Nov 2009 Family Reunion in Disney with pics! Final Update 3/22/10

Ok, literally tears streaming down my face reading about Devon and Piglet, what an amazing story. Magical !!! My Maddie is obsessed with the characters noses, she always has to tickle their nose after meeting with them, she started that when she was about 3 and it still continues, it's her own little disney tradition.

Love the update !!!:)

I hear you about Edmund! George likes to have some time just to relax wen we are there and we all are much happier for it! At least Edmund is coming around!:dance3:

As for the 3d glasses maybe when she gets older she can explain her reasoning. It could be anything! LOL
Well, he still says we aren't going back for a while...I take that to mean HE isn't going back...:rotfl2:

It was such a miraculous moment especially since at the beginning of lunch she was so upset that they were there. Thanks for reading along! So funny about the nose touching...good thing they don't want to poke them in their eyes! :rotfl:

Never fear...HE may not be going back for awhile, but you know who is always ready and willing when it comes to Disney!!!

Without me even knowing about it or asking, Edmund dvr'd the disney special about the "Behind the Scenes...Getting Ready for Christmas at Disney". Well, I was just about was crying through the whole thing. I really want to do a weekend trip in the middle of Dec (2010??) so I can go to Hollywood Studios, and MVMCP and maybe even Epcot since we didn't see the whole thing last time, and DTD??? There...the beginnings of a plan :-)flower3: muaaaaa) I would have to get REALLY good airline prices to even consider it ($100 each r/t). And free dining would clinch the deal.:yay:

No you must wait until early 2011 so we can meet up again!!!!!

The Background:

I wouldn’t normally have planned two MK days in a row. I had my Tuesday planned out early in the summer but had to wait for the park schedule to be released at the beginning of August to finish my plans. You see, I had been to Disney for a girl’s weekend in Feb 2009 to meet with a bunch of Disboutiquers :cool2:(ladies and one great guy who sew and also are disboarders much like yourself!), and I saw Spectromagic and Wishes and fell in love. I said right then and there that I would make sure my kiddos got to watch both when we went in the fall. :thumbsup2So in early August the park schedule was released and I had a few days to organize before my 90-day window. Tour Guide Mike worked really hard to have his schedule ready for us too. As it turns out, Disney scheduled a Spectro parade for Wed Nov 4th and Sat Nov 7th . I went with Wed 4th!

:disrocks:So as all good Dissers do, I set my alarm for 6:30 am and got myself out of bed to begin my calls on my 90-day window on Thurs Aug 6th. All I had to do was get 8 am Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique and 4:45 pm 1900 Park Fare ressies for the same day. I needed to have an 8 am BBB reservation because otherwise it would delay our park touring that day. We already had to leave MK early that day in order to rest up for the evening dinner, parade and fireworks.

I practiced a few calls at 6:50 am and waited until 6:59 am to actually call. I got through the “press this and that” etc and spoke to the nice CM’s taking BBB ressies. I gave them my date and time and they respond with…”I am sorry but the computers are being updated/fixed/enhanced and I can’t make any reservations. Please try again later.” ACK!!!! So I try again 3 minutes later. Same deal. I try again 5 minutes later. No deal. I continue calling every half hour for a good portion of the morning. Still down. ACK!!! I did manage to go online and make 4:45 pm ressies at 1900 Park Fare without any trouble.

By evening, the CM said that everything should get reloaded overnight and I should try again Friday morning for the BBB ressies. So, I repeat the whole process. (For more drama, I should add here that I was one week out from having had major surgery….I was still in a lot of pain  and this whole getting up early thing was not making it any better). To make a long story short, I tried Friday, Saturday and Sunday to get these 8am BBB ressies to no avail. :sad2: I also was running a low-grade fever and was just so upset I couldn’t make this happen. A CM did sympathize and gave me an email to write the Disney execs and tell them my situation. I told her that they would never read my silly email and she said to just do it. So I very nicely wrote a letter telling about how the girls looked forward to visiting BBB for two years and we counted down the days to make the appointment and there were none left by the time the computers were up and running. I said how much we love Disney etc…I tried to make it as upbeat as possible. Then I broke the news to the girls that I couldn’t get the BBB appointment and the only ones left were in DTD at 3 or 4 pm. That would have been silly since the girls would just return home and go swimming. So they were truly disappointed and asked several times for me to try again. :guilty:

Meanwhile, I was rehospitalized for a week and sent home on strict bed rest the following week. Then a miracle happened.pixiedust:pixiedust: My phone rang and I didn’t recognize the number. I almost didn’t answer but then did just to see who it was. Well, it was a Disney exec!!!!! :banana:He asked how I was feeling and said he was reading over my letter and was I still interested in Wed Nov 4th 8 am BBB appointments for all three girls????:faint: I about fainted. I tried to express my appreciation and thankfulness and I was tingling all over. :flower3::love1:I must have said thank you a thousand times. :thanks:I decided to keep the appointment a surprise since the girls knew nothing about it.

