How cheaply could my budget minded disfriends do this trip?

They actually do ask. For example Pre-September 2008 if you were in a park wih evening EMH then at a certain time the CM's started filtering guests out and checking resort Key to the World (KTTW) cards to see if you were a resort guest. If you were then u got a wristband if not then you made your way to the exit. Now they have done away with the wristbands and they check at the attractions, asking for your KTTW and/or ID. Different people are reporting different experiences, some strict CMs and some CMs that don't even check. So I think you should only depend on EMH if you are a resort guest. With the intermittent enforcement you might be able to just slip by, but I wouldn't guarantee it.

So you are correct if only 4 people are doing something then you only need 4 keys but if everyone wants to participate then they might not be able to.

We use SkyAuction and buy their blowout deals for $199/week and then book later. It doesn't work as well that way if you have to travel during peak season. We go off-season. If you do the booking directly through SkyAuction it is $299/week per 2 bedroom condo.

To get the blow-out rates, sign up at their site and they will send you emails when the blowouts are available. You then purchase weeks in advance and book later. If you can't do blowout weeks (you aren't flex with dates) then go directly through their site and book the weeks you need.

They don't "ajoin" like hotel rooms (door in between) but you could request ajoining condos.

This is the ONLY way we do Disney these days! I can send you info on using them as we have done it this way now for 4 years.

Another question: Can you go off-season or do you need to be back for school? If you can travel off-season I have another suggestion for you.

I'll have to check into that, but how would that work? Would my oldest daughter be able to be the oldest at on of them? Maybe her and some of the other older girls and then DH and me and the younger set at another or do they have adjoining condos or something like that?

It would be great if you could send me info on them. I'd definitely like to consider it.

Unfortunately, yes, we have to be back for school. The only way we could do off season is if we went for one week during October. Our school gets the whole week of Columbus Day off = that is an option that I just thought of, although we would sooner go for longer than a week if we can afford it.

To be honest, you might get more out of one solid week in October than 2 weeks in the summer!

I don't have time to do all the math on this.....so this is rough estimating.

10 day pass is $210 for a child and $243 for an adult.

So, if you do the give a day/get a day and get $80 towards each, your tickets will be roughly $1,800 for 10 day passes for everyone.

Then if you get 2 condos through SkyAuction for $200-$300 each per week for 2 weeks would be between $800-$1200 for 2 weeks.

You might be able to find a large house for $600/wk too which would be $1200 for 2 weeks.

Eat as many meals as you can outside of Disney (we have a backpack cooler we bring into the parks even if just for water and snacks) and try to stick to your regular grocery amount......

$140 for parking.

And you could do Disney for $3,140 plus gas and budgeted extras.

:thumbsup2

I have no other suggestions other than what others have said...I just wanted to say you are my new hero!:worship::worship::worship: You are blessed:goodvibes

Unfortunately I don't think SkyAuction will work because their inventory is so limited during the regular season which is when the OP needs to go.

We've used SkyAuction several times during the off-season and gotten great deals, but now that our kids are older and can't miss time from school, our choices are very limited and SkyAuction is no longer one of them.

Yeah, I haven't ever used it during peak season. Can you rent a 4 bedroom house for $600-$700 per week? That would most likely come out about the same.

drive to disney

you really only need like 7 days at disney
2 days at magic kindom, 2 days hollywood, 2 epcot 1 at animal kingdom
so do it this way 8 nights with 4 rooms at value 404 night 3232

go with free dinning the reg dinning eat cereal bars and fruit as breakfest one so you only pay 10 per adult and 2 for kid

im not sure what tickets would be but im sure dont get hopper or water

Its the food and ticket that will kill ya thats why you do the free dinning and get room for 8 night so you get enough free dinning to have atleast one nice dinner out but im sure you can do this under 8k just disney part downtown disney is nice if you cannt get free dinning. and you can just take a bus you dont have to pay for parking.

good luck i know you can do that its only a parttime min wage job for a year to get to disney like you have the time with 13 kids lol
