How will this effect the Nor'easter you all are supposed to be getting?

I cleaned up the naughty mat last week, swept, dusted and there is a can of lysol to keep the germies at bay!

I know it's cold here.. I wish they would cancel DS9's last football practice... PJ's last XC meet was Tuesday..but I feel for the kids running in regionals on Sat... I hope the sun is out to keep them a little warm during the race..

Fall? We didn't have a fall.... it's the brisk pre-winter stuff here...minus the white stuff... it's a nasty brisk wind we have had for days.. We can't even go out and enjoy the fall leaves changing colors.. I told DH the other day..the leaves started to turn..and got no further now the leaves are falling off mostly still GREEN!

I'm not a fan, but it might be a little better than what we're getting.....prettier to look at, anyway. It's been raining here for the last two days, and it's in the 40's. We haven't had any pretty fall colors either.

I know you don't want to hear this - but I wish I were there! I haven't seen snow in a long time. I used to live in NJ and in CO and loved to watch the snow fall, but, snow is only fun if you're warm at home with nowhere to go and nothing to do but bake cookies!

Here, it's been in the 90's with a heat index of 100 all week. Kids are playing on our street in shorts and tee-shirts. We're supposed to get a "cold front" this weekend and drop to the 70's - absolutely perfect weather IMO and I cannot wait! I really hope it's cool out for Halloween. It's just not right to have Halloween in the 80's or 90's

Buffy I'll trade ya we're scheduled for ice tonight!!!! excuse me but someone forgot to look at the dang calender it's not even halloween at this rate both boys will be going as snowmobilers cause they gonna need the snowsuits instead of just long underwear.

I just finished wrapping the last 29 round bales of the haying season today, guess I got it done just in time. Tomorrow we're supposed to be moving them out of the field and to the barn. I'm trying to convince the husband that I can handle the other guys tractor with the grabber cause it has a cab and heater some how I know I'll end up on the open tractor with the trailer freezing like I did wrapping

I wanted to cut the grass one last time today!!

Our neighbors across the street baled yesterday, baled it green too. I hope they don't set the whole street on fire.

My husband would be thrilled not to have to mow the grass again- we are still doing our 5 acres weekly.

We only cut 1/2 an acre of the 1 acre lot. But mom's party is next weekend and it really needed to be done one more time.

Ours is in the big marshemellows for haylage, so we wanted it green. Husband loves the pickled smell yeah me no thanks. at least this hay is all tractor work and it doesn't bother my allergies. definately need to convince father that we need a grabber and a cab on his tractor. I'm to old (haha) for this.

On another note and please don't report me to DSS. My almost 9 year old is now driving our 1050 (35hp) tractor and I put him on it, good thing husband was in the cab or he would have fallen off. I'm always freaking out when he lets the older one drive with equipment.

Is that stuff still falling? I'm off to check the weather husband is at a s***mobile meeting.

We are supposed to have a nor'easter? I hadn't heard that either. It is still dropping the white stuff but fortunately it will only be a dusting of about 3". Trying to convince myself that even though we are getting this in October, the last time we had the white stuff this early, we didn't get anymore for the rest of the winter season (1979/1980).

The woodstove is going, all snug and warm.

Heck, you're JUST getting snow?

It was blowing snow out here last Saturday. It was miserable. I had a turtleneck, a fleece jacket, and a winter jacket on with ear muffs and it didn't help! It was in the 20's Saturday night, too.

It's freezing rain now, and the temps keep dropping. I'm soooo cold!!!! We haven't had the furnace serviced yet so I haven't turned the heat on. DH bought some electric space heaters last week to knock the chill off but I don't know how well they will work tonight. I may move the one from downstairs up and put one in our room and one in the boys room.
Good thing I put the flannel sheets on over the weekend!! I guess I will go back to target tomorrow and buy some for the boys. And I got the afghans washed so those can go on the bed too.