So now I had the ultimate day in Disney planned: An early morning entrance, a surprise BBB appointment, a princess meeting and a short touring day. Then home for a rest and return for a 1900 Park Fare dinner, Spectromagic and Wishes Fireworks. Doesn’t get any better than that!!!!! Actually it did! My friend Marlo was able to get an appointment with us and we tried our best to keep it a surprise from our girls!!!

Ok so that was the background leading up to today's installment for …Wed Nov 4th! I will be back later with the actual recap of the day and how things worked out! Aren't you dying to know??? :confused3hehehehe

Had enough?????

I'll have an extra special little girl in mind from now on whenever I see Piglet.

Keep it coming!

Just post like you normally do but add your photopass pics. You have to put them on photobucket first! I will post this afternoon...gotta finish cleaning first! Yesterday was laundry and the girls room and today is everything else.

Cathy that is fantastic, how lovely of Disney to go above and beyond for your family :goodvibes

Cathy that is fantastic, how lovely of Disney to go above and beyond for your family :goodvibes

You said it!!! You remember a Year (or two) of a Million Dreams??? Well, it was like I had my own dream come true! It was super special and I am truly thankful! I am getting ready to post all about it!

Sounded like a perfect plan? It was until Disney changed the Spectromagic Parade from Wednesday to Thursday about a week before my trip. :sad2:At that late date, there was no way to change my Magic Kingdom ADR and BBB ressies to Thursday. I was soooooo disappointed!!!:guilty: I mean Spectromagic was the driving force behind the whole schedule. The only way to see it now would be to buy parkhoppers for $50 each times 4 people….not happening. But there was still Wishes…so at least the kids could see that after our 1900 Park Fare ressies…(which were for 4:45 pm so we could have time to make the Spectro.) Well, I decided with the extra park time, we would just ride attractions that I had fast-passed during the day.

OK so now onto Wed morning. We had to be at the park extra early….7:30 am and we were meeting my friend Marlo and her daughter Nicole. Marlo and I “talk” almost everyday but we had never actually met in person! It turns out that Wed was Nicole’s birthday! Her hubby and son were joining them after BBB and they were eating in the Castle then heading onto Hollywood Studios.

So my DH drops us off at the Contemporary around 7:10 am. My plan was to simply walk over to MK. The drop off spot would also become the pick-up spot. Hubby insisted that I take the monorail over to MK. I have no idea why.:confused3 I guess he didn’t want us walking over there having never done it before. So, we headed up to the station admiring the sights in the Contemporary! The monorail actually showed up just as we arrived at the station! By now it was 7:20…ack! I was going to be late…we still had to travel the loop!

Here are the girls on the monorail!

DisneyNov2009126.jpg

Marlo called as we were pulling away from the Contemporary and I told her we would be there asap! We finally arrived and Marlo greeted us so warmly!!! She is such a sweetheart and so is her daughter!!!!

We immediately started talking and walking and entered the park.:hyper2: Now, 24 hours before it had been decked in Halloween and now, after 3rd shift’s magical ways, the park was beginning to look a lot like Christmas! :santa:And it was practically empty!!! We snapped a few shots and also had some photopass pics done. We started dropping hints like…look how early we are…no one is here….and lets go into the Castle and see what’s there….and…. Wow…I am sure carrying a lot of bags (I had all of their BBB clothing! Plus lunches!)…I wonder what we should do first…and Marlo and I were laughing and practically crying with excitement. The other thing was that it was absolutely gorgeous out…bright sun and warm not hot. No humidity. It truly was a dream come true!

Once inside the Castle we admired the glass tiles and got in line at the BBB entrance. These were the people that somehow made ressies before me????!!!! We gave Nikki her birthday present while we waited and suggested we see what all of these people were here for. I think Nikki figured it out but she was good not to say anything to my girls yet….she was laughing since they still didn’t get it. She loved her book…Peter and the Sword of Mercy…great book!

When we entered the Boutique the CM asked for my princesses’ names. The girls still didn’t realize what was happening until I said their names. They were in shock and I was actually tearing up. We were led back to the changing room while Marlo went with Nikki to her chair. I should say here that Marlo made her daughter the most amazing outfit...she appliqued pretty Cinderella themed items on the skirt and on her top...she had Birthday Girl...very very pretty!

