Rental Procedure--Advice Please

Hi,

I have some points I need to rent due to an impending job loss.

I have transferred points once before, which was a very easy process, but I am pretty confused about the best way to rent points. I am looking for a step by step because I can see all kinds of caveats.:confused3

Is there any way to do this without a three-way call? If you check for reservations, they might not be available once you receive payment, so I don't understand how you would do this without a three-way call.

Any experiences or advice would be appreciated!:thumbsup2

Thanks!!

Check out the threads at the top of the Rent/Trade board. They should also have some links to contracts.

There really is no need to do a three way call. Just get dates, places, size of villa from the non-member and when you call, see if their first choice is available and make the reservation. Notify them that the reservation has been made and they need to pay you.

Let them know up front that they might not get their first choice and they need to have alternate choices as well.

Thanks, Deb.

Can you tell me what you might to after you book...do you give the reservation # to the renter? Is the reservation confirmation/detail page sent to their home? Or is it sent to you and you then forward it to them?

I think I made a reseravation for a family member once and it was sent to me, but it was in their name. I can't remember for sure!

Thanks in advance!:goodvibes

The confirmation should come to you, but you can scan it or forward it to the non-member. You might want to give them the reservation number so they can check it out on the Disney site. I don't remember the link, but it's here somewhere in the DIS.

it seems that Disney is now tracking where these reservations are originating from as the first screen asks how you made your reservation. This is new, and "a DVC Membership" is included in the choices! Very interesting.....
