Help with shoes...please

I haven't yet found a pair of shoes that don't cause blisters and pain while walking around WDW. Some are better than others, but none have been great. Recently we went on a trip to Branson and walked around a theme park with a ton of hills for a few days and I had NO foot pain or blisters! The problem is I was wearing big cloggy winter shoes--that won't cut it for WDW in May. I'm thinking of trying another version of the same brand, Merrell. I am 37, been married for 15 years, and a mom of 3. In other words, I have no sense of style anymore. (Sorry, I know some people who meet the same criteria do--but I don't.) Please help!

Do any of these shoes go with shorts and t-shirts? (I mostly wear jean shorts. Is that another fashion issue?)
Assortment of Merrel Shoes--multiple pages

My favorite because it doesn't have a full back (which usually rubs on my heel and hurts and blisters.)
Encore-Beige

How about this shoe? Without socks, right? Is blue better?
Pandi-Canteen Color

How about this one? Blue better?
Circuit MJ Breeze, Taupe

If I was going to choose tennis shoes, I lean toward this one: (With anklets?)
Siren Sport

Another possibility:
Chameleon

My preference would be to wear sandals, but I have a difficult time finding sandals that fit because I have a super high arch and wide feet.
These might fit: Are these cool?
Siren-thong

Or should I go with a good ol' pair of Birkenstock's?

Please give me feedback! I need help! I don't want to be a dork, but I do want to be comfortable!

I've heard Crocs are the IT shoe of Disney peeps. They're super ugly but supposedly very comfy :) lol

I am one of those mommies whose fashion choices have gone on the back burner since having kids. I mean really should I be trying to color coordinate my outfits around the baby slobber and spit up? ;) I love those tennis shoes! Those were the pair I was actually thinking about buying for myself. I also love the style of those Pandis, but the other two not so much. I was thinking about getting a pair of those as well, and pairing them with my capris. :) I think Crocs are nasty ugly and I don't care how comfy they supposedly are they look gawd awful. I would probably buy a pair for the kids, but I won't be caught dead in them.

Thanks! They give me croc bites.;) I have tried both the traditional ones (give me blisters on top of my foot) and some sandals (give me blisters on my toes.) :sad2: I'm just a tough, tough case!

So should it frighten me, that you like the same ones I do? ;)

Thanks for the input! The Pandi's would look good with capris! So tennis shoes with shorts, ya think?

You should buy two pairs and alternate wearing them.

My vote would be pick your favorite of the first two & then also buy #4.

The first two look okay. I'd say no socks - good on water ride days.
The third doesn't look like it has much cushioning.
The fourth one looks good too. Needs socks - will be warmer.
Number 5 I don't like - I don't like a high strap like that on an otherwise open top shoe - I find them uncomfortable.
No 6 looks nice too but I like wearing more of a shoe at Disney - I've bee stepped on enough to appreciate more coverage, lol!

First off I love Merrells. I would think one important thing is to rotate ur shoe thru out the trip maybe even day. And yes crocs are a great choice but you must wear the right size & they can be slick when it rains.

I like this one too

And this one

And I liked all of your choices too

Thanks! Those are cute. Do they go with shorts? :confused3 I'm clueless I tell ya!

Good idea to alternate! I always think of that too late. I like the looks of #2, but the no back on #1, I think #4 (the tennis shoes) are a definate), and wish I could throw in #6 (the sandals) too--but don't think I can justify it. Do you think 1 and 2 both go with shorts?

I'll have to try some of all of your suggestions! I haven't tried Crocs but I am definitely springing for a new walking shoe a couple of months before the trip to break them in :) Although it will suck if it rains. lol

I have the same trouble with shoes.

These are the flip-flops that I bought for our trip in August.

They were really comfortable, but I still switched between them, my 12+ year old birkenstocks and the new balance sneakers that I wear walking everyday.

New balance has some new mesh sided sneakers that are really light and cool. They usually have a good variety of widths, too.

I'm not sure what I'll do at DW but this past summer I wore my Reef sandals to a theme park not from from where I live and they were very comfortable!

I am a 26 almost 27 year old mom who wants to look like a mommy not a teenager (I look super young/ I get dirty looks from people who dont know my age esp if I forgot to put my wedding bands on), however I do like to look fashionable and I love the Encore and the Pandi. The Pandi I love them blue and the purple but blue would look better with more things. I think I am gonna have to buy a pair of these. Hope this helps.:goodvibes

I normally wear Roxy Flip-flops just to let you know. The cushy one with cloth straps. Everything else I get blister but I am gonna try the ones you posted!

Oh and I think Crocs except one pair of flipflops and the fleece lined ones they have are Ugly and I would never be caught dead in them. Seriously! (If you love them, I would never say anything about others wearing them)

I have lots of Merrell shoes and love them. I would recommend:

Circuit MJ Breeze - I have these in black. They are not water shoes. More like a mary jane style tennis shoe with mesh sides. They are very cool in hot weather. They look fine w/capris (not glamorous, but fine). I wore these for the first time at Disney & they were so comfortable.

Encore - I have these in light blue. They are super comfortable. I like the open back. Not my favorite look for shorts/capris, but not horrible either.

I also have a few pairs of Merrell flip flops which all have the nice sole. I wore a brand new pair at Disney w/out any issues. I have the slide sandals also, but they don't seem to be as comfortable as the flip flop style.

Go try them on first and then you can usually find a better price on-line.
