Got the 2010 'year long' PINcode after following a DIS-tip

Woohoo, this is the DIS at it's best! A couple of weeks ago I was reading the DIS, as I do sometimes. :rolleyes1 Read a topic where another DIS'er explained how they reckoned they got a PIN-code. They were pricing out different trips on the Disney website, saving them under their account and leaving it at that. Lo and behold; a PIN-code came.

So, I reckoned let's give it a shot, it can't hurt anyway. So I played around on the website a bit. Got myself a couple of dates and prices and saved them. That was like a week or 3 ago, I guess. Did that for only one account as somehow the website would keep throwing me out when I tried to log on using any of my other accounts. :scared:

Today; whoops yet another email from Disney. At first reckoned it was one of those regular ones again. But nop; it was the PINcode that can be used for almost all of 2010. :yay::cool1::thumbsup2

Who knows!? I know this trick didn't work for everybody that read the topic I read it on, but it DID work for me. Might be worth giving it a shot. It doesn't hurt, chances are nothing will happen, but might just be some of us help pixiedust coming to their homes. :wizard:

I did the same thing - except instead of saving offers, I just created an itinerary and then selected some possible resorts. About 2 weeks later I got a 20%/30%/40% pin based on the type of resort - only holidays seemed blacked out.

Thats exactly what I did to get my 40% off code:thumbsup2

Im reading all about pin codes. I planned a trip for our family we are going in march of 2010. Any suggestions. Please help i want to take advantage of any possible savings. THanks in advance.

I did the same thing after reading about it on the Dis and I just checked my email and I got the 20/30/40% PIN good for most of 2010!!!
WL for our June anniversary, here we come!!! :cool1:

It worked! We got a Pin we can use!

:thumbsup2 Here is what I did. On three seperate occassions i logged onto Disney's website and researched vacation packages for July 13 - 20th, 21st and 22nd looking at Moderate and Delux resorts. After the first attempt I got a nice email from Disney refering to my vacation dates and offering me the 40% discount code for dates in November and December 2009. So I thought I could out smart the computer system at Disney and logged on to the website again and deleted those saved offers and saved new similiar offers for the same time periods. Well low and behold I got the same email refering to my july time period and offering me the Nov/Dec pin code

Before I got really sneaky and had my wife register separately at Disney.com i thought I would try a third time for kicks and giggles and I again for the third time logged onto disney.com, deleted two of may three saved offers and added two additional saved offers.

third times a charm the following offer attached to an email refering to our july saved offers

Special Resort Offer
Enjoy better rates if you've got flexible dates!

Save 20%* at Disney Value Resorts,
30%* at Disney Moderate Resorts
or 40%* at Disney Deluxe Resorts

For stays most nights 1/3–1/6/10,
1/10–1/14/10, 1/18–2/11/10,
2/15–3/27/10, 4/11–7/1/10, 7/5–10/7/10, 10/11–11/23/10 and 11/28–12/16/10. :yay:

My offer was a postcard in the mail and the offer was 30%/35%/40%. My saved vacations were for values and mods and maybe they were trying to seal the deal for a mod by giving me the 35%? :confused3

I also used the online chat with a rep service they offer and asked about the different mods. I may have mentioned at that time that we usually stay off-site...I can't remember. I also logged on a few different times and saved different dates/resorts and played around with the saved vacations I already had.

Other things which may have helped are: I had registered online for my daughter's birthday (I signed her up for the birthday promotion online) this year for October. I responded to Disney's survey e-mail that was waiting for me when I got back home in Oct. and said very posetive things. Also, I used the same time of year in my saved vacations that we went this year.

Hope this helps. Good luck to those trying for pins and congrats to all who already got them!

I just received this one earlier today...call to get the rates, and they tell me that the pin I gave them is good for 2009 only! The CM is so nice and is trying to see what is going on! I am on hold as we speak. I've double and triple-checked the pin code and dates...

Must be a glitch in their system!

If I get the same pin codes as stated above and if the free meal plan comes along for my vacation dates can it be applied to my vacation? TIA

We've tried doing what the OP suggested a few times. No PIN. :sad1:

It worked for me. :thumbsup2 It took quite awhile to arrive. I had already made reservations off property. Wilderness Lodge here we come!

A PIN-code is a discount code. Unlike public discounts a PIN-discount is tied to an individual itself. So no transferring possible, allthough that person can make reservations for others in their party travelling at the same time, for up to 3 rooms.

Yeiks! :scared: Hope things work out for you.

No. You'll have to pick one or the other. You can book with a PIN-code when you get one, but you can not stack discounts. So it's either the PIN or the free dining.

Fingers crossed for those still waiting!

I got an email with the 40% / 30% / 20% code yesterday at work ! I thought I was first going to scream, then cry, then fall out of my chair. it's like winning the Disney Lottery!!!! :cheer2: ( I'm too excited to sleep!!)
We went home last night and quick booked our trip before Disney changed their mind !! We wound up saving $ 1300 !! WOOOHOOO!!! :cool1:

Keep trying !! I'm telling you, it was like a part time job logging in and "pricing vacations", saving them, making maps, ordering the DVD.....it's so worth all the persistance. Don't give up!!! :grouphug: I think I've been doing this for like 3 months! Finally, yesterday I got the really awesome pin and almost cried. :wizard:

Here's wishing pixie dust on you !! pixiedust: ~ Jill

Still have my Rooms on "SAVE" and have yet to get ANYTHING for Feb. 2010!:confused3 Really getting discouraged now...I may call tomorrow and see whats up...:surfweb:

I just got back in September and we used a pin for that trip. We are now planning another trip for next September and hoping for yet another pin.

But just as a side note - I didn't get an email or a postcard for the last pin I got. I called to make the reservations and asked them to check under all the names of the people who were going.... low and behold, there was one under my husbands name.

So when in doubt... ask! : )

Good luck everyone!
