• Ariel the Mermaid needs a kiss to make her dream come true.

*Giselle waiting for true love's kiss.

... Is it any wonder Walt Disney World is located so close to Kissimmee, FL?

hahahaha...Welcome back!

So, I arrived in the last update and this day would be our Magic Kingdom day with everyone (1 of 2 actually). I woke up at 5 am. I was pretty excited to finally be in Disney so rather than trying to sleep another half hour, I just got up and took a shower! After dressing, I went downstairs and organized my park bag and eat breakfast. Soon enough the whole house was awake! I think Devon was the last person up…which is pretty typical! After breakfast…I think the girls had cereal and toast…they got washed up and ready. Today we were wearing our white Minnie Mouse tees and Brooklyn wore her patchwork skirt. I made one for Devon too but she opted for just plain shorts.

Weather wise…it was cloudy and looked like rain but it never did rain and it was in the 70’s. A perfect day to tour! According to Tour Guide Mike, it was to be a green morning….that means not too many people were supposed to pick Magic Kingdom this day. And besides, we had a plan!!!! It was NJ week and the crowds could get pretty bad. I was quite worried that we wouldn’t get to all the attractions I wanted.

Trivia:What is the name of the ride reservation system at WDW???

Answer: Fastpass

So my plan included fast passes and strategy! By 8 am, everyone was ready. That’s what I like about Edmund and his family…they are NEVER late. So we loaded up into our cars and headed to MK. :cool1: Windsor Hills is only about 1 ½ miles to World Drive. Once on World Drive it is a few miles to the MK parking lot. I think it took us about 15 minutes…maybe 20??? We weren’t rushing and there weren’t too many people at that hour. We got to park in the AAA Diamond Parking and the excitement began in earnest. It was so much fun being there with so many people.

Here we are walking in from the parking lot!

We stopped at ticket and transportation to get tickets for the ticketless.

Trivia: What is an E Ticket?

Answer: Coupons first offered in 1956 for teh most exciting Disneyland attractions, they were replaced in June 1982 with passports.

Around 8:30 am, my friend Leanne called from the turnstiles. They were already there. She had a dream that she arrived and we couldn’t find each other and we were looking and looking for each other. We headed to the monorail since the boat wouldn’t be running until 8:45 am….way too late for any good TGM! We had a rope drop to see!!! The girls loved the monorail and it was fun being whisked away to a magical place!!!

Trivia: How many miles is the monorail system at Disney World?

Answer: 14.7 miles

We disembarked and headed down the ramp…through bag check and then I had to assist the girls through the turnstiles. Sarah was old enough to do the thumbprint and my ticket was a non-expiring 7-day from my Feb trip. What if it didn’t work??? I was actually nervous. But, the green light flashed and I was through the turnstiles!!! Yaaa! :woohoo:Leanne and her girls were there and we swung around to join the crowd. We were so excited and took lots of pics!

After about 10 minutes, the opening show started. We made it!!! We were all here!!!

Continued in Next Post!!!

Soon after the show…the rope dropped and the crowd moved forward!!! The plan was that some of Edmund’s family were going off on their own and were going to meet us later and the rest of us were going to stick together and do Fantasyland. We headed up the glorious Main Street and found a photopass photographer about ¾ of the way up. We got some pics of our group in matching shirts! So fun!

Photopass pics are here!!! Yaaa!!!

We continued up Main Street towards the castle:

Trivia: How much taller is Cinderella's castle than Sleeping Beauty's?

Answer: Over 100 feet

And continued through the castle to Fantasyland. The girls were pairing up as we approached Dumbo. Unfortunately, we weren’t on the first few rounds of Dumbo and there was about a 10 minute wait…honestly…I started to panic. What if the crowds came streaming in while we waited? I really wanted to be able to get on everything in Fantasyland…would we??? I tried to ignore my panic and just relax…what will be will be I told myself. I love how organized Disney is with Dumbo. They give you the colored cards and put you in a holding area while they prepare the next holding area with just the right amount of people. While we waited we talked about the Fantasyland Expansion and how Dumbo would be in a tent. I noticed they were refurbishing the outside of the castle. Disney put up fabric-like screens that were painted to look just like the blocks on the real castle. Then it was our turn to fly with Dumbo…what a fun ride! I had to laugh though…Brooklyn wasn’t letting me out of her site and so that left my hubby riding with Leanne! LOL! She said he seemed to be enjoying Disney despite his saying the opposite. I also relaxed while flying around Fantasyland. This was fun!!! And the kids were having a blast!

