Welcome Back Breezy's Mum, looking forward to hearing all about it :)

Welcome Back Breezy's Mum!!! looking forward to hearing all about it AND seeing all your pics!!!!

Sorry, BreezysMom, but I'm probably the only one not looking forward to hearing about your bounceback! (just kidding!) :rotfl: We didn't have an offer in our room and I didn't inquire further because I didn't think we'd go back that soon. But when I told my DH this morning that you got a bounceback he got all bummed out. I guess hind sight is 20/20 ...

I've finally got most of my pictures uploaded to my photobucket. Here are some shots of the view from Tuvalu. We were in room 3409, MK view. We had requested Tahiti and were diasppointed to be assigned to Tuvalu, but once we got there we were so happy for the change. When we were on our balcony it felt like we were right over the water. We had a gorgeous view of the GF to our left and the little dock to our right. The castle was dead on in the middle. We loved being surrounded by the sounds of the Seven Seas Lagoon, the boat horns, the train whistle from the MK, the drums from the luau, the Electric Water Pageant ... And of course it was wonderful watching the fireworks every night from our balcony. We were close to the GCH and the volcano pool. The only drawback was that it was a bit of a hike for the kids to the TTC. We will definitely be requesting Tuvalu again!

I started working on my post-trip report last night, but the site went down for maintenance. I will hopefully get a chance to start posting stuff tonight.

I have totally let our trip slip up on me! Usually by now, I have my entire trip memorized. I blame all 3 kids playing soccer on different teams.:scared1:

So anyway, I am back on the DIS to get motivated!

If we are arriving early morning (7ish) do we check in at the main desk or will the Club Level desk be open?

I booked this trip in January and can't believe that it's almost here. Now I have lots of last minute questions that I know you guys have the answers to.

1 -- How deep is the pool where the slide lets out?

2 -- Is channel 96 still on (with all of the old Disney cartoons)?

3 -- I requested Tokelau, first floor, lagoon corner room (yes I know, a big request). Am I more likely to get this room, or a lucky upgrade, if I check in online today? Or should I wait and talk to the CM when I get there to make sure we get a room that's close to what we want?

4 -- Do they sell children's tylenol/motrin at the hotel store? Just in case we run out while there.

I think that's it for now. Thanks for all your help! :flower3:

I've been looking through this thread, and really enjoying it. I haven't stayed at the Poly since I was a kid, but the skimming this thread really brought back alot of wonderful memories for me.

I was hoping that a Poly fan out there might be able to track down a certain tiki statue on the grounds. When I was a kid, my parents would take my picture on our trips next to a particular tiki that used to be out where the old Tangaroa Terrace restaurant once was.

I had figured that so many years later the tikis had probably long been retired, but I had been looking through someone's trip report and saw a picture of their family with the tall tiki I'm standing near in the picture. I'd love to locate it on my next trip for a photo. I think the trip report said the tiki was in the lobby now, but unfortunately it was a completed report so I couldn't comment to ask about it, and now I can't find it anylonger.

Anyone have any idea where it is? I'd appreciate any help at all. :goodvibes

Is this your tiki?

I think this sign was near the bus stop. Maybe there is more than one of him floating around?
ETA: there is definitely more than one of him. I spotted this tiki a another pic of my daughters just outside the main entrance.

Wow! Great pics, maiapapaya. Can't wait to see the rest. Can't wait to be there.:goodvibes

Hi all! :goodvibes

I am back. Getting ready to go to work so full report will be tonight!

Great Trip....Love the Poly even more

The pool is OPEN! Only the slde is broken!!!! but for us, we hardly missed it because the activities by the pool kept the kids having fun! It was a sudden closure and they are having a hard time fixing it because of the fact that there are people in the pool from dawn to midnight :) It was great pool weather!

There is boat specifically being used for taking people to the GF pool for their slide. No hassel, just get on the boat they take you right to the pool and when you are done they bring you back :thumbsup2 We did not use it at all though. DD had a blast at the Poly pool sans slide.

I took TONS of pics of the Poly for the thread! I got a lot of information and other stuff!

We did book bounceback and it was a great one :thumbsup2 I have to look at the numbers later to compare but I will give a full report tonight I promise!

Sorry I missed everyone! There were a lot of people there. I am sure we crossed paths or even chatted:hug:

Stay tuned until tonight...:cool1:

Off to work :sad2::sad2::sad2::sad2:

Can't wait to hear! Just 22 days and counting for us and can't wait to hear more tips and information.

I want to send you a big thank you for the Fairy Godmailer! Princess Cinderella just received it today - while sick in bed. It put such a smile on her face and it is laying on her pillow. I will see you at work soon and look forward to seeing your pictures. Please let me know if I can send a Christmas Fairy Godmailer to your daughter. See you soon!:santa::santa::santa::santa::santa:

That is definitely him! I'll need to do some poking around the grounds to find him. Thanks so much!

If you arrive at 7:00 a.m. or later, the CMs at the CL will be on duty. They staff the desk from 7:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m. :thumbsup2

I love this picture. :goodvibes

Can't wait to hear about the bounceback. When we were at AKL a few weeks ago, it was for free dining. When we go next year, I'm secretly hoping for a good room only discount.

