Cass, Rob and Kira back in Disney! Toddlers' tempers and tantrums *Final Video!1/06*

Subscribing! Your daughter sounds a LOT like mine -- or like I imagine my DD will be in a year and a half. She's also a DQ!;) I love reading trip reports from fellow Canadians (I'm in Victoria). I really like those parking lot pictures, very peaceful.

LOL about the change all over the place! How funny!

Mmmmm...those pineapple bars look scrumptious!

Can you believe we've never seen the Jungle parade in the AK??!! I don't think we've ever stuck around the park long enough! We need to make a point of this next month.

Ernie and Kira are very similar. It is rough waiting for things with Ernie and he gets very very restless. And when he actually wants to cuddle with me I take full advantage of every opportunity!!!

I love that sunset photo with the birds in the trees. That's just so beautiful!

The kid area at AKV looks really fun! SSR's Grandstand area has that great kid section, too, that my kids love. They love the water!

Thanks for the report! I'm loving it....woke up waaaaay to early this morning and one of the first things I thought was, "oooh! Coffee and Cass's 2nd day of her TR! Great way to start the day!" :) So THANKS!!!

GEESH!

Hahaha, yeah she made me mad too!

Great installment You really spent a whole day at AK! I love the EMH at night there. It is so cool to see everything in a different way.

I was hoping to stay until the park closed so I could ride EE in the dark but taking Kira to the pool was more important. :thumbsup2

Did someone pee-pee on Jasmine?:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Day 3 Part 1

October 17th - Our 11th Wedding Anniversary, Check-in at the condo, Magic Kingdom

We slept in a little today. Kira was a little grumpy this morning :rolleyes1

Never did found out what this was all about...
3-1.jpg

Today was our anniversary! We didn't have anything major planned...we just knew we wanted to take Kira to Magic Kingdom today!

3-2.jpg

We stuck around the room as long as we could just chilling out and then we packed up all our stuff and loaded the van.

3-3.jpg

I had made us ressies at Boma for Breakfast since it gets so many fabulous reviews on the DIS.

We walked over to Jambo House and checked-in with the hostess and received our pager. It was only a few minutes before we were seated way in the back of the room, just how I like it.

Our waitress was OK but seemed rather busy. We had to ask her a couple of times for drinks and for a small fork for Kira.

As usual, I sent Rob up to the buffet first so that he can grab food for him and Kira (I always make sure those two eat first!) and while he was gone, Kira was rather funny! Sometimes she refuses to pose for the camera and she will actually run and hide or get hugely grumpy and other times, like this morning, she poses over and over and asks me to take her picture! :lmao:

3-4.jpg

3-5.jpg

3-6.jpg

So Rob got back and they ate while I got my food. I took one bite of my scrambled eggs and I was in LOVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

These were some of the BEST eggs I have ever tasted in my entire life!!! I would say top 2 or 3!!!! In fact, everything was really good!

3-7.jpg

Even Kira ate her eggs, and she ate a lot of them!! She rarely eats scrambled eggs!

Rob also REALLY enjoyed his food! He was more adventurous and tried some African dishes but I stuck to the basic eggs, bacon, ham, potatoes and toast.

We both got seconds and were soooo full! Just as we were paying for our meal, the waitress started talking to us (she hadn't said 2 words to us the whole time) and we told her that it was our anniversary. Well, 5 minutes later, just as we were getting up to leave she brought us this anniversary dessert.

3-8.jpg

We were so full but we tried a little bit of each one.

Since we didn't have to be anywhere for awhile, we decided to explore AKL and AKV a little bit.

Where Rob is sitting is the exact spot we were in when we opened our 5th wedding anniversary cards in 2003!
3-9.jpg

We watched some animals and let Kira run around
3-10.jpg

SHe watched some cartoons for a bit
3-11.jpg

Then we walked back to AKV and checked out the animals there....didn't see too many though
3-12.jpg

More cartoons
3-14.jpg

She was so excited when we found a little sink in the bathroom at AKV because she got to wash her own hands!
3-13.jpg

To be continued.....

My daughters and I are having a great time reading your TR together! We can't wait to go back to Disney, and it helps pass the time...

