Here's what a little PIXIE DUST can do ....... a dining review+pics COMPLETED!!!!!

great review! We really enjoyed Tutto and that dessert if my favorite! Completely worth the price, although we were on DxDP.

Yay for you getting a great deal with your AP, defo a great start to the year :)

Loving the Ohana review and pics, looks soooo yummy! I am so there with you on the lo mein noodles cooling, we found that they were brough out too early and by the time our meat came they were stone cold. This year we are thinking about asking them to hold back and bring them out when the meat comes (hopefully they can do that).

Great Tutto review :)

Yum yum. I really think our experience at Tutto could have been so much better had we been able to order that sole...it looks absolutely delicious. And so to the desserts!

Yes, that sole really WAS so good, sorry you didn't get to try it! Maybe next time? ;)

Your sole looked really good, I love lemon and caper sauce. :goodvibes

As always, another great review.:thumbsup2

Loved that sole dish! I hope it stays on the menu - this is worth to try again! :lmao:

We have yet to have a horrible meal at Tutto - so far we loved everything we had!

Great Tutto review :)

Thanks for sharing my excitement about getting that great deal! Not that Disney won't get that money anyway, as this made the decision to cancel our Pop bounceback FD reservation so much easier and we will get a new one at OKW with Disney.co.uk (more than 40% off AND FD, which we will upgrade to the DxDDP)! :lmao:

We have decided on skiping Ohana next summer - there are so many other restaurants we want to try - so no fast cooling Lo Mein Noodles for us! ;)

Bon Jour mon ami!!!I LOVE sole and that veal roast looks delish!!!!When I went I had the Pasta with peas and ham it was outta this world !!! Dessert was a no brainer for me !!! TIRAMUSU !!! I love LOVE love it !!!

Love the review of Tutto! It is one that I just couldn't fit in this trip. DS and I loved it there last year! That fish looks really good!

Oh my gosh! I hope I didn't offend you by saying "German perspective!" I subscribe to so many TR/DR's, I think I get the authors confused! So sorry!
I may not be a big Ohana fan, but that bread pudding was the most delicious dessert of our trip! Could not agree more!
Your Tutto fish looks heavenly-- it's definitely on our list for our next trip!

Buongiorno, cara mia! We love Tutto! It is really close to "real" Italian food. I had the Tiramisu before and it was to die for but I wanted to try something else for a change, ;) and the zabaglione ice-cream is just fantastic and even better when paired with the fruit.

Such a shame you could not fit it in this past trip! Now you will have to go to WDW again :scared1: ;) Don't we always "need" a reason to go back! :lmao:

Joining in! All those pictures look yummy!!! And I love the cost/DDP analysis. I'm a big math geek like that. :goodvibes:

Welcome! I love to have you here. It's good to know I am not the only one interested in what we "spend" on food at WDW! Esp. when it is free! :thumbsup2

I am not in ANY way offended, :goodvibes! It's just that we Austrians are so often referred to as "German", because we share a common language! But since we are an independant country I take pride in letting everyone know that I am Austian!
Yes, I could not agree with you more about the Bread Pudding at Ohana! It is just the best!
And Tutto never let us down. We visited there a few times before and it was ALWAYS really yummy!

WOW! That sole looked fabulous!!!!!:thumbsup2

We love Tutto, and that sole just made my day! :goodvibes

Hi Dave,
I am SO SO SO sorry it again took me so long to update, but it was back to work this week and it just never leaves enough time for the Disboards! ;)
But, your wish is my command and Sci-Fi review coming up in a few more minutes! I am working on them! :surfweb:

Day 25, Sept 8

Lunch at Sci-Fi

We had a reservation at Sci-Fi at 11.10 this morning, so we headed out late after having a few bites of things in our fridge and a slice of Mickey cake.
When we arrived at the restaurant there was already a line but after we had signed in it only took about 2 minutes until we were called and led inside the restaurant and to our car.
We were the "hitchhikers" in the back of a car, sitting with a family of four. Our server arrived shortly after we were seated and took our DDP details, and then took our drinks order. Guess what, Diet Coke again! :rotfl2:

We started out with the Crispy Onion Rings - A generous portion of battered onion rings. It really was a generous portion, enough for the two of us to share, they were piping hot and crisp and not greasy at all.

