Limo question

We are thinking of surprising the kids and getting a limo from the airport to the port. It is actually cheaper than us renting a car one-way. I can't find any car rentals one-way less than $200 for our family of 6. If we just had 5 of us it would make a huge difference. Anyhow....anyone have any advice for the limo? They do have seatbelts right? For some reason that just is in the back of my mind. We were planning on using Happy Limo with the mousesavers code. Advice? Thanks!

We used Happy Limo in 2005 for our WDW land vacation. They were FABULOUS! We originally rented a town car and when the driver picked us up he was driving a Ford Excursion stretch limo.....it was huge! We looked like royalty pulling into the CBR!! He said all the town cars we out and he had to take what was left in the fleet. No extra charge to us. Clean cars and friendly drivers. Would use again in a heartbeat!

Unfortunately, we have too much luggage now and my hubby LOVES the Space Coast area so we rent a car now. Car rentals aren't cheap either but DH loves to explore Cocoa Beach area a little more each time we head down.

Enjoy!

I would definitely recommend the surprise limo!!

We just returned from a 3 night cruise on the Wonder and a week in Disneyworld. We did Universal the day before the cruise and stayed in Orlando.
We have a family of 5 and surprised our three sons with a limo from Happy Limo. It was wonderful! The boys were STUNNED and it made the ride to the cruise so magical. We booked a Lincoln Stretch limo for the round trip.
Our driver was Gary and he was wonderful. He had the limo stocked with pop and juice and a movie on the DVD player.

We were all a little sad at the end of the cruise, despite knowing we were heading off to Disney World for a week. When we walked over to meet Gary for our ride home, he stunned us with a complimentary upgrade to a stretch Escalade limo! We were all floored! It certainly took the sting out of leaving the Wonder behind us.

(You can also arrange for a 15 minute market stop. We picked up some bottle water and wine on the way there. On the return trip, we picked up milk, cereal, fruit and yogurt for breakfast in our hotel each morning.)

Enjoy your trip!

Thanks so much for the recommendation. I'm sold! We were toying with taking Disney transfers BACK to the airport after the cruise though. Wouldn't it make the luggage handling easier? Or not? Any thoughts there? Thanks again!

DCL transfers are expensive. IF you are on a participating airline and IF you qualify for the onboard check in, the luggage service is "worth it." If you are not on a participating airline or if your flight doesn't fit into the time frame for onboard check in, you will go thru the same process whether you use the DCL bus or use a private limo/towncar service. In fact, the towncar driver is usually more help (he wants a tip!)

Our last cruise we had no problems picking our luggage up and then sending my hubby to the Hertz dealer. The car rental companies circle the drive at the Disney Port Area. We are renting a car this time as well. I wouldn't hesitate to use Happy Limo either. It is comparable in price since we are traveling with 5 (4 in my family + Gma) so the luggage bumps us up another catagory for car rentals. We plan on making a shopping stop to kill time before we have to check into the airport so hence we are renting a car this time. DCL transfers can be pricey. This trip, as a rule, we are only taking one suitcase a piece. We overpacked some much the last time that my DH felt like a rented mule hauling all our luggage! Plus now we would have to pay for each checked bag which would add at least $100 to our trip.

Many choices to choose from!
