The Most Expensive Free Trip Ever - TR Link is Up! Pg. 164

Okay spreadsheet lovers! I will give you a glimpse of my Master Plan. (Why does that sound funny to me? Like something Dr. Evil would say. :stir: muhaaha!) Here’s the extent I do my planning. For actual park touring, as in what rides to hit when, I usually make a plan the morning of….while we’re on our way to the park. Scary, I know.

Oh, special thanks to Cynthia, Jenbear, and Great Biscuit for offering advice on how to get my spreadsheets into a form I could post here. Here’s how I ended up doing it. I printed from Excel as a pdf file using CutePDF. Then, opened them in Adobe Acrobat (professional version) and saved them to a JPEG file (separate files for each page). I don’t think you can save as a JPEG file with Adobe Reader. Then I uploaded the JPEG files to Photobucket and, voila.

The Master Plan (so far):

2010_Plan_12_30_09.jpg

I print this (and the following few pages) reeeaaaaalllly small, and carry them around in my wallet. My family laughs at my microfiche Master Plan and other pages. Can you believe that?! A lot of you swear by binders, but I just don’t want to carry that around. I have enough park gear already. My system worked for me last year, at least until I took a little trip down the Kali River Rapids. :rolleyes1

On the Master Plan I also include my ADR numbers, but I’ve hidden that row since I’m posting it on the internet….wouldn’t want someone stealing my reservations! I also include, but have hidden, TGM’s park recommendations since I have promised not to divulge that info. (it’s a pay site). And you can’t tell by the parks I’m going to -- several of my park choices are not TGM’s recommended parks. Where I show 2 or 3 potential parks and the one I've chosen, those were just my guesses before TGM published their recommendations. I may rethink my plan, but chances are it’ll stay like I have it here.

The rest of the pages below are from last year, so I’ll have to validate the info. for this year as the time draws nearer.

Next up: Tables in Wonderland participating restaurants, in case we’re stopping for a meal at a time I don’t already have an ADR, or we just need a :drinking1

Fastpass rides. I think some of these were incorrect even last year.

The next two are Epcot World Showcase entertainment times. The file got saved with the small print settings, so I know it’s hard to read. If you really want to read it, let me know and I’ll repost them larger. The second page prints way to the right so that I can copy them, 2 pages to 1 page double sided, and they’ll end up back-to-back. :thumbsup2

These last two happen to be tabs in the same spreadsheet as the “Master Plan”, but aren’t something I need for the parks…they’re our Garden Grocer order from last year. I know anyone out there thinking about ordering groceries is curious about what other people order, so I’ll post it. This was just about the right amount of food for us last year, where there were 5 of us in a suite for 7 days, but with several meals eaten in restaurants. Caution: you can go broke on apples. :scared1: And, is that a Pop Tart order I see? :cloud9:

I had to laugh…I was looking at these in Photobucket and there’s a box on the left side of the screen where they try to sell you your pictures on a mug, t-shirt, cards, etc. It’s kind of funny to see my grocery order on a mug! :lmao:

I had a momentary image of you standing at a check in podium and pulling a microfiche roll out of a secret slot on your sunglasses & a prism out of your watch in order to decode your Dining Reservation #'s. :lmao: You'd be like super-sly Disney spy guy.

That's awesome!

Love the Spreadsheets by the way. I'm all about The Plan.

Uh yeah, that is what I do. Sure. :smooth:
;)

I know, I read the first few installments of your TR a couple of days ago. You got bitten by the planning bug early!

Hey Glennbo!

Just found your ptr. I am so with you on the mini spreadsheet! I do the same thing. I've even laminated them. Yep, I'm a planning dork. I like to do a binder that stays in the room, AND a mini spreadsheet to take with. Also, I bring a tiny copy of every park CS restaurant menu, so when we're in the park and its time for lunch I can ask the others where they want to eat, and give the illusion (and it is just an illusion;)) of NOT being a control freak with everything all decided. Okay, they still think I'm a freak, but they're greatful for it!:thumbsup2

So glad you got it all figured out so you could share your Master Plan (MUAH HA HA HA) with us

Same thing happens to me with my itinerary. Yes, I want to wear my itinerary on a shirt. Then I'll never forget where I need to be and neither will anyone else in the park! :rotfl2:

As far as I can tell by comparing your TIW list to the one I got when I bought my TIW in November, it's pretty much the same. If in doubt, just ask if they accept it! Worst thing they can say is no.

