So Sorry to Ask Another Waitlist Question.

I understand that I don't have to call everyday to check on my waitlist status. If it comes through it will appear on the member's website. My question is; do the matches for the waitlist only get checked on once day day? Meaning, if I check in the morning on the website and it is not there, is there any chance it may appear later in the day?
Also, what do you think are the chances of getting a studio concierge at AKV for 1 night? I have the night of 9/30 booked for the studio concierge but am waitlisting for Friday 10/1. I did book a studio value room for that night just so I have something but it would involve a room change for us.I don't know if maybe I should just book 2 studios as non-concierge so that I won't have to change rooms or hold out for the last night concierge. :confused3

I have heard that waitlists fill at night, but also that they fill throughout the day.

I also know that in the summer, that someone on the boards was able to book a room that I was WL'd for by calling in. It was the same night and view as me.

When I inquired at MS, she did say that sometimes the rooms are released into the system at the same time someone is booking and it gets taken before the WL has a chance to fill. Because of this, I called daily and emailed member satisfication to tell them that I think that rooms should not show up until WL's are filled.

When they called back, they said they were able to get me my room (how, I don't know).

If I was only going for 2 nights, I would not want to change rooms.

Here is the pixiedust so that it comes through, in case you want to keep things as is. pixiedust:

I think that Disney fudges with the wait lists. I have heard 10 different answers from Cast Members on how they are administered.

Many Members report that their wait list just happens to get filled when they call in, coincidence?

I don't think filling wait lists are a priority item for MS and they fill them when and how they feel like it.

:) Bill

Thanks for the replies. I think I am going to call to see if I can get it.
It dawns on me too that the waitlist is not priority for MS.

Can a renter check the DVC website to see if a wait-list came through? And, I thought renters can't call member services? We're renting and I don't want to bug the DVC owner to check on our wait list status; so I'd love to be able to check myself.

Sorry there is no way for a non-member to check the DVC member website. (unless the member gives you his/her login & password and I can't imagine the member would agree to do that.).

If you already have a partial reservation and thus have a DVC reservation confirmation number - say you have 4 nights of the 6 you want, then you can check this site:

www.mydisneyreservation.com/dvc

That will give you the current reservation. So for the example, that will show you 6 nights when the waitlist works. That assumes MS linked the waitlist to the original reservation, which they should do.

FWIW, you have a very generous owner. Most will not tie up points for a rental waiting for a waitlist to work.

The above site will not work if you have a reservation at one DVC resort and are waitlisted for another resort or even a different view/room size at the same resort. Those would all get new reservation numbers when they come through.

Bottom line is you will have to be patient and wait for the owner to contact you if/when the waitlist works.

We already have a reservation for a split stay so we have 2 reservation numbers. We tried to get into BWV for our entire week, but it wasn't available so we're starting out at SSR and moving to BWV after a few nights. We're wait listed for BWV so we can stay there the whole time. We're keeping our fingers crossed and hoping for some major pixie dust because we're going at a popular time.

So, what will Disney's website show relative to our wait list given this scenario?

BTW, we already have paid because a commitment was important for both of us. We're going, it's just a matter of where.

You should be able to use the website I mentioned above in combination with the confirmation number for the BWV portion of your stay. Assuming the waitlist was set up correctly, you'll see the SSR reservation disappear and the BWV reservation reflect your new check in date.

I just went thru 3 waitlist, and all of them did clear, however, I had the same questions as you. I called member services last week and the lady assured me that when someone calls to cancel, the waitlist have priority, and that there is no need to keep calling. So I kept checking throughout the day, because we did not want to have to switch rooms. This past Sat. (I think Saturdays, a lot of people are calling to reserve/cancel, so both my waitlist have always come open on a Sat.), but at any rate, at 9:30am, it had not cleared and an hour later, it did. So, that leads me to believe what she said was valid. So who knows, I don't think it hurts to call either. I just know the feeling of not wanting to be a pest.

We're staying at AKV for 7 nights Mar. 28 - Apr. 4 in a studio, and we tried to add on 4 nights...we had to waitlist...this was about a month ago. After reading this thread, I thought I would call and check, but no pixie dust for us...we're still on the waitlist :sad2: I guess I will just keep checking the member website to see if it comes through. We are currently booked at OKW in a studio for the 4 extra nights, so I guess it won't be so bad. Good luck to everyone else waiting, and congrats to those of you who got what you wanted!

What type of room did you want, V, S, SV, or C??? You still have a lot of time too. Don't give up hope. Do check daily though the DVC site. Did they have any of the 4 nights? Because I always take what I can get, then waitlist for the others, so those don't get taken too?

Are you WL'd for all 4 nights only? They only fill if all are available. If you call, you might be able to add those days separately until the whole thing gets filled.

For example, if you call, they might have night 1 & 2 of those additional nights available but not 3 & 4. You could then get those and then change the WL for the last two.

I certainly would not do it if I couldn't add them in order, but it is worth a try!
