How do we get the CC and DVC magnets?
Also, does everyone feel it is safe to put our kids's names on the outside of our room? And what about message boards where we write where we're going??? Or am I just being overly paranoid? My oldest will be old enough in Disney's eyes to walk around the boat by herself, but in my eyes I'm still a tad scared of that.
What we did with our kids (17 and 14) was just lay down the law:
1. Neither of them goes ANYWHERE without the other. Period. If one wanted to leave the teen club, they both had to leave.
2. When going to the room (together) if they saw ANYONE in the hallways walking toward them, they were to stand their ground and NOT open the stateroom door until the person/people, had passed and were a good distance away. This prevents some bad guy from "bum rushing" the door as soon as they unlock it.
3. If they wanted to hang out in the room, fine, together. It didnt matter if Captain Henry, The pope, or Mikey mouse knocked on the door, they were NOT to open it (unless the room was flooding lol) until Momma and/or I walked through the door.
4. They also were not to go anywhere with anyone unless it was a crewmember (not just a new friend) from the teen club, even if they called them by name.
The vast majority of the time, we were all together, so it didn't really matter. And they didnt want to go to the teen club all that much, only a couple times.
I think your diligence is a good thing. Just because it is Disney, and just because it is a ship where nobody can "get away" doesnt mean bad things still couldn't happen.
That being said. Make sure your kids know the rules, that they understand what "could" happen, and to make sure they stay aware of it. If you are worried about a child going with someone that calls their name, then no, I would leave the names off the door. Otherwise, you should be fine.
