around to it, and I'm disappointed because I LOVE Monsters Inc.! The picture of you with your phone under the sign is adorable. ;)

What a GREAT magical moment with Mickey & Minnie!! The videos literally made me say, "Aww how CUTE!" out loud to myself. :rotfl: What's even better than you being so excited is how excited Michael is! Because Dustin would probably be that excited if that happened to us, but he would never let me capture it on camera much less share it online. :rotfl2: What a great CM! And just goes to show you that magical moments can happen to ANYONE! Not just kids and their parents or a honeymoon couple or someone celebrating their birthday. So cute that he did thumbs up when he saw y'all videoing him too. :thumbsup2

I love IASW too! We had to drag my dad on it this trip, and it made for some interesting pictures, which should be coming up within the next few updates. :lmao:

What a magical day! (excluding spray bottle family :rotfl2:) I loved the pic of Michael and Minnie where it says "Just Married" - too cute! I would love to try one of the backstage tours and hoped to on our next trip but we will only be there for 6 days and I know I would be the only one of the family who might be interested so will have to save that for a solo trip.

So cool that your joke was chosen! Looking forward to reading more!

Thanks--I was super excited!

How awesome your joke got picked! I always send mine in but it never gets picked! I'm going to keep trying though!

Wow girl, that was such a neat surprise!

I LOVE Mickey's PhilharMagic!

Thanks! I was so excited it was--I think my stomach flipped when I saw my name on the screen! :upsidedow I couldn't believe it. We were just blown away! Me too!!

The pictures of you guys with Minnie and Mickey are ADORABLE! Love it!

Mmmmm...Dole Whip float! So good! Joe and I always stop there at least once during our trips!

Thanks Jenny! We were SOO excited! That CM really made our day :thumbsup2 I'm sad I only got one--they were SOO good!

Hi Ann! Thank you--we were just blown away that this had happened! If I was a CM (and Michael and I would love to retire and go to work as CMs), that would be my favorite part of the day! :goodvibes You know it made him happy to see that we were so happy. Oh, yay! I'm glad there are more IASW fans out there... I'll hopefully have the Epcot update today or Monday.

Thanks so much! Haha--it's my go-to joke now! And every time I say it, I think about my friends... :thumbsup2 There's more to it to: "How do you catch a tame rabbit?" "The TAME way. You NEAK up on it!" :rotfl: I think that the water in the bottles is actually some kind of oblivious spray--so they don't even think about the fact that they're REALLY getting on peoples' nerves! :upsidedow Aw--thanks! I tried to pick things that were cute but still super comfy.

Hi Q! Thanks so much--I really like those too. We had such good luck with Photopass photographers. :) Aw! How sweet!! I'm sure you and your family just loved that. She's going to have the greatest time in May. I know--they truly do make guests feel like they're in the magic. Thanks! :goodvibes

Thanks so much! I know--it just shows that the heart of what they do is making the guests feel special. I know it did that for us! :goodvibes Thanks! I loved seeing my name on the screen... Yay for IASW--it brings back so many memories. I love, love, love pineapples. So I was in heaven!

Aw--thanks so much! It was a fun update to write! :thumbsup2 We were disappointed it was closed the first time we went, but I'm really glad we got in the second time. It reminded me of Turtle Talk with Crush. We loved both of these! Haha--I'm glad you liked the videos! :goodvibes We were just giddy! Well...he doesn't know they're on the internet. :rolleyes1 But I'm sure he'd be ok with it! I know--we were blown away that he just chose to do this for us. He didn't have to, and we weren't celebrating anything special, but he still made our day! We were trying to be all stealth about it, but he saw us anyway! What a great guy. :thumbsup2 Yay for more IASW love. Haha--I can't wait to see them!

