The Sea Witch Stole My Voice! Our Two Week Land and Sea Adventure! COMPLETE 4/12

:scared1: I always think of squirrels being the carriers of every deathly disease.

Tell me about it. I have had way too many encounter with nasty rodents. First I get a rat crawling up my leg and then I have a squirrel fly at my face. Why do these things always happen to me?

Great pics, Lessa! I liked the yellow house the best - closer to the water! I would even settle for the "quaint" one if I really had to! :rotfl2: Kenny Chesney lives on St. John. Maybe the white house is his.

Oh I love Kenny Chesney!! And hate squirrels!! I pretty much hate all rodents that don't work for Disney and wear clothes. :rotfl:

After the boat docked our guide informed us that we should all stay seated. They were going to load everybody onto the trucks based on excursion so he would call out each excursion and only those people should get off the boat. There were three different excursions on our boat and I thought this process was very orderly and organized. It enabled the staff to make sure that everybody got on the correct bus for their excursion.

Our group was last to be called and we all filed off the boat and were directed over to three open-air trucks that would transport us.

Once we were all loaded we began our drive. The boat docks in the little port town and it only takes a minute or two to get into the National Park. Just like Virgin Gorda there was a wonderful floral scent to the air, it smelt wonderful!

The drive was absolutely gorgeous, lots of lush green forest with glimpses of pristine white sand beaches.

A funny thing that we all noted was that every vehicle on the island seemed to be a Jeep or a Land Rover, mostly Jeeps though. The roads are very hilly and steep so I can understand why you would need that kind of vehicle on the island.

The roads were really well maintained and not bumpy at all, a very comfortable ride.

About 15 minutes into the drive our truck pulled over at an overlook of Trunk Bay which was our destination. Trunk Bay is rated as one of the top ten beaches in the world!

Ugh, not the best picture of me, but whatever.

They gave us a pretty generous amount of time to oh and ah over the view and to take pictures before driving the rest of the way to the beach.

Next update: Beautiful Trunk Bay and my first snorkeling adventure.

I never saw a single one while down there. They run rampant here in Kingston though. One nearly killed me over the summer. I was walking towards my office and as I was walking past a garbage can one leaped right out of it and flew right in front of my face. I swear, I nearly had a heart attack. Death by squirrel is what they would have had to put on my tombstone.
maybe he saved your life,

as seen from the squirrels point of view.

"that lady walking is on a collision course with a car at the next intersection she will get hit, i must slow her down."

"i got it, chuck you jump out at her"

" no way larry, she might run away and get to the road faster and get hit bythat car"

"well then jump at her face so she has to stop and cant run forward into the road"

"okay got it"

"ready.....go"

"here hold my nuts"

"okay now go"

"ahhhhhhhhhhh"

"yes crisis averted"

Looked Good to me !!!:cool1: Thebeac is truly beautiful!!!!:thumbsup2

Thanks Rosie! Trunk Bay was everything that I imagined it to be, simply gorgeous!

see i bet you did not think of it that way didcha

 Only flaw with that story is that it happened right outside my office so there were no cars or anything else dangerous around me.

The squirrels on our campus are vicious. They have been known to chew through screen windows in order to get into a house so they can ransake the kitchen. :sad2:

Where do you come up with this stuff...:worship::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Ahhh......Trunk Bay......:cloud9: It really is a piece of heaven on Earth and hardly anyone there.

Yep, we were so lucky that we were the only cruise ship in port that day. Pretty much the only people at Trunk Bay that day were the 30 or so people on our excursion and a few random day guests. It was not crowded at all.
