I have stayed at all of the moderate resorts at one time or another and am looking at staying at a deluxe resort when I visit Disney World in 2010.

The ones that appeal to me are: Board Walk, Beach Club, Wilderness Lodge and Contemporary.

If you've stayed at any of these resorts, let me know what you thought about them. And, if you have another choice - let me know about that one too.

Thanks ... Joyce

I would go with the Contemporary because of their overall location to the Magic Kingdom which speaks for itself, Resort Monorail access, the walkway to the Magic Kingdom and their rooms are the biggest of the resorts your asking about and their Cast Members are among the best I have ever seen in WDW.

Wilderness Lodge....I chose first by price then location, we want the MK area and like being on the water, by what you have listed, WL is the cheapest, a deluxe and very compact with easy access to the MK. We've done CR, Poly and Y&B resorts and like I said, prefer the MK group. The Poly is too overpriced and the CR is just too cold, was ideal back in the late 70's and 80's, too many changes not to our liking made us quit staying there, and we have over10 stays there. Monorail is over hyped in our minds, we've been in the lines waiting to board plus all the stops. everyone has a different pick but for location and my dollar, WL wins on atmosphere and ambiance.

My pick is the BC. I love the location to Epcot and HS, then it is just a bus ride to MK and AK. The pool is awesome, probably the best of the resorts. Lots to do over there with dining and also you have access to the BW restaurants as well as the Swan and Dolphin. Tons to do there and it is a wonderful hotel :) Good Luck in Decision

Wilderness Lodge, Beach Club, Boardwalk, and Contemporary in that order. :)

We love, love, love BC (and YC too!).

You can't beat Stormalong Bay, we love to be in walking distance to EPCOT, especially walking over for dinner, kids love the movies and campfire on the beach, and we just love the overall feel of the resort.

Can't wait to get back!

My two favs are WL and BW. If you plan to spend a lot of time at Epcot, the BW is really wonderful. Close to DHS and Epcot. The actual boardwalk is a great place to people watch, hang out, get coffee and baked goods in the morning or ice cream at night. The pool is really nice and I LOVE the slide! WL has a totally different feel but is our family favorite. Just a short boat ride from Mk and it feels so far away from the hustle and bustle of the parks -a great place to relax. I personally do not care for the overall feel for the Contemporary, so that would be last on my list.

Hi Joyce!

First of all, I'm not sure you can go wrong at any of the resorts. Probably just a matter of what appeals to you most.

My first love is Beach Club. I spend a lot of time in Epcot, specifically World Showcase and the ability to walk in there via the back entrance is priceless. Also love being able to walk to DHS. The pool is fantastic, of course. And the overall decor really appeals to me. Oops almost forgot Beaches 'n Cream and Yachtsman Steakhouse. :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

I also just stayed at Wilderness Lodge in December. I'm sure it's lovely at any time of year but seemed especially so at Christmas. Boat to the MK very convenient if spending a lot of time there.

Walking to the MK from The Contemporary would be cool as would being on the monorail line.

Welp, I've been absolutely no help. But I think the great thing is that there is a resort for everyone. And as I said, you can't choose wrong amongst the deluxes, at least I don't think so!

Let us know what you choose! :goodvibes

I agree with this post, in choices and reasons. My only difference is that BWI is the family favorite. Can't go wrong with BWI or WL! All comes down to the theming you like best, and which parks you want to be near.

I love the Wilderness Lodge! I would pick that one, but I have never stayed at the others, only visited.

Personally I cannot bring myself to stay outside the Magic Kingdom area. The Contemporary provides a very classic Disney experience that other resorts, and resort areas (such as the Epcot area) simply cannot match. After spending the day at a park besides the Magic Kingdom, there is a feeling of "coming home" to the Magic Kingdom area.

The monorail is extremely efficient and with renovations complete, the Contemporary has regained its status as one of the best resorts on property. :)

I've stayed at all 4 of the resorts you listed. Our favorite is the BC for these reasons: the sandy-bottom pool is GREAT for our young kids, campfire and movies on the beach each night, the boardwalk area is GREAT for kids and adults alike with the Espn Club, dance clubs, entertainment (magicians, piano man, etc.), carnival-type games, restaurants, shopping. Another major reason is the location -- it's just a mere 5 minute walk away from the International Gateway in Epcot, and also a boat ride or 20-minute walk away from HS.

I think you should think about which park(s) you may want to be closest to. For us personally, we love Epcot and HS, so the BC is perfect for us. The pool at BC is an added bonus for us.

BC is our resort of choice....

Not "Maybe the best pool at WDW"....

DEFINITELY the "Best Pool at WDW"!!! :rotfl:

If you guys don't swim...there are other reasons BC is Great!

BUT if swimming is part of your vaca....then def BC!!!

Hugs,
Mary