Day 3 Part 2

October 17th - Our 11th Wedding Anniversary, Check-in at the condo, Magic Kingdom

We left AKV against our will  and drove to Buena Vista Factory Outlet so Rob could get some new runners at Reebok. He only wears Reeboks and up in Calgary, there's not a huge selection of them so he always buys a couple of pairs when we go to Orlando.

There was a nice little playground at the outlet so I watched Kira play while Rob shopped. Kira had a blast and made new friends instantly, she did that a lot this trip!

3-15.jpg

So after about 45 minutes Rob finally emerged from the store and we headed to Walmart Supercentre.

He had this weird grin on his face and then finally blurted out that I wouldn't like one of the pairs of runners he bought.

:rolleyes1

I said "Are they orange?"

He just laughed and said "No, your second least favourite colour!"

I replied "You bought yellow shoes????????????" :scared1:

He just laughed and went on and on about how comfy his bright yellow shoes were! :rotfl2:

I told him he wasn't allowed to wear them when he was with me :snooty: :lmao:

I told him that last night at AK while we were waiting for him to ride EE, I was mentally making fun of some guy who was wearing bright red running shoes! I almost took a photo to post on here :rolleyes1

He just laughed and said they were probably the comfiest shoes he's ever had!

Whut-evah!

Dork! :lmao:
3-30.jpg

We went to Walmart for supplies for the week. And this is where I made an incredible find....

BOO Berry Cereal!!!!!!!!!!!! And my cheesy grin :rolleyes1
3-16.jpg

I used to eat this stuff like crazy when I was a kid! I haven't seen it in a store since I was like 7 or something!

After spending way too much money at Wallyworld, it was almost 3pm and time to check-in at the condo.

The condo is in Windsor Hills which is actually really close to WDW just off of the 192.

It is a gated community with condos, townhomes and pool homes. Since it's just the three of us, we chose to rent a 2-bedroom condo.

It was a very nice place, decorated all in Disney stuff, which Kira loved! There was lots of room, which was a nice feature and it had everything we needed for the week!

We settled in and unpacked, had a snack and then put Kira down for a much-needed nap!

We pushed the two single beds together for her so she didn't fall out
3-29.jpg

The condo has free wi-fi as well as free long-distance calling so I checked on our animals and my nephew who was watching the crazy animals and checked in on my pre-trippie too.

Rob went to Publix to get some stuff that Walmart didn't have and when he came home, he gave me these....my favourite flowers....white roses!

Although they look kinda green in this photo! :scared:
3-31.jpg

I am going to post some photos of the condo in the next post because I have a few pics :thumbsup2

Keep in mind that these condos are individually owned, therefore, each unit is decorated differently! I liked ours though :goodvibes

Kira ended up sleeping for about an hour, which is all she needs most days so we got our stuff ready and we drove to Magic Kingdom!

To be continued....

Cass...we love Windsor Hills. We've stayed at the condo's twice. They are so handy for Disney. The condo you had looked great..how can you have a condo so near to Disney and not have it themed :confused3

Anyway.....I need more please.

Day 3 Part 4

October 17th - Our 11th Wedding Anniversary, Check-in at the condo, Magic Kingdom

When we got to the MK parking lot, it was starting to get rather chilly! It was about 51F (about 11C) and people were wearing pants and jackets!

I was ok but Rob was a little chilly so he brought his jacket (In Calgary before we left, I laughed at him for bringing it, told him it was going to be 85+ degrees out the whole time ) as well as the big blanket he brought for the trip home on the plane!

Kira was chilly so put that big warm blanket on her and shortly after we arrived at the park, we were looking for some hoodies to buy for all three of us. Since everyone else was freezing, the selection of warm jackets really sucked! Most stores had few sizes left or they were completely out of all jackets!

3-32.jpg

3-33.jpg

We were all starving so we headed towards Cosmic Rays because we listen to Sunny Eclipse music all the time in the truck while we're driving and she loves it and knows all the words so we wanted to go sit and watch him for a bit.

On the way there, we found this CM making pictures of Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck out of WATER!!!

3-34.jpg

3-35.jpg

It was cool to watch, he was mucho talented! :worship:

When we got there it was ridiculously busy!!!!!!!!!!! Rob and Kira waited for a table while I went to get us some food.

I got some chicken strips, fruit and yogurt for them and brought it back to the table and then got back in line to grab a burger for moi.

This is where I encountered yet another pissy CM!

