Personally, I would rather they concentrated on getting the right number of pre-ordered special meals on board and allowed parties who'd specifically pre-booked seats in order to sit together to stay together ;)

And don't even get me started on the 'one rule for one and one rule for another' on luggage allowances

What "one rule " on luggage allowances?

Virgin made me repack one of my cases that was 3kg over weight into one of the three under weight cases i had.....even though other cases were being let through overweight and even being stickered as heavy ! It was clearly done because we made a fuss at the desk when they didn't honour any of our requests :headache:

I agree with Joh they should concentrate on getting the customer service up to scratch !

Well, you knew the rules on weight and if one person speeds and doesn't get caught do you thingk you should do the same?

If someone is difficult to someone else in any work situation, then of course the shutters come down and the rules are followed to the letter on that person, its not just virgin.
I have found their customer service to be fine.

Just one other thought, perhaps those overweight cases you saw were from people who had booked at the old luggage allowance?

What a pain Nat. Was this at MCO or DownTown Disney ? as normally they weigh your cases first at DTD before you check in (though this could've changed)

it was MCO mandy, very obvious why it was my case that was singled out !!

Perhaps you can put a positive spin on how virgin only loaded a third of the kids PRE-ORDERED meals on the outbound flight obi and therefore my kids missed out on a meal i had effectivly paid for :confused3

Virgin are launching this new application, which will update your status to your friends when you leave the gate, depart the airport and land at your destination on your facebook profile.
:faint:

That's appalling, Nat! More Easyjet than VA... Have you complained??? Here's their email if you haven't already done so, hun... Customer.relations@fly.virgin.com.

I have issues with VA on that route so am voting with my feet and switching to BA next time I fly to MCO... :sad2:

virgin seem to be doing that often. Sorry you had bad experiences with virgin.

I like the sound of this FB idea :thumbsup2

That's terrible about Virgin not having enough kids meals :headache:

So there was NO food available? or are your children too picky?

That's not the point Obi.
You book something and pay for it, You expect to get it, or your money back if there is no acceptable alternative.

So there was NO food available? or are your children too picky?

Does that matter? If you're invited to pre-book something, surely you are entitled to believe you're going to receive it. I know how my daughter felt when they 'forgot' to load enough vegetarian meals - yes, there were other options available but no, she wouldn't take one... Whether that makes her 'picky' I don't know...

Obi, I can't think why you're getting stuck into this. Don't you remember how p'd off you were when Virgin announced the Clubhouse was closing for refurb without pre-warning those passengers who made a booking when VA must have already known???

It really feels it's a case of 'like it or lump it' with VA out of LGW at the mo...

If you pre-order a children's meal you have a right to expect it to be available.

Completely agree! We flew with BA for the first time this summer (after many, many flights with VA) and the difference was clear. The planes are cleaner and fresher, there is a 21st century IFE that tends to actually work and there was a much more professional approach compared to some of the, let's say, "less desirable" staff we have experienced at MCO and DTD check-in.

We still continue to use VA for flights out of Heathrow, because they've actually bothered to remain competitive with the updated PE and the nicer Airbus planes. Plus the *much* nicer Clubhouse lounge for when we travel UC. But (after our Xmas trip this year) we won't be back to LGW VA again. It's got to the stage now where I'd actually be willing to pay a small premium for BA!

So there was NO food available? or are your children too picky?

This was probably highly likely, I ordered a child's meal on our last flight (not VA but whatever) and they gave DD who was 3 at the time a baby's meal, which consisted of jarred baby food. Obviously this wasn't suitable for her. We were told by cabin staff that there were a preallocated number of meals available and none spare so she didn't get a meal, luckily I had packed some dairylea sandwiches as I feared this may happen.

But the point is that Natalie ordered a meal and it should have been there, not that her kids may be picky - anyhow many kids are so I'm :confused3

That doesn't sound good. Am I being naive? why do you think your case was singled out, Nat?

So there was NO food available? or are your children too picky?

Surely VA are offering a childrens meal so that youngsters with a less developed palete aren't required to eat an adults meal which might not be to their taste, something you may call "picky".
If you offer it, and it has been pre-ordered, you have to supply it.