DisneyNov2009140.jpg

It took awhile to explain to the girls what happened and take their wrinkled dresses out and put them on…but our Fairy Godmothers were so patient. We finally emerged and were set up along the wall next to each other. They have the girls face the center of the room and choose hairstyles and tiaras and hair extensions. Sarah was Giselle so she picked the Disney Diva style and the girls both picked Fairy Tale Princess styles. Nikki also picked the Disney Diva and they were off to become princesses. The FGM were so sweet with the girls. They really did an outstanding job with their hair. Devon’s hair is kinda short but she managed to get all of it up but the back, which she left down. They really took their time and chatted with the girls and myself. Brook’s FGM especially loved the appliqués on the girls dresses and asked all about embroidery machines and how they worked. I was wearing a FGM tee and they loved that too.

I seriously have about 100 other BBB pics but I spared you all...if you want to see them though...just let me know...hahahaha!

I am hoping Marlo posts some of her pics of Nikki! :thumbsup2

The photopass lady was taking a ton of pics the whole time. It was so fun to sit and watch. As they neared the end, another FGM did their make up and soon they were sprinkled with pixie dust and received their sashes. Then the reveal! They twirl the girls around so they can see themselves in the mirror. They were amazed and pleased! I loved all of the sparkles and not a hair out of place! Marlo and Nikki finished before us and had to head up to their breakfast in the Castle. We said our goodbyes and soon my girls were ready to go. They give you a gift bag filled with their make-up and some stickers. I also purchased an autograph book since Devon seemed willing to meet with the characters. The whole experience was just magical and it was so much fun having Marlo and Nikki there to share in the fun!!!!

Somehow, Marlo had forgotten to pick up Nikki’s photopass card and I told her FGM that I would get it to them. So we went across the castle to the check-in for Cinderella’s Royal Table. The CM checked her computer and called for another CM to deliver the photopass card to Marlo. At this point it was about 9:05am….and streams of people were headed into the park. I asked the girls if they wanted to do the photo session (via photopass) now or later. Thank goodness they wanted to do it now. So, we made our way down Main St to the front of the park.

We entered Exposition Hall and walked back to the photo session “gazebo”. A nice photopass man came running up. He said he saw us coming in and knew we were here for him!! :thumbsup2 Brooklyn had to use the potty so he started with Sarah while I took the girls to the bathroom outside of Tony’s Town Square Restaurant. The photopass guy took pics of each princess and then all three together. It only took maybe 15 minutes. I was quite pleased and so were the girls! I couldn’t wait to see how they turned out and my photopass card was becoming like gold. Such precious pics on there! I took a pic of the back so I had the number recorded in case I lost it.

Get ready for too many pics!!!!!

Our next goal was to obtain a locker because I was carrying around way too many heavy bags! The CM was so friendly giving out lockers and everyone was ohhhing and ahhhing over the three girls. With that done, we decided to help Buzz Lightyear defeat the evil Emperor Zurg. We cut through the Noodle Station to get to Buzz. The girls had never gotten to this side of the park in 2007 so this was a first for them in Tommorrowland. Buzz had no line of course. We rode it after obtaining fast passes. I scored better than last time…which isn’t saying much…I only scored 4000 points in Feb!

DisneyNov2009164.jpg

When we exited I realized it was 9:45…time to get ourselves to Toontown! We walked up there and just missed the rope drop by 5 minutes. We bee-lined it for Toontown Hall of Fame Tent and got right into the line for Tinkerbell. It was a 30 minute wait!!!! (Confession…my girls didn’t really like the Tinkerbell movie….) So, after a few minutes I asked them if they wanted to wait 30 minutes to see Tink and the other fairies or get in the 2 minute line to meet the princesses. Their choice: PRINCESSES …. said in unison!

So we went under the ropes and walked up to the doors in the princess line. There were only a few people ahead of us. I couldn’t believe it. We were so excited. I have no idea why I had the fairies stuck in my mind when the girls really wanted to meet princesses. Anyways, we were ushered in and…..my cell phone rings. ACK! I turned it off….since I couldn’t carry on a conversation! So we meet Aurora first…I felt bad since we didn’t have Aurora in our party. She was gracious though and said the girls looked so pretty. Then we met Cinderella who was so charming. She showed the girls how to pose and admired Brook’s dress. Then we met Belle who took to Devon and really looked over her dress. We were giddy with excitement upon exiting. Seriously…am I a grown up??? I wonder sometimes?!

I think we floated through the gift shop and I called my brother-in-law back and told him where we were. He had decided to join us this day after taking my sister-in-law to the airport that morning. Yaaa! The girls love their Uncle Stephen! We decided to take a rest on the curb and have a little snack while we waited for Stephen to find us. Then the girls wanted to tour Minnie and Mickey’s houses…very cute! Very crowded too! Especially the kitchen. We did get the required pic by Minnie’s sewing machine for all of the Disboutiquers!
