We are flying with thomson/first choice next year ..... on another forum it says it takes 11 hours to get to orlando with them.

Can anyone confirm whether the thomson/first choice flight time is the same as for example virgin. many thanks :goodvibes

my parents took off at 10am and landed at 8pm our time, this s yesterday. so it was about 10 hours

Virgin are 9 hours there and 8 hours back, i think FC are slower, as not 747 planes,

We are flying from Newcastle next July and the expected flight time is 9hrs 15mins which appears to be the same as Virgin.

Flight durations vary slightly even with the same airline, depending on your departure airport.

when i went in oct virgin was 8 hrs 20min there, 7hrs 40min back.

But i know flight on thompson on sunday will be longer, but hopefully maybe only an hour

Are you flying from Bristol, we do on the 15th August next year.

Yes we are flying from Bristol :goodvibes We could not decide between Bristol (much closer to home) or Gatwick, but distance to the airport was our main decision, so Bristol it is ..... think will cry if going with FC is a much longer journey as really really really (did I say really) hate flying.

Just put in a "dummy" booking and FC shows as 9 hours 20 mins (nightmares already).

Did try to do a "dummy" booking with virgin but do not give you the hours/mins ... just on way out 13.00/17.55 - cannot work that back into hours/mins as do not know about the time difference :confused3

I am hoping it will not be too much difference on the FC plane

I think the confusion may be because FC Bristol/Orlando flights go via Manchester for refuelling - this is what adds another hour on to the flight time.

Bristol's runway isn't long enough for the FC planes to take off fully fuelled so, until they extend the runways (in the pipeline, I think) they stop in Manchester to take on the fuel they need to get to Orlando.

We flew with FC in 2008 & the flight got in about 3.30 local time after the stop in Manchester but we've been told it's non stop next year and will only be the 9hrs 20 (in 2008 we were told it would be around 11hrs) but to be honest I wouldnt mind if it did stop in Manchester we will still be up on time taken because it takes us so long to & fro Gatwick.

it looks about an hour longer than the virgin flight i was on last month.
an extra hour but landing 2 hours early i can def live with