What a magical day! (excluding spray bottle family :rotfl2:) I loved the pic of Michael and Minnie where it says "Just Married" - too cute! It was such a wonderful day!! Oh, spray bottle family... :headache: Thanks! I thought that was quite fitting for the pic. You will LOVE LOVE LOVE the backstage tours. I hope you get to take one soon!

Hey Kimmy! You would absolutely love the tour!! :goodvibes It's so great! Haha--nope. I didn't know that! But that's pretty fun. And yay for having the same birthday as Stephanie! Even though I've never met her, you'll have to tell her I said Happy Birthday when it gets closer. :upsidedow Michael and I bought it since it was Walt's first and everything, but neither of us like her voice. Haha--so true!! I also noticed that she sings a TON lower during the Castle show! That guy is so, so talented. What an incredible job! Just making people's days brighter by using your incredible gift....

I think I would love the tour!! Isn't their an age limit on it though? I may have to somehow convince my parents to watch Landon for that long or wait.

I was so close to sharing a birthday with you and Stephanie!! That was my due date!! Usually in January, April seems so far away to me but this year it seems like its just looming overhead and its going to come so quick!

I bought Snow White for the same reason as you! I watched it once but think it may be a while until I watch it again. Her voice is high and pretty much just sickeningly sweet. I'm glad her voice is so much lower now-a-days!! :lmao:

That guy's sharing of his talent DOES make me happy! :goodvibes

YAY!! So you were texting me on this day!! I remember you telling me your joke that got picked!! :goodvibes My mom had heard it before...have you heard the one that goes directly after it? "How do you catch a tame rabbit? Tame way!" :rotfl:

Oh my goodness, I cannot believe how crowded Minnie's house was! Definitely not worth it. Luckily, I got to go through once, but during MNSSHP there were so many people in the front room trying to get a picture. It was like a family reunion or something and they all wanted their picture in the first room so you couldn't get by!! But wow...imagine if you had gone through and the next CM you met could've left before you met him. Then you would've never gotten your awesome meet and greet! (And the wait would've been even longer because all those people's from Minnie's would've gone over!) Wow...what luck! That's so awesome that CM did that for you!! Don't you just love the magic? Next time you do decide to go, I hope we can know enough in advance to schedule together. It makes me sad now to think we were just a couple of weeks apart!! :goodvibes

Don't you just hate lines? And how it always seems you choose the wrong way? I also go through something similiar with traffic. My lane is going like below the speed limit so I switch and then that lane for some reason slows down and I would've gotten further had I stayed in the other one! I'm glad that you love IASW so much that it was worth it though. I just love that ride too! The song can get annoying, but I really think its beautiful too.

We have the same favorite princesses!! We already knew about Belle though. I love the Little Mermaid. She's fantastic. I actually had Little Mermaid curtains in the house I grew up in (they had been there from the previous owner though...I just lucked out!) I love the songs the most in those movies. Have you seen Ariel's Beginning? It's a very interesting back story that explains a lot!

MMMMM Dole Whip. I got the same thing as you...I loved it. I love pineapple in real life though. When I was pregnant, I HAD to have a whole pineapple...not the pre-cut stuff. My mom and I had quite the adventure trying to figure out how to cut it. It was the best pineapple ever though! I think it would be good if they made a pina colada-y one. Pineapple ice cream is like the best idea ever though! So delicious!

I can't wait to live vicariously through your WS experience since mine was subpar and we didn't even get to enjoy any of the gems there! I hope you're having a great day!

I bet the CMs love making those moments. Our last trip we gave away FPs to Toy Story Mania because our munchkin fell asleep and we were heading back to the hotel to rest with her. I think we spent 10 minutes trying to find a family that would really appreciate the FPs and we loved the look of surprise of the family's face! I totally love IASW. I feel like it's just a cute, happy ride! Looking forward to the next update!

