Sorry - Yet Another Palo Dress Question.

We've been on a 3 night DCL Cruise and did Palo dinner -
Loved it
But noticed That not all the men had Jackets on.

Now comes Our first 7 day
And we're going back to Palo Dinner -
Can anyone who's been let me know
what is acceptable for men at dinner?
Absolutely a jacket or is a dress shirt and dress pants
acceptable as well?

The jacket is only recommended. They do not enforce wearing one. But they do normally enforce the part about no jeans, shorts, tanks etc. You will find that more mean wear jackets on the 7-day cruise. The 7-day has a bit more dressy atmosphere with formal night and such.

During dinner, gentlemen will be required to wear a dress shirt. Gentlemen wearing polo shirts, t-shirts, Tommy Bahama style shirts, etc will not be allowed admittance. Jackets and/or ties are recommended but not required. Notices will be in the Personal Navigator, on the Palo reservation card and a sign outside the elevators on deck 10 will contain this dress advisory. The Resort Casual dress code for both the brunch and high tea remains unchanged.

I totally agree with above poster that the Magic is more dressy than the Wonder.

Did they change the part about no polo shirts? We see them every cruise in Palo. But it has been about 6 months since our last cruise. I've also seen a number of the nice "non-floral" Tommy Bahama shirts.

My husband did not bring a jacket for our 7 night Tortola cruise on the Magic back in April.
No problems. I even saw men with an open dress shirt ( white t underneath), with dress slacks of course. We sat beside a couple of men in Tuxs.
You will be fine with out a jacket.

I will say , we saw a couple turned away ( black jeans/black shirts ...lots of pins/ studs on their face....they were upset, but really looked out of place.

They haven't changed the written guidelines. What is enforced is much more individualized. If you look reasonable, you'll probably get in. If you look like you didn't make an effort, you may be asked to return to your stateroom and change.

There were very few on our cruise if any (don't remember seeing any) that did not have a jacket at dinner. Now brunch was polos and slacks. THis is not meant at you - it just seems that DCL recommends something to help maintain the environment they are trying to portray, but it seems alot of people want to see what is the least they can do without being thrown out. Now if you don't have a jacket that is one thing, but if it is jsut a want to be different, put on the jacket and have a great time!
