Does anyone own one of the Disney Pix Jr Character digital cameras for kids? We're thinking of getting one for DD for Christmas so she'll stop wanting to use our good cameras, but have some questions that I can't find the answers to anywhere online.

Each camera states they include Disney overlays to add characters to your photos, but none state which characters are included. Since there are different characters on the cameras, including Mickey, Toy Story, Princess, Pooh and Tigger, Cars, etc, I am wondering if the character overlays are specific to the character on the camera? For instance, does the Princess camera only have Princess overlays or do all cameras include all characters?

Thanks for any help you may offer!

walgreens had these on clearance for between $5-$10 check there first the camera is not worth anything over that but the software is cute.

Thanks, I have seen those but they are the Pix Click, not the Pix Jr. The Pix Jr seems to be a much better camera and includes a SD card slot to expand the memory.

I know you aren't asking about this particular model but I just wanted to tell you that my ds's pix max he can put different characters on the pics, not just POTC ones. In fact, I'm not even sure there are POTC images on it. I would think that all the Disney cameras were the same way.

oops sorry, my bad.

then here is what you want to know...again reviews are not great

Thanks! None of the reviews that we can find for any kid's cameras are that great, but we realize this is just a toy. We like the option of adding a SD card so we won't need to continually download the pix from the camera to make room. Also, it looks pretty easy to use for little hands.

Since we haven't found any kid's camera with great reviews, we figured we'll just go with Disney as adding character will be like having a photopass.

Thanks again for all the help!

we have the kidizoom but were thinking of getting something a little smaller for DD. Are you finding any good deals on the pix jr?

Hi I bought the pix mix camera for toddlers that has the rubber protection on the outside and poohbear and darby on the outside. The overlays that are available on that camera are mickey, pluto, pooh, tigger, rocket, annie and june, micheal, leo adn maybe one or two others. With this camera if you are going to use the overlay they need to push the magic button to make it come up on the screen then take the picture then if they want to take another pic with the overlay they have to start all over again. There is an SD slot and it uses 4 AA batteries. The other thing that is annoying is that use have to use a screwdrver to get to the SD slot and the batteries. I know this is for safety and I appreciate it but you always have to carry a screwdriver with you because batteries like AA in a camera do not last very long.

Hope this helps:wizard:

That is a huge help! Thanks so much!

I'm not really finding any sales on the camera right now, but it looks like fun for DD and will keep her from wanting ours. ;-)

Keep an eye on Amazon.com, they should start their Christmas sales soon. I order lots of things from them every year.

I know that Sears is offering Disney digital kid cameras for $9.99 on Black Friday. The ad is posted online.

Thanks to all! So far, best prices I'm finding are on auction sites but I hadn't checked Black Friday yet.

I purchased this camera a few weeks ago on clearance at Target. Check the end caps in the eltronic section and you may stumble upon a deal.

Was it the Pix Jr. or the Pix Click? I am finding the Click on clearance but the Jr looks newer.

Thanks for the tip!

I just double checked. I have the camera stashed away for my daughter's birthday. It is indeed the Pix Jr. with the exact princess image as the camera you linked to (and package say Pix Jr.).

Our older daughter actually owns a Pix Click, so I was pretty certain that was not what I purchased for the younger girl.

I paid $41 at Target on clearance. I imagine that means a new version will be arriving or perhaps has already arrived for Christmas shopping.

Thanks again, I'll definitely look. This is still higher than I am seeing on eBay but at least I wouldn't have to worry about shipping.