What an awesome day! You guys have had the best trip, haven't you?!? I can't wait until we can go on the KTTW Tour. Great job on recapping your experience without spoiling it for the rest of us! :thumbsup2

How cool that you got to meet Mickey & Minnie with no wait! :goodvibes I can't believe they're going to do away with ToonTown Fair....but I'm sure what they replace it with will be great too....It's sad though because Goofy's Barnstormer is one of our favorite rides...I heard they're going to keep it, but re-theme it, but still, I'm afraid it will be shut down when we go...:sad2:

Can't wait to hear about your World Showcase Adventures!

That's so cool that your joke got chosen at the Laugh Floor!

He then said, “What if you didn’t have to wait?”

Woo Hoo! :woohoo: Plus you got to see Minnie!

I was about to lose it! I told Michael that if I got sprayed one more time, I was going to take the bottle away and bust it. (Not that I would really do this—I was just irritated!) :headache:

That would have irritated me, too! Love all the pictures you got! :thumbsup2

My lovely!

Looking forward to hearing about World Showcase!

We're back!!! :goodvibes

Just caught up on your TR~! Your Photopass pics are amazing! And what a MAGICAL moment with the CM letting you cut!! Lucky!

I am SO wanting to do the tour now that you reported on it. I showed my DH and he agreed that if we go back for an adult trip this year, that we can check it out. It sounds amazing, thanks for letting us know about it!

I thought of you a lot during our trip! I tried to find you and your Dad's pic in Epcot :) AND I enjoyed half of a bagel every morning waiting for the bus or the boat! hehe

I started my TR, would love for you to join. Click on the link in my siggie!:lovestruc

Cant wait to read more of your TR!

Hey Kimmy! I'm cracking up right now because it seems like our posts are starting to look like our emails! I love it though!

You would love the tour! But you have to be 16 for this one. Maybe your dad could watch Landon and you and your mom could go on it! There are some that the kids can be younger, though. There's one about Mickey that we want to take and I think the age limit is 10 for that one.

Really?! I didn't know you were due on my bday! That's so fun. I have a feeling it's going to come super quickly this year.

Oh yeah--I forgot that I was texting you this day! I think we texted at least once a day...but I do remember telling you that my joke was picked! :thumbsup2 Haha--Yep! My friends would say that part too. There's another part, but I can't remember it for the life of me.

I know! I was completely shocked that it was that crowded. It's neat and all, but NOT worth a line! That's really strange that the family wanted their family picture there--you'd think they'd choose a place where a Photopass Photographer could take one. :confused3 You're so right--that CM just made our day. I can't imagine if we hadn't ran into him. But that just shows that things work that way for a reason!!

I hope we can go at the same time next time too! Who knows when that will be though. We'll probably wait until we have kids...unless my family decides to do a family vacation before then. We'll see. But we'll definitely have to try to make it work!

Traffic is the worst!! I always get so mad when my lane is going so much slower. :headache: And it always becomes a competition with me.

I didn't know Ariel was your other favorite princess! So fun. No, I haven't seen it. I didn't think it looked very good. But if it is, I might have to check it out. I love all of the songs too!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE pineapple!! :goodvibes We made some a few weekends ago at my parents house that was amazing. My mom got a whole Pineapple and cut it, put brown sugar and some other spices on it, and then cooked it in the oven. It was amazing! She found the recipe online. I'll try to find it for you.

Don't get your hopes up too much...our experience wasn't what I was planning on either... But hopefully some of the pics will make you laugh!

Hi Ann! I bet so too!! That's so sweet of you. :goodvibes I'm sure it meant SO much to that family! It's so fun to do little special things for people. I'll hopefully have it today or tomorrow!

What an awesome day! You guys have had the best trip, haven't you?!? I can't wait until we can go on the KTTW Tour. Great job on recapping your experience without spoiling it for the rest of us! :thumbsup2

Thanks! Oh my goodness--YES. We had an incredible trip!! :goodvibes We really couldn't ask for more. You will absolutely LOVE the KTTK tour when you can go. It was so neat. We were (obviously) SOOO excited about meeting Mickey and Minnie!! That CM was incredible. :) I know. I really enjoy Toontown Fair. But the Fantasyland expansion sounds amazing, so I'm sure it'll be worth it. I heard they're keeping it too--hopefully it'll still be working for your family!! I'll hopefully have an update soon. :thumbsup2

That's so cool that your joke got chosen at the Laugh Floor!