I was on the left-side line of the cashier and about 4th in line. Soon after, he told someone lining up on the right-hand side that he was only serving the left side now because the right side was closing down.

I was also listening to him help customers in front of me and he was less than pleasant with every one of them!

Well, 2 minutes later, his (I am guessing) supervisor came by and told him that it was too busy and that he needed to open up both lines.

Well, this guy was NOT happy about it and made it very clear (to all of us around him) just how unhappy he was! I don't remember his exact words anymore but let's just say that I am super glad that I didn't have Kira with me! :scared1:

Back to the table I go with my burger and my first experience with the whole wheat buns! I took one bite and the bun just started to fall apart! It was beyond horrible!!!

They tasted like they were 5 days old :sad2: I ended up taking one more bite and then tossing it aside, it was that gross!

3-36.jpg

After dancing and singing with Sunny we headed to toontown to see how long the line was for the Princesses.

Unfortunately, the line was 40 mins and we knew Kira wasn't up for that. We stopped at every store that we saw to find some hoodies and we finally found some we liked at the big tent store where the princesses were located.

We walked through Mickey's House and Minnie's house which Kira liked because she was allowed to touch everything. LOL

3-37.jpg

We didn't have much time before the fireworks but we did try to do Jungle Cruise but the line was 30 mins! :scared1:

Instead we opted for a dole whip and then found a spot for fireworks.

3-38.jpg

Much to my surprise, Kira really enjoyed the fireworks! She kept saying BOOM BOOM BOOM! :rotfl:

3-39.jpg

We stuck around the hub near the castle and grabbed a spot for SpectroMagic. By this time it was really cold and really windy! Kira had on 4 layers of clothes/blankets now and was ok but the wind was starting to get to all of us. Rob was all bundled up, it was a strange sight to be seen at the Magic Kingdom

People were trying to stay warm with everything they had...ponchos for the wind, towels, jackets, bags! We ended up lending Kira's extra little pink blanket to a girl who was sitting next to us, she was in shorts and a tee and was frozen!

3-40.jpg

Rob bought Kira a balloon to pass the time until the parade started and she had lots of fun with it!

3-41.jpg

3-42.jpg

3-43.jpg

Kira loved the parade! She had been asking to see princesses since we got to WDW but we hadn't seen any yet. When Ariel came around the corner and Kira saw her for the first time, her eyes lit up and she shouted "There's Ariel!!! I found her!!!"

She also loved seeing Cinderella and Snow White!!!

After the parade we tried to ride some rides but everything was so darn busy! The only thing we got to ride was It's a Small World, which was fine by us because Kira loved it!! She was even singing the song as we rode it!

By now it was very late and very cold and we just decided to go home.

All bundled up for the walk back to the van!
3-44.jpg

3-45.jpg

We promised her that we would ride the ferry back so we did, even though it seemed to take forever! Walked back to our van and 13 minutes later we were at our condo!

It was definitely a day we will remember forever! ::yes::

.
I even had wind burn!!!

Hi Cass! Really enjoying your updates so far and Happy Anniversary!

We came out of Flying Fish about 9PM that night and were stunned at how cold it had gotten ... too windy and too chilly for Florida in October. :headache:

Looks like you had a great 11th anniversary (is that right?) Kira looks like she had a blast!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the picture of Kira with Piglet on her head at Boma! She even looks like she is thinking, "Hey, how did you get up there?" and she posed herself that way!:lmao::lmao::lmao:

I was also amazed at the Mickey and Donald water paintings... that is incredible and I have never seen them do that. Very cool! :thumbsup2

Don't you love it, its so soft:cloud9:. And I think Rob's yellow shoes, well, they're growing on me:), they're actually kinda cool. Soo...whats next, where are we going tomorrow?:goodvibes

I asked Kira in the morning which shoes she wanted me to wear, she always asked for the yellow ones :)
Well, you can certainly pick me out of a crowd that's for sure.

Great job on the trip report love! You sure know how to write them, its great remembering it all though not so much on how cold we were; have to say I'm glad I brought my jacket, I was at least warm by the end of the night and not frozen.
BTW: Your movies are almost done now.

Keep it up girl. Loving the update!! :yay:

Hey Rob, did you get those shoes to match to your glow in the dark jacket?? :goodvibes
