Will my luggage be at my room in time for early dinner seating?

My DH thinks we should pack our first nights dinner clothes in our carry on in case we dont get our luggage in time. I really dont think it's necessary and I don't want us to look all wrinkled . And I'm not wearing the same outfit for lunch as I do dinner with my luck I'll spill something on it before then. Do they usually get your luggage to your room before first dinner seating?

Not always. The first night is usually casual dress because not everybody gets their luggage by dinner.

Usually you'll have your luggage right after the safety drill (if not before). Even if luggage doesn't arrive, dinner the first night is very casual.

We don't carry dinner clothes in our carry ons....my logic is that the less there is in the carry on, the better!

Just pack a Tide stick and tuck that napkin into your neck at lunch! :lmao:

(as a chronic spiller, this has USUALLY worked for me)

.

We got our luggage right after the safety drill, but since I didn't realize that the first night dinner was casual and I had an early seating, I unpacked immediately and missed the sail away party. Don't do that, my hubby and kids had a blast and I missed it...and I was not happy with myself. Go as you are, nobody will through you out of the dining room.

I think I have been lucky, all mine, always arrive within one hour of getting our room, ie 2.30pm. In fact on one cruise it was there outside the room on arrival at 1.30pm.

DCL do say prepare for it not to arrive by 6pm Dinner, but I have always found it efficient, bar the one bag delivered to my room last cruise, for someone else on the other side of the ship!!!

Well ,I lied and told my DH and DD's that they couldn't wear jeans to dinner. ;) Were just wearing casual dresses and DH is wearing khakis so I'm hoping we get our luggage before dinner.

We arrived at the port around 1:00 and our luggage was waiting for us when we returned from eating lunch around 3:30. I was pleasantly surprised to have it so early.

In 5 cruises we have never had our luggage arrive later than 5, usually by 4.

That said, I suppose it might not make it. So what? You're on vacation, dress for dinner is casual, and you are the only one knowing you wore the same outfit for lunch and dinner (heavens!). Even with a spill, the dinner atmosphere is so friendly and welcoming, unless you sit with the grinches (then it is their problem).

But...your luggage will almost certainly be there in time. And don't miss the sail away party!

In the cruise terminal after checking in, we were given business side cards that said "your luggage will be available in your stateroom (or was it outside) at 1:30" and sure enough it was, in fact it was there a little sooner than that. So perhaps it's safe to say you can go by that card that Disney gives you stating what time your luggage will be available!:wizard:
