Did you visit in Nov or Dec? Question for you.

We visited WDW early Nov and downtown disney holiday items were full price. Were prices reduced after mid Nov? Last year we were there in early Dec and many items were discounted half price.

I did not go in November or December this year but...

I have been in mid-November for the last 5 years...the holiday merchandise was not discounted then. Several years ago, we went in mid-December and those items started being marked down (50%) while we were there. Two years ago, again in mid-December, the holiday stuff was marked down before we got there and was almost gone.

Like the rest of the retail world, the markdowns seem to start earlier and earlier!

I was at The Screen Door at The Boardwalk and needed to buy a sweatshirt for a very cold day. The tag said $45.00, however I was charged half price. I was grateful for the lower price because I was really grumbling about having to buy one. This was around December 11th. There were no discounted signs at all. I spoke to a friend about this, and she said that it happens every December, but only to the items that have the year printed right on them. My hooded sweatshirt said "Disney World 2009"

We were there dec 12- 19th and I purchase 3 christmas ornaments from Downtown disney. I was charged full price.

We were there until 11/20 and went during the first 2-3 weeks of December the previous 3 years. Last year was the only time we've encountered that type of sale throughout the parks/resorts- and it included lots of other things besides just holiday merch (t-shirts, hats, mugs...)

In our experience over the past several years, they generally markdown dated merchandise towards the end of the year, but I've never seen general Christmas/Holiday merchandise marked down. My guess would be because (unlike regular retail stores) WDW sells Christmas merchandise all year long - at the very least in the Christmas shops in MK and DTD.

ETA: you can sometimes find some discounted WDW holiday merch at the Character Premier outlets

We couldn't find 2009 stuff either (left WDW Thu). A lot of 2010 stuff though.

Our receipt from food in the parks contained a 20% off coupon for a number of stores include World of Disney - downtown. It had to be used between 9 am and noon. So we used that.

Oct 31 to Nov 9 of 2008- no discounted dated mds

Oct 30 to Nov 9 of 2009- no discounted dated mds

Nov 30 to Dec 10 of 2005- dated mds went 50% on the 8th

My sister was there last year from about the 17th of Dec and I know she left on the 23rd... she said when she arrived tons (not just dated) stuff was on sale 50% off, but stock was very poor. they also had 40% off all tees and hats and maybe a few other things. I think by the time the Cmas week crowd came in there was so little left, they learned from that mistake last year.

We were there the first two weeks in December and we did buy our MVMCP things for half price. All the 2009 things were half price too. I should say the clothing was.

We were there 11/13-16...bought 2009 dated merchandise at DTD on the 14th for full price, next day saw the same stuff in the store at CR for 50% off. Not sure if this was just the store at CR or if it was park-wide.
