Just got a call from DVC that our cat 6 room has been upgraded to a cat 4 by DCL!!!! We are right next to the Walt Disney Suite! Sweet!

Can I buy pixie dust? I wouldn't mind an upgrade to a verandah (currently in a cat 9). Do they keep that where the candy sprinkles are in the grocery store? I checked DCL and for my cruise it doesn't look like there's anything left higher than a cat 10, so I probably won't get to upgrade at port.

We always request 8528. (on the Wonder) It is next to the roy o disney suite and we love it.

We had that room on our last 7 night cruise. It was a pixie dust upgrade as well! I hope the people in the Walt Suite on your cruise are nicer than the ones on ours.

We also were upgraded for next Thurs from a GTY cat 12 to a cat 9! It's our 1st free upgrade and the kids are sailing free too. Happy cruising!!

got our cabin assigned about a month ago. no phone call, just showed up on our cruise details on our CC login (still identified as a GTY cat 12, but the cabin is a Deluxe ocean view room on deck 2.) We are lucky we got the upgrade since it appears the sailing is sold out. very pleased! it was the 1st oom assigned to us

well, being a fam of 4, we knew would get an automatic upgrade to a least a cat 11, but I am very happy no matter what! we reserve what we know we can stay in. if pixie dust is availabale (free or $$), then we'll be surprised! We have paid for upgrades at the port (we gave up SPH to a balcony for a couple of hundred $$). Being a short stay of only 3 nites, i could sleep on a deck chair and be happy! (moon rays are much safer than the sun's! )

So when you type in 2 adults 2 children on the "find a cruise" page, it will still list cat 12's although it cannot accomdate 4? Curious...

Awesome!! I just got an upgrade today too! From 11 to 8! The Pixie Dust is flying!!

Thanks, guys. After I posted, I called my sister, who is also cruising with us, along with her family and a friend's family. Turns out we all got upgraded. We booked ours through DVC, they booked through a TA. Our ressies are linked, and we all got adjacent cabins (# 8028, 8026, 8024). I don't know why we all got upgraded, but it's not something I ever expected. A DVC rep called me, and my sister's TA called her. I don't know why or how we got it, but we'll take it!

I am on the same cruise and also got a call today, for free upgrade from Cat 7 to Cat 4. However, I turned it down because it is just my elderly DM and myself. We both really like the Navigator Verandah and I specifically booked my favorite stateroom. It's been so cold here that I was afraid my mom wouldn't get much use of a "regular" verandah due to her tendency to get "chilly," and since it's just the two of us, I thought perhaps a "family" would better benefit from the Cat. 4.

So congratulations on all of you getting upgraded! Wow - Looks like they had a lot of availability on deck 8. Maybe it won't be a very full ship.

Question: We reserved a Cat 6 cabin and were put on GTY status without requesting it. The cruise line called my agent yesterday and offered to upgrade us to Cat 4 for $300. Is that common? Is that a good deal? I turned it down, though they said we could still call until Friday if we change our mind. I'm kinda sad that they're offering the upgrade to others for free, but asking us to pay for it. We're sailing on 2/27.