Woo Hoo! :woohoo: Plus you got to see Minnie!

That would have irritated me, too! Love all the pictures you got! :thumbsup2

My lovely!

Looking forward to hearing about World Showcase!

Thanks--I was so excited to see my name up there! I wasn't expecting Minnie to be there--it was SUCH a great surprise to get to see both of them! :woohoo: I'm sure she didn't realize it, but gosh--it bugged me! Thanks--it's so hard to take pictures without a flash in there... I would LOVE to have a Dole whip float right now. I'll hopefully post today or tomorrow about WS!

We're back!!! :goodvibes

Cant wait to read more of your TR!

Hi Katie! I'm so glad you're back and that yall have had an amazing, amazing trip!! :goodvibes Can't wait to read all about it. Thanks so much--we were really pleased with Photopass throughout the trip! We were just blown away that the CM would take the time to make our day special!

You and your DH would LOVE the tour!! :thumbsup2 It's just so amazing, and I'm sure you'd enjoy it together. You'll have to let me know if you're going, and I can give you some more tips on it!

Aw! :goodvibes Thanks so much! You're sweet. I wish I would have known that you were going to look for our picture--I would have told you our last name so you could look it up. And didn't the half bagel work so well?

When I last left you, we had just finished an awesome afternoon at the Magic Kingdom. After our tour, my joke was picked for Monster’s Inc. Laugh Floor, a CM made our day and surprised us by not having to wait to see Mickey and Minnie, and I tried my first ever Dole Whip Float. Whew—it’d been one busy (but great) day so far! :thumbsup2

Our original plan was to sleep in and then be at Epcot World Showcase at 11 when it opened. This was changed when we decided to book the KTTK tour at the MK. So then our plan was to go to EWS as soon as the tour was over. Well…then we still had some things we wanted to accomplish at the Magic Kingdom. So we decided to do that first. We didn’t realize it would take as long as it did. :upsidedow

We didn’t end up pulling into Epcot until 3:30. And there were still a few things we wanted to do/re-do in the Future World section. But first, we had to get a few quick (or so we thought) Photopass Pictures.

The first photographer we went to took a few quick pics in front of the EF&WF display.

Image299.jpg

Image302.jpg

We also saw a PP Photographer closer to “the ball”. There was a grandma and her granddaughter taking pictures, and then there was one other family in line. Great! We’d take these really quickly too.

NOT.

The grandma and girl took about a million and two pictures. They wanted pictures together. Then they wanted pictures separately. Then they wanted pictures together again. Then they wanted to turn back to back. Then hug. Then make goofy faces. Then open their mouths. Then be serious. Then…. :headache: We thought it would never end!! At one time, the girl was taking pictures by herself (she was probably in her mid to late teens), and the grandma went over and took a little boy’s hat from the family in front of us to put on her granddaughter’s head! I couldn’t believe it! :scared1: Then she had to jump in the background of the picture and make a silly face. It was absolutely ridiculous! I really don’t know what their deal was.

FINALLY they were finished, and the photographer started taking pictures of the family in front of us. He took a ton of them as well. He took pictures of the whole family, the parents, the kids, the guys, the girls, the family again. Then he moved them over to the EF&WF display to take them all again. You could tell they were starting to get a little tired of all the pictures and poses.

We almost left, but we decided to stay since he had to finish sometime. He must have either been an aspiring photographer, or he just REALLY enjoyed going above and beyond for his job, because he kept taking pictures of us too! We just wanted a few quick shots, but we decided to humor him and take whatever he wanted us to.

And let me also note that he told us how to put our legs and arms and faces, too. It was really funny!

He asked if we’d like some more, but we thanked him for taking so many great pictures and declined. Since it was now 5 hours later (just kidding!), we decided it was time to hit some attractions.

Our first stop was the Spaceship Earth Shuffleboard Energy Saving Game (at least that’s what we call it). We’d had so much fun playing this last time that we had to try it again!

093EFWEnergy.jpg

094EFWEnergy.jpg

Just a few points away from Megacity!

We had a blast (again), and went off to make some paper at Innoventions East. I really, really wanted to try this since I’d read about it on tinkgurl’s TR, and they were already closed the last time we’d stopped in.

First, though, we grabbed a Kim Possible Mission! I was really, really excited to try one of these!

095EFW.jpg

096EFWPaper.jpg

Michael made his first. The CM helped showed us how to dip the paper catcher (sorry—don’t know the technical terms) into the water/paper stuff.

097EFWPaper.jpg

Then Michael tried:

While his was cooking,

099EFWPaper.jpg

I fished for my paper:

This was the same CM we talked to when it was closed. He was really nice, and he told us all about the new roller coaster simulator they were working on (it opened in October). He absolutely loved working at Walt Disney World!

Next, we rolling pinned them:

And then put an official stamp on them:

Ta-Da! :goodvibes

We had a lot of fun visiting with the CM and learning how to make paper! And it was a great keepsake!

On our way into the World Showcase, we stopped for a few more Photopass Pics (it’s pretty safe to say that we stopped at every Photopass person we saw after we decided we for sure wanted to buy the CD!)

Our first point destination was Norway, so we headed that way.

108EWSnew.jpg

Ah, what a gorgeous day!

109EWSnew.jpg

We saw a Photopass Photographer in front of Mexico, so we had to get a few quick shots. Especially since Michael is Mexican!

Up Next: Norway!

The ride was good, but it’s not one of our favorites. I think I remember liking it more, but this time we weren’t really impressed. It was still fun, though!

I had to get a picture with the troll—I have taken one with him every time I’ve been to Disney World!

And then I decided to take out the annoying opera lady! :rotfl:

We saw a pretty Christmas tree, and then headed back outside.

When we left, the ride was closed for some reason. I’m glad we came when we did!

I love all of the details!

We decided to catch the ferry from Mexico to France, and it was boarding while we were walking up. Just in time!

We had a nice, peaceful ride over,

And when we looked back, there was a rainbow!

We saw two of our favorite characters:

And then headed over to Japan for our dinner reservations!

I just love all of the Japanese architecture.

It wasn’t quite time for dinner (it was 5:20 and our ADR wasn’t until 5:40), but we decided to try to check in early.

Wow, I can't believe how many pictures that guy took of you two!! He must have really loved his job. I guess it passes time quicker when you take 100+ shots of everyone you come into contact with. :rotfl:

Haha, that pose of Michael and the viking, Joe does that pose all the time. It must be a guy thing! :rotfl2:

LOVE IT!!! You two are photopass couple of the year!! My goodness :lmao:

I remember thinking the same thing about Malestrom. I liked it of course, it just wasnt as good as I remembered. My daughter and DH LOVE it though.

I can not wait to hear about your dinner!!!! I really want to eat there!

Hi Staci! Wow, you guys certainly got your money's worth from the PP cd! I would have been so annoyed by that lady and her granddaughter if I had been waiting in line. Although, it's fun that you got your own batch of pictures from him too! oh my gosh - I have been wanting to try making paper since reading it on tinkgurl's TR too! After reading your experience, I just turned to my DH and told him that we need to add that to our growing list of things to try out when we go back. I hope my DD will find it somewhat interesting and fun (since she's only 2 1/2, haha).

Haha, good update, so funny about the PP guy! He did take some good ones though. You guys are totally my inspiration to hunt out the fun things at Innoventions next time.