IMG_3607.jpg

For my main course I had the Shrimp Pasta - Bow tie pasta and sauteed shrimp tossed with artichoke hearts, Kalamata olives, baby spinach and feta cheese, all my favourite ingredients! This is a generous portion as well and very tasty and nice. The shrimp were plump and juicy, the spinach just right and the crumbled feta cheese gave it just the right amount of saltiness. Only downside, it is so dark, you hardly see what you are eating! :lmao:

IMG_3608.jpg

Tom had the Smoked St. Louis-style Ribs - Basted with barbecue sauce served with baked beans and french fries. All I can say is that I tried a bite and it was really good. The meat was falling off the bone and very tasty. Tom finished it all, I can't say that about my pasta dish!

IMG_3610.jpg

I definitely wanted to try the Peanut Butter-Chocolate Cake - Warm chocolate cake with a creamy peanut butter center served a la mode. I love peanut butter, I love chocolate, pair those two and you have got heaven. Well, I never found the promised creamy peanut butter center and the chocolate part was overly sweet, and since I was full I gave up after a few bites. Don't know if I would order it again, I guess next time I go with the cheesecake again if they still offer it.

Tom had the Hot Fudge Sundae - vanilla ice cream with hot fudge, whipped cream and a cherry. They DO make great sundaes and this one was definitely one of them. Creamy ice-cream, lots of hot fudge and whipped cream! He loved it.

So what did we actually cost Disney?
12 CS credits = $ 245,60 (12 CS credits remain)
Sci-Fi = $ 65,30
14 TS credits = $ 516,90 (8 TS credits remain)
2 snack credits = $ 7,00 (22 snack credits remain)
all in all = $ 834,80
(only accounting for the things covered by the DDP!! Not covering any items purchased OOP)

Next up - dinner at Le Cellier

Sorry I've been missing in action -- I've been without my home computer for four weeks and FINALLY have it back.

As I'm sitting here eating my salad for lunch (self-imposed and doctor ordered diet), I am drooling over the onion rings at SciFi. Nicki encouraged us to get them when we were there in September and they were OUT OF THIS WORLD! The Shrimp Pasta dish looks yummy too...I think I'll try that next visit.

Back to work and then home to finish shoveling the 10 inches of snow we got yesterday/this morning. :sad2:

Yay! Thank you Karin. I needed a foodie fix. Those desserts look AWESOME! We've never eaten at Sci Fi, and I actually had no idea the restaurant was so unique. I Googled it and looked at some pics of the "tables"...that looks like a really fun place to eat!

Do you know if you went during an "off" time, like mid-afternoon, if you could just get dessert? Or would that be sort of rude?

Thanks again for the update!

Kathy, I am glad you are back!
I guess I need to go on a diet too! With all the food we have planned in just 5 more weeks :scared1: I definitely need to loose a few pounds, so I can put them back on with Mickey food! :rotfl2:
And guess who got us hooked on the Sci-Fi onion rings ......... Nicki! :lmao:

I am keeping my fingers crossed for you so you don't get any more snow. We're having a winter storm here in Europe too, named DAISY!! :lmao: So far it has not hit our area - I am hoping it's going to miss us!
Tom (master of the shovel) does not need any more new work and esp. not shovelling snow!

The restaurant is very unique. As you might have seen, you are actually dining inside your "car" in a drive in movie theater. And I do not think it would be rude if you just go for desserts! I would get an ADR (or try walkup at an off time) and have desserts and you should be done in one "loop" of movies. These are a lot of very old trailers of black and white movies. I am sure you would enjoy them.
Their milkshakes are nice and they have "adult" shakes as well, check out allears menu for that. Their sundae is great and here is my favourite dessert.

It's cheesecake with caramel sauce and lots of treats! Yummyyyyyyyyyyyy! :thumbsup2

Yummy, onion rings! We do the regulary DDP, which is unfortunate. None of the Sci Fi entrees appeal to me-- I'm all about the spinach and articoke dip and those onion rings!!

As always enjoying your reviews, love the Disney food of course but enjoy all the "extras" you add, airplane food and all! :goodvibes

Stay Warm ;)

Oh Kat, do I know how you feel. Healthy eating and looking at this Disney food=not a good idea. One little onion ring couldn't hurt right? Ha ha. And as for the snow, we were hit pretty good down here just south of 80. I am grateful that being in a townhome our association is responsible for our driveway shoveling! Phew! Hope you didn't freeze out there!

May I suggest a snack stop for onion rings, the artichoke dip and a shake or dessert? ;)
We have done a lot of sharing at Sci-Fi and have always been welcome. If you have never been, go at least once - it is a fun place to be!

Glad you enjoy the reviews! I love doing all the extras - for us it is all part of the "American" experience! :lmao:

Loved the review !!! The cheesecake was delish!!! I agree it is too dark!!!

This is one of the best cheesecakes I have had!
Even though I have a hard time reading the menu, the drive in movie theater feel lures us in often! ;)