ETA: guess it's not so secret, if I posted it on a public forum, is it?

Hi there,

Sorry I missed you. Congrats on your bounceback. We did not get one.:sad2:

Aloha! I can't get it out out of my head!!!:banana::banana:

What can I say....this trip was the best yet. No vomit and no fevers! :cool1: Not to mention I am now officially part of the CL or nothing at all club! Well, if I really had NO choice...;) I would not chose not at all, but you get the point!

I plan on doing a complete trip report but I will give you my abbreviated version for the thread.

We arrived via ME in a record 40 minutes from landing at MCO! It was awesome! We got right on the bus and were the first stop. We walked up and introduced ourselves. They said they would call someone to take us by cart but we wanted to walk. It was great being home :lovestruc:lovestruc

We walked into Hawaii and were greeted with an Aloha by Alexander who is now my new best friend! He got us all checked in and gave us our room keys and information. We were in 3524 with a great view of the quiet pool. I admittedly regret not booking LV in hindsight but we really enjoyed watching fireworks from the lounge while eating the wonderful desserts and cordials :cloud9:

The lounge offerings were wonderful. The way they are limiting food portions is by the size of the plates, they are small and they took all the trays out of the rooms. There are also no paper plates out like I remember from our December stay. I did chat with Chef Dick and he is just a wonderful gentleman.

We found the offerings a great snack and a few nights it was our dinner after big lunches that day! The dessert offerings were my favorite :flower3:

I have to say, the mad rush of people during food offerings was a bit much at times. But there was always enough to go around :thumbsup2 We even got back from EPCOT at about 10pm one night and we were still able to make a little plate of treats to take back to our room as there was still plenty!

We asked for lots of bottled water and were happily given some to take to our room on many occasions. The CMs were all so nice and accommodating. There was one small problem...I ate way too much and drank way too much :rolleyes1

Mousekeeping was excellent. Our room was always clean by noon time and turn down was such a great treat to come back to in the evening. :cloud9:

There was a child’s hand print on the mirror on the bathroom door when we checked in and was still there a day or so later so I did mention that to the lounge CMs. If I had some Windex I would have just cleaned it myself but I did not. It was taken care of and really beside that, the room was always spotlessly cleaned!

The lounge CMs were all very nice. Some more talkative then others. But then again, I like to chat...:hyper2: I met a lot of nice guests as well.

So on to my bounceback. I asked Mousekeeping if they had a flyer and she said no, they were not given any. I went to the front desk and they gave me an old free dining one which had expired  Even that was not so great since both DH and I got 40% off Pin code e-mails the week before we left. So on our last night I mentioned something to the CL CM about lack of bounceback and he made a few calls to the reservation line and finally found someone who knew something and we booked for July! :wizard:

We are staying LVCL with the reg dining plan and park hoppers for the same price as our GVCL and no dining this trip :dance3: I am not sure the percentage off yet because I have not priced out on the WDW site yet but it seems like it was a discount for MYW package and dining plan as well. When I get a minute to compare the numbers I will let you know. I was persistent about the bounceback so if you are going soon, call the reservation line and ask them about bounceback offers because the resort CMs really had no clue?!?

The resort is looking great! They have been sprucing everything up and were even replacing the door mats that say Polynesian when you enter the lobby area and the Hawaii building.

We had so much fun at the pool. DD did not miss the slide at all! They had tons of games and activities for the kids. The activity girls were so much fun. They also did a great job with Halloween. We trick or treated around the resort and then went to the GF beach for a campfire and movie. DD had a great time.

I took tons of pics and got a great deal of information while I was there. I am going to either retool this thread or start a new one...I have not decided yet. I still have to upload my pics from my two cameras.

Yes, TWO cameras! My very expensive camera broke Halloween Morning. Well...actually, it was acting up and DH was messing with it....enough said :headache:

So we had to run to the MK to buy a new one which actually turned out to be a great camera!

Sorry if I rambled on! Full TR to come as well as pics!

By the way, DHS has the Christmas decor up! They are also starting to use the Holiday paper goods at Captain Cooks. There is tons of holiday merchandise as well! I took lots of pics so I am off to upload now and will share soon!

Any questions? Just ask!

Can't wait to read more. Any good items in Boutiki? I love bringing home new Poly sweats/t's and those beautfiul pictures.

I did take pics of merchandise but sadly the Poly logo clothing is not so great in my opinion. I will post what I have soon. We love Boutiki so much. Stopped in there at least twice a day!

Sweet bounce back! If it is a possibility for us to return in less than a year I will definitely pursue one next time, thanks for the tip! :thumbsup2

BTW, I think I passed you on the stairs in the GCH (I recognized Breezy). I should have stopped you, but you looked like you were on your way somewhere and I was heading the other way, and you know how it is ... I had hoped we might bump into you later at the pool. Oh well, maybe next time. You seem to becoming quite a fixture at the Poly! ;)