(Can you see in that last pic how they were doing construction on the castle and surrounding areas?)

Trivia: What ride was original in the location of The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh?

Answer: Mr. Toad's Wild Ride

Next we headed over to be adventurous with Winnie the Pooh. Brookie was afraid of the rides at this point and insisted on going with mommie. We boarded our honey pot and I talked her through each part of the story and she actually liked it! I heard the girls screaming and hamming it up ahead of us. Devon loved hanging out with the big girls!!! It is such a cute ride. I noticed that Fantasyland was still pretty empty! Yaaa! :thumbsup2

Next ride was Snow White. I warned Brook that there was the witch but that she died at the end and Snow White is just fine! While in “line” and what I mean by that is walking through the ropes to get to the ride, someone was asking if our group was from NJ. Of course we said!!! Its Jersey Week and we all said Go Phillies!!! :cheer2:We all hopped on our cars…two needed for our big group and enjoyed the ride…its so fast and the witch is pretty scary…weird that they focused on her and hardly on Snow White. Anyways…the Prince rides off with Snow White and our ride ended! A cast member stopped Brooklyn to say how much she liked her skirt and she gave Devon and Brooklyn some Mickey stickers…such a sweet gesture. We made sure Brookie gave her a thank you card. (I printed out a bunch of thank you cards to give cast members!)

Continued in next post!

Next we walked down to Peter Pan before a lined formed. I was shocked everything was still walk-on at this point. It was 9:30 am…were where the crowds?? I was happy to ride Peter Pan since we missed it last time. I love how you fly around in your pirate ship over everything. I wish the rides went a little slower so I could take everything in!

DisneyNov2009058.jpg

We exited and went across to It’s a Small World. No line. We had the whole boat to ourselves and waved at the attendant boated our way around the world. What a relaxing ride and the song didn’t even bother me…plus I was watching Brook and the girls reactions to everything!

DisneyNov2009064.jpg

I was really enjoying going around with everyone! We finished up and called the other part of our group since we said we would meet around 9:50 am. We headed to Liberty Square and there they were!!! Yaaa! They had ridden Big Thunder and a few other things. And that was exactly where we were headed.

Trivia: What happened on the day Splash Mountain made its offical debut?

Answer: It rained

The problem was…Brookie was losing her bravery about riding Splash Mountain. We were trying to explain it to her but she took one look at the drop and totally backed out….not that I blame her. We weren’t going to make her go. A cast member who was in charge of trash detail took one look at her face and heard us talking to her. He was just the sweetest guy…he tried to talk to Brook too and gave her a sticker. She gave him a thank you card too…lol.

One of Edmund’s sisters and sister-in-law also didn’t want to ride Splash Mountain….so the chickens…errrrr…I mean girls…hung out at the Splash Mountain play area.

IMG_0459.jpg

WDWLeanne2009023.jpg

Before we got on, we obtained Fast Passes for Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. You always gotta be one step ahead! So the group headed up into the cue…and there wasn’t one. It took forever just to walk the distance up to the loading area. There were only maybe 5 or 6 people ahead of us~ and suddenly it was our turn! No turning back now! And off we went in our log boat….what a fun ride…I love Splash Mountain! As we headed around the bend to go up the first lift, we were hoping no boats would come down and splash us….we crept forward and almost made it to safety when…spplllaaaassshhhhh….a boat drenched us with water! Actually it drenched my husband…hahahaha. Up the lift and we were off whistling and singing. I love the little drops and Devon sat with me and was enjoying all of it! I seriously wish I could slow time down and relive this ride…everyone was laughing and talking. But alas, the final lift approached and we went up and up and up..then paused…I told Devon to hold her stomach muscles tight…and whoooshhhhh…down, down, down we went! We got a little wet and were cheering we were still alive!!! ZippityDooDaa indeed!!!

And here is a cute picture of Leanne's daughter...she got so wet she bought a towel!

WDWLeanne2009026.jpg

We exited and went to look at our pic…my brother-in-law bought ours….I was blocked out by Aubrey’s arm…yaaa…but everyone looks great descending!!!

Jersey week was great....the only stress was keeping everyone healthy before the trip! Also, I would only travel via TGMike's advice...don't worry...there were crowds just not where we were!!!

Well...do you know how long that skirt too me to plan and make??? (I should say copy and make!) I would say at least 10-12 hours. I was a little upset at first but I just brushed it off...plus they have actually been rewearing all of their outfits to school so she will wear it eventually! :confused3
