I'm flying to NY next year with Delta & was wondering if anyone has flown with them. Just interested in seeing what they are like as last time I flew with Continental. Also we booked through a TA do the seats get allocated in advance or upon check in?

Thanks:goodvibes:

We have got 8 flights with Delta under our belt now and I absolutely love flying with them. I think their in-flight service might well be the best in the industry. Food was pretty nice as airline food goes. On our most recent flights with them we flew from Manchester to Atlanta and then on to Orlando. On the Transatlantic flight we had a touch screen seat-back TV with loads of entertainment choices. However, when we flew from Manchester to New York in 2006 there was no seat-back TVs.

Thanks Corinna, I will have to see if they have seatback tvs on the Heathrow to JFK route, otherwise its going to be a long 8 hours

We jsut flew to Detroit with Delta on the way to Orlando.

Awesome planes, really great and I'd definitely fly with them again.

You will have the IFE to JFK. And it had a really good selection of movies and TV shows and games. You can check in online 24 hours before, which was definitely worth doing for us as unlike a lot of long haul planes the delta ones have just 2 seats by the window, so I made sure Jack and I got those so we didn't have a stranger with us. :)

Thanks:goodvibes I seen the seating configuration & was pleased about the pairs of seats. Hope to get them as then we won't disturb others if we want to get up etc

My thoughts exactly. I like having a window seat, but I always drink lots of water on the plane so I don't get dehydrated, but it means I'm up every 90 minutes and hate disturbing a stranger loads. I don't mind disturbing Jack though! :rotfl:

I'm the same, I don't care about disturbing my friend. My cousin & I were lucky when we went to France as we had a row of 3 to ourselves. Came in handy flying back & the plane was delayed several hours:thumbsup2
