Thanks for the link.. that thread is closed.. do you know if there is another one? :confused3

The thread is "closed" because Tricia1972 takes all the photo posts from this thread and moves them there. She's the only one that can add to it. Consider it a cake photo cheat-sheet. No need to look through all the pages on this thread. :thumbsup2

If you want to add questions, you have to ask them here. ;)

By the way, the Mickey Head is currently posted on the last page of that thread.

Please, please tell me I am not too late to order a cake. We will be in WDW the week after Thanksgiving. I was wanting to order a cake for our kids on
12/4. Am I too late to order it?

We will be at 1900 Park Fare that day. I wanted to get one cake for both kids. Any suggestions?

I have hear that they really only require 48 hrs. notice so you still have time. As far as getting one for both kids I'd suggest something like a Mad Hatter type or something with Mickey.

Hi cakemanbri,

It looks like you're the resident cake expert here. I called the cake line today thinking ordering a cake would be easy. I am very confused because it came out to at least $60. $30 of it was to have Sleepy from the Seven Dwarves screened onto the cake. She said having an artist "draw" it would be more. In looking through this thread, it used to be about $8 to get a character screen. Prices go up, so I could see it maybe being $15 now. But is it really $30? And I know the screened cakes aren't the fanciest, but I have been scouring everywhere for Sleepy merchandise with no luck. I'm not sure trying to get a porcelain figurine/cake topper makes sense, but I haven't found any other options. Figured I'd try the cake.

We're going to be at Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios. Staying at the Pop century resort, too. We do have one dining reservation at the Swan. I'm hoping you can help me figure this out. We just need a small cake, because there are 4 of us, and 2 of them don't usually eat cake. Where should we get the cake? How do I get Sleepy?

Thanks,
Cake challenged,
ingerl :confused3

How much are the cakes like this and is this a Mad Hatter Cake?

My DD will turn 5 while we are in Disney---we are doing CRT for lunch and i was thinking about adding the personal Bday cake that comes in a Jewelry box---Has anyone seen/ordered this---was wondering if there is enough cake to share with DS or do we need to order the boys treasure chest version as well---also thought about a cake delivery to our rm @ WL---any suggestions???

The cakes that come in the jewelry box and in the treasure chest are about the size of two cupcakes put together. I could see two young children easily sharing one.

I FINALLY DID IT! I emailed Brian @ CR to get the ball rolling on my cake. I've been talking about doing it for so long, but I had 3,528,124 things that had to happen first, before I could worry about that. Now, I'm excited :D

Also, the Princess/Pirate treasure chest cakes- where can we get those? I don't suppose we can get them sent to our room? (we're staying at AS Movies). I'd like to do this for my kids one night, but we're traveling with others and I don't want their kids to feel left out, so I was thinking if we could have it sent to the room, it might avoid the issue even popping up.

Unfortunately, you can't have the treasure chest cakes sent to your room when you are staying at ASM. We were staying at AS Sports when we ordered ours at Chef Mickey's. I was told the only cakes that we could have sent to the All Star's were the ones found in the All Star food courts. Things may have changed, as this was January of this year, so it's worth a call to check it out. We were pleased with the treasure chest cakes that we did get.

Best wishes and happy cake feasting!:goodvibes

hi!

Is there a new cake photo gallery thread yet? The "official one" was closed after a post on Nov 6, 2009. I wanted to add my photos. :D

Second, the last time I ordered a cake was last December 2008 and the time before that September 2007. And really the only size you could get was like a 10" cake for $80.00+

I see that some people lately are able to order a 6" custom cake. Is this only available at the GF bakery/restaurants?

ok I lied, 3rd question:

My 8 year old daughter wants a Polynesian style, Lilo and Stitch/Hawaii/Hula/tropical/ palm tree cake for her birthday. When I ordered cakes before, the Polynesian wasn't really set up to do anything fancy, is this still the case?

If you were me, where would you eat/have the cake made? GF? Contemporary? The Boardwalk? Another place?

We have dining reservations at a bunch of places so hopefully someone can help me figure out where to get this!

thanks!:yay:

The cake gallery isn't really "closed", I think they just don't want everyone posting on it. If you post your pictures here, they will move them over there (that's what they did with mine!)

As for where to have the cake made, I can only tell you that we had an amazing experience with Contemporary and Chef Brian. In fact, I've seen complaints, but it's never about CR, it's some of the other places that I think don't have the same calibur pastry chefs. You can see our cake in the gallery, it's the Halloween cake.

We got this cake made by the GF bakery delivered to our ADR at Citrico's.

It was $160