You're really ahead of yourself with having your full trip all planned out. I'm going in April and only just starting my itinerary!!! Teach me oh wise one :worship: :rotfl2:

EDIT: I can't believe they charge PER APPLE and not per pound/kilo CRAZY!

$1 for an apple??!!?? that's crazy...I pay that for a pound of apples, sometimes even less.

Great spreadsheets, reminds me I need to dust mine off. I also carry a copy. I like the binder idea but think it is to bulky.
Did you use all the GG stuff-about how many meals did it cover

Favorite Drew Carry Show quote of all time:

"Hey Drew, what do you like on your salad?"

"Pie."

:lmao:

Oh that was funny. You had to be there. Quit staring at me like that.

Somehow I've missed your TR.

Got something to read tomorrow!

A little late but thought you would like this.....

Me: "Honey...Did you see the episode on The Drew Carry Show where Drew was asked what he would like on his pie?"

DH: "No. But it makes sense to me!"

Me: Uuuuuh, Yea!! Der! " ;)

Welcome, welcome, :welcome: Sleepingbooty!
I'm glad you stopped by!

Oooo, I like the lamination idea. :worship: on the menu copies! Wow, that's more effort than I plan to expend. A day is soon coming (already here?) when we'll have all of this info. on our little hand-held gadgets and phones, and we'll say "remember all the work we did to be able to bring this info. into the parks"?

Same thing happens to me with my itinerary. Yes, I want to wear my itinerary on a shirt. Then I'll never forget where I need to be and neither will anyone else in the park! :rotfl2:

Oh that'd be good! :rotfl2:

Hey Jordan, that might be good for Peepfest -- everybody gets a t-shirt with the group itinerary printed on it.

As far as I can tell by comparing your TIW list to the one I got when I bought my TIW in November, it's pretty much the same. If in doubt, just ask if they accept it! Worst thing they can say is no.

Yeah, that's what I did last year. I remember going into Cooke's of Dublin and asking them if they took TIW, or gave an AP discount, or a DVC discount....how 'bout AAA??!!! They gave me some kind of discount.

You're really ahead of yourself with having your full trip all planned out. I'm going in April and only just starting my itinerary!!! Teach me oh wise one :worship: :rotfl2:

I'm a piker compared to a lot of obsessive-compulsive planners on these boards!

Oh, there goes one now. (See comment above.)

thank heavens we can't smell these threads!! Laughing about poop and farts is one thing but smelling it...:scared:

Yeah, somebody would probably PM you a "dutch oven", if you know what I mean.

$1 for an apple??!!?? that's crazy...I pay that for a pound of apples, sometimes even less.

Tell me about it. I'm not a huge fan of apples -- I can take 'em or leave 'em -- so I had a hard time paying those prices, but others in the family eat them pretty regularly. And we figured the Disney prices were probably comparable, if we bought them in the resort store.

Great spreadsheets, reminds me I need to dust mine off. I also carry a copy. I like the binder idea but think it is to bulky.

I think it was about 3 dinners, (although one of those was just the kids, Judy and I went on a date night) 6 or 7 breakfasts (we never had a restaurant breakfast) ranging from Pop Tarts to cereal to toast to bacon and eggs, and about 2 days where we packed lunches to take into the parks. Then we had 1 last night dinner where we cleaned-up leftovers.

And I just noticed you have a spot for The Wave this trip! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2 So glad you're giving it a try! Remember, ask to be seated with Dan. Hope you like it as much as we did :goodvibes

I'm glad you reminded me of your server's name....I'll have to add that to the Master Plan spreadsheet!

The girls LOVE knock knock jokes. Tahli's current favorite:

Knock, Knock

Who's there?

Interrupting cow.

Interrupting co.....

MOOOOOOOOO!

It was funny the first dozen or so times.

just saw the spreadsheets, lists, etc. i'm super impressed! any sort of organization of anything just makes me happy....it helps to cope with my slight OCD....especially when it comes to disney. good job! :thumbsup2
