Okay, here is my situation. My family (DH and 2 sons, 2 and 5) is going to be staying at VWL this February. My parents (who hate Disney...I know, this is heresy) agreed to meet up with us, and they will be staying at the Beach Club. They have generously offered to watch our DS2 so that DH and I can spend some time with DS5 in Epcot, enjoying attractions that are a bit tough with a limited-patience two year old.
My father mentioned to me that he wanted to take DS2 to Stormalong Bay, and he thought he'd really enjoy it. Now. I know Stormalong Bay is very strict in enforcing the no-guest policy. My DS is not a guest of the Beach Club, although my parents would be. I think my father (already not a fan of Disney) would be tremendously upset if there were any issue with not being able to use the pool with his grandson. So here are my questions:
1. Do I prime my dad for the possibility that he is going to encounter problems with this and just get the "I hate Disney" response over with now?
2. Are there any other non-Stormalong Bay activities that I can suggest on the resort premises to mitigate against #1?
3. Why do my parents hate Disney so much?
4. Why didn't they just book at WL to make things simple for me? Why do they have to be new and different all the time? Just saying.
I'd appreciate any feedback on #s 1 and 2 and, for those with a background in psychology, perhaps some feedback on the other questions as well.
