Just curious if any fellow DVC members have been successful at getting a reservation at the Villas at Grand Californian at Disneyland at the 7 month window. I'm wondering if us non VGC owners even have a chance at getting a reservation.

I have a reservation for February 14-19. I am a AKV owner. I made that reservation 7 months outs!!

Good to know! Congrats! Is it safe to assume that you called Member Services on the first day of the 7 month window as soon as they opened?

I called the on our 7 month day and was able to get a studio at VGC for June. Good Luck!

This is nice to hear! I have no immediate plans of going to DL. Just was curious for the future when I do make that trip! Thanks!

I did call on July 14 to start my five day trip but they didnt have anything for february 14 i guess bc ppl book starting early and grabbed the date or maybe cause it was valetines day...anyway i called back on july 15 for feb 15-19 and waitlisted for feb 14...the waitlist for february 14 came through really soon (august 22)...

Just booked a 1 bedroom for Aug. at 7 months!!!

Congrats, that's awesome! Hearing from all you guys makes me feel hopeful. I don't know when I'll be making the trip to the west coast but it's nice to hear that us non-owners do have a good chance of getting a ressie!

We got a 2 bedroom for a week in late July at 7 months out. A few weeks after we made the reservations, we called back and "shifted" the week to start on a Thursday instead of Saturday, and also added another day with no problem.

Wow! That's great Karen!

I had no problem at less than 5 months out! I was able to reserve 2 studios (for 3 nights each) at VGC for this month and I made the reservations back in September, 2009. I was quite surprised at the availability!! :thumbsup2

Thanks for posting! Good to know!

1BR for May 23 - 7 months out. No problem. Maybe it is not as sold out as some would think? Or maybe the vacation times are more spread out here such that one particular week or time period is not that much more popular than other times. Ours is a Sunday through Thursday - my DH will be attending a conference in Anaheim and we all decided to go because this is available.

Dont think you will have a problem this year... at 3 months we got the 24th thru 26th of Dec, one bedroom. Imagine this will change once the resort sells more points.

I think it will change as VGC get more sold out and disney starts selling hawaii. Hawaii is going to be marketed to the west coast and Asia. They will be more likely to go to disneyland in CA and therefore I think there is going to be some stiff competition for the 7 month reservations. Now there has been some rumors that if VGC sells they might try some other similar DVC resorts at Disneyland but I have not seen anything official about that. I called right at 7 months and was able to book a 1 bedroom without any problems. You can use points and stay at th eother 2 hotels. The points aren't as good of a deal and I think you have to pay a fee as well.

I made a 1-bedroom reservation for the following week, less than 2 months in advance. At that time, there was also "good availability" for the middle of March. These dates are in "Magic Season" so the points needed are much higher than earlier in the year.

This thread (currently 130 pages) creates a history of VGC over the last year.

I expect both sales and bookings to increase once World of Color opens :thumbsup2
