Kids Scooter??

Hiya
I hope I dont get shot down in flames for asking this question, and I kind of already know the answer, but thought I would ask...!
My 7 year old doesn't like the idea of stroller anymore, but I KNOW he will moan all day about tired legs and I was wondering if te parks allow you to use scooters? He is always on them at home when we go shopping etc
I was thinking this could be our solution (I would just buy one in Walmart), that or get a double for him and my younger son, then if he gives in he can jump in with him

Bummer DH will have to walk this year instead of DD towing him on her stroller.

Oh well I thought I would ask!
Im thinking maybe the wheelie shoes now... knowing my lucky my DS would end up in a cast falling over in them!!

Shoes with wheels are also on the not allowed list, no idea how strict they are, I don't recall seeing anyone using them in the parks. I have seen them in shopping malls and DTD but not sure about parks.

I have definitely seen them on kids there... didnt realise they were against the rules though!

My daughter insisted on wearing these one of our days there a few years ago and she didnt even make it to the bus stop without tripping, scraping up her knee and it is still scared to this day. It ruined her day and our morning, we had to get to AK with a crying girl, carry her to the first aid station and get her all bandaged up, it was a pain. I do not reccomend using them, there are too many ppl, too many bumps, etc. My kids have always been able to handle the walking and if its too much, plan a few sit down breaks or take time to go to the shows to get off feet.

I know all children are different but we took stroller when DS was 3 but not when he was 5. Age 5 he walked everywhere.

Same for my lad, hasn't used a stroller since he was five, now seven and does not complain.
However its also up to us to make sure we do not go a "we MUST see everything today!" pace, take it easy and stroll, if you miss a show another will be along in a minute

When we first went DS was 6 he walked every where & as we were staying on the drive with shuttle service he had to keep going all day ! We did have to carry him some evenings as he was exhausted but as i said we were there all day as we didnt get shuttle returns till evening, on hind sight we probably could have hired a stroller when he was getting tired !
By the way not keen on these shoes with wheels my DS 2 Got knocked flying by some kid on them in our local shopping centre never stopped just kept going with his friends laughing, my Ds was screaming more with fright than anything !

You'll probably find that as there is so much to do and rides to sit down on your son will more than likely walk with no moans at all.
When our oldest was nearly 4 we only had 4 days in Orlando before heading on the cruise and down to south Florida. On one day he managed to do Magic Kingdom and EPCOT in a day and din't moan once and we didn't take his buggy either on the trip. He was so excited by everything he was still going strong at midnight in EPCOT. We just made sure that we stopped regularly and had a long lunch and dinner. Good luck!
