Playing Music in room??

Is there anything to play music on in the staterooms - like a CD or any speakers for an Ipod?

Correct....on the Magic and Wonder only the Cat 1, 2, 3 suites have an IPod docking station....but....on the new Disney Dream all cabins will have an IPod docking station!!

Which ship? Magic and Wonder, jilljill is right, nothing in cat 4-12. On the Dream, reports are that there will be an ipod docking station.

I wonder why? I mean, I know cat 1-3 are much bigger, but do you REALLY think they will be more quiet? i dont plan on being in my room that long but still. It doesn't seem to make sense to me.

Ditto! I had work to do during the cruise. Just to keep up to prepare for the following work week.
Mind you, the ship kept me going so much, I did not stay in my stateroom too long to listen to music.

The 1-3 category cabins have more amenities than the 4-12 cat cabins...that is why they have docking stations. There also have other amenities that other cabins do not have.

No, there is nothing unless you are in a suite. Bring your own if you want it (I have a set of folding Ipod speakers that weighs nothing, takes up barely any room, and puts out pretty decent sound). You may want to bring an alarm clock because there won't be one of those either, unless you can set that rudimentary ship's propeller clock they put in the rooms for an alarm. Possibly battery operated, because you can't plug anything in near the beds on the Magic or Wonder.

The fact that the suites have Ipod docks has nothing to do with their being quiet - it's that they want to provide suite guests with more amenities.

Have no idea if the ship will supply onboard Ipod docks for charging, but it's easy and inexpensive to get your own plug-in charger for an Ipod. If you have lots of things to charge, bring a multi-outlet extension cord because there aren't a lot of outlets.

If you are interested in alarm clock docks for your apple devices then check out your area TJ Maxx or Marshalls. I picked up a iHome ih27 for $25. It was open box missing the travel bag. They have other models there that range in price from $39.99-69.99 including the newer travel alarm clock ih24 that retails for $79. I think TJ Maxx and Marshals have it for $49 if memory serves me right.

My other suggestion if you are not interested in an alarm clock dock would be to get a cheap pair of powered computer speakers to plug into your device.
