My sister is there on business and was wondering what she could go do in her off time... she is not a disney fanatic like I am soooo... anybody have any ideas of some fun things so could do? She already went to DTD and Florida Mall - I am sending her Boardwalk info so she can check it out.

When I go, I go to WDW, I never knew there was stuff outside of it..lol :rotfl:

These sound great! I am going to text them to her now. She ate at Coqavin tonight - said it was pretty good... I will have to check it out. :)
Thanks guys!

gator land is kinda "scmaltzy", definintely a half-day park. but then, it's cheap. and if you like reptiles (as hubby does) it's kinda fun and different. (just don't try to compare it to a disney park, or you'll be disapointed)
old town had some rides, golf carts, a LOT of shops and restaurants and bars. there are tons of mini golfs on 192. I always wanted to try one of those air boat rides.
for eating, we love ponderosa on 192.. such a deal (if you like buffets)

Yes, there are things outside WDW! Believe it or not.

Gatorland is alot of fun. My wife and I went on our honeymoon and every time we go back we try to stop in. It's open 9-5 though.

If she's into the dining experiences there is Arabian Nights or the Pirate one. We did Arabian Nights, it's kinda like a Renaissance Faire experience - just don't expect fine dining.

I can't believe no one's mentioned La Nouba? If she's never been to a Cirque du Soleil show, this is definitely the one to go to first. It was our first one and we fell in love with the experience!

Ripley's is fun and the walk down International is interesting at night. Most of the shops are open late.

Last time we were there we did the Medieval times, Premium Outlets, Florida mall. This time we are playing Downtown Disney, Pirates dinner, an airboat ride, maybe go to the beach (coco or Daytona), and heading to Tampa for a TBL game and Busch.

Good call. In fact, my wife and daughter and I often drive down there and just walk around and go eat somewhere. (We're thinking of going this Saturday if it doesn't rain!) :)

OP: since your sister already went to Florida Mall then I assume she's pretty close to International Drive. There's tons of stuff to do over in this area. Pointe Orlando is okay (it used to be better IMO, but she may enjoy it still), Festival Bay Mall, Ripleys, Wonderworks, the outlets, lots of shops and "mini attraction" type places on I-Drive.

City Walk is also pretty fun, she'd have a few things to do over there. :thumbsup2

air boat ride thru gator country

seaworld (i love the exibits here and with the kids i always feel so rushed thru them. doing them solo would be a great way to spend a day.)

gatorland

take the hour drive across the B line to Cocoa Beach. nice beach, quite. great food up at the inlet near where the cruise ships board.

if she is into fishing at all she could book a fishing trip thru one of the WDW resorts.

kennedy space center

Cape Canaveral, Seaworld, Citywalk, Blueman Group. There are many things to see in Orlando besides the mouse.
