Wow did that almost go bad!!! AKV

So here I am making sure I have everything ready for MS for our Sept trip to AKV Grand Villa paradise, I had my choice of Jambo or Kidani, ended up choosing Jambo because of the balconies and pool table plus there are only 6 of us so we didnt need the extra couch. Any how, I had my ressie and wondered if each Jambo GV had a pool table so I called MS to give my savannah preference and asked "do all Jambo GV's have pool tables?" the conversation went like this;

Me- Do all Jambo GV's have pool tables?
MS-no, Jambo GV's do not have pool tables, that is Kidani
Me- I don't think so, Jambo has the one story GV's not Kidani
MS- Kidani is our new building, it has the pool tables not Jambo
Me- I REALLY dont believe that is correct, but if it is I have made a mistake and need to correct it!
MS- can you hold while I do some research
Me- Sure..................I am out in my shed away from the computer
MS- I spoke with my supervisor and yes it is Kidani that has the pool tables I show availability, would you like to switch your reservation?
Me- Boy I cannot imagine that I am wrong on this, I saw it all over the internet that Jambo had the pool table not kidani
MS- I guess the internet sites were wrong.....
Me- hmmmmmm okay.........


Well as soon as we hung up, I was on my way back to the house to check again...So I called back after confirming, spoke with a great girl named helen, and she she would confirm from multiple sources and insure they all gave the same answer...she did, but her supervisor was the only one who said the pool tables were at Kidani!!! Helen called Jambo and asked!!! She saved the day, or I saved the day by somehow knowing more about the Grand Villas that I have never once stayed in then an MS CM and her supervisor...

Never thought that would happen....maybe its a sign....look out Jim Lewis..I might be coming for your job...

I'm glad that you had the info prior to talking to MS and were able to get what you wanted! Maybe you need to send a nice card to the supervisor with a picture of the pool table at Jambo?!??!?

I had actually asked MS when I called if there were any other differences between Jambo and Kidani other then the pool table and second floor. He really didn't know. He said oh look I have a book right her conveniently. Yeah so... I think I'm gonna trust my research more then theirs lol. He was very nice though lol.

When in September are you going? We'll be there the last week into the 1st two days of October. I wanted to make a SV request, but I have no idea which one to request lol.

Hi there! We are going 18Sep (sat) -24 Sep (fri) I have requested the Uzima savanna, in the following order 5593 5564 followed by 5394 and 5363. The other big difference is the loft area seating at Kidani, but we are only going with six family members so that wasn't a big deal to us.

Only six people in a grand villa--wow! Congratulations on getting the right locale. It is sometimes scary how little the CMs at MS know. Of course the DVC member website only shows the floorplan for the Jambo House GV, so it's quite possible the CMs information is limited.

Yes, the DVC website is very confusing. The floor plans and 360-degree room tours show a Kidani studio, 1BR and 2BR but the Jambo House GV. It probably confuses a lot of people.

To the OP: Based on your experience it seems there are a few CMs there who are providing incorrect information. It might help if you report this by sending a brief email to Member Services or maybe even to Member Satisfaction.

This isn't just sad, it's scary that we pay for MS with our dues and they are that ill informed and trained about the product in which we are paying them to be informed of. Honestly, I think something like this deserves two letters, one for the person who assisted you successfully and one for the person who failed miserably. This situation should be addressed!

I would follow up with a Team Line Manager.

The Member Satisfaction team does an excellent job making Members feel better, but little more. If you call MS and ask to speak to a Team Line Manager, you can discuss the issue with them and they can forward the information on to the Training Team.

The Team Line Managers are knowledgeable Senior Advisers and they have access to all information related to the DVC.

The first website (Disney's), is the earlier drawing of the GV, the second site, (DVC) is what they actually built. And they are awesome! The master bath has a TV and walk in closet with chest. We loved it there!

I forgot about the loft at Kidani. We'll be traveling with one senior citizen and our 2 children who will be under 2 1/2 and 1. We thought about a Kidani GV but we figured the 1 floor arrangement would be better for this situation.

When you say you requested 5593 5564 is that a specific room? Can you request a specific room with the GV's? We haven't had our 1st DVC stay yet. Come next September it will be our second, but I'm still new at this. I apologize if this is a dumb question.

I think the single story floor plan would be better for a senior as well, I will let you know when I get back As far as the room request "Yes" I have requested my rooms in the order I desire as there are only 6 grand villas at Jambo and figure I have a pretty good shot! I sent an email listing my room choices in order, we shall see.
