Well we are just back from 2 weeks in sunny Florida and 10 of those days was spent in magical WDW! We stayed at CBR and wow what a change from what we were use to. We have always stayed at POLY and we will be back to POLY or GF on our next trip for sure! CBR was nice but its not POLY;)

Okay so the cast that ate way too much!

ME - A health freak, I workout all the time and eat super lean and healthy. At home my meals consist of lean meat and fish and salads so as you all guessed, yes I gained weight on this trip but that was to be expected...LOL I love seafood and fresh salads and my downfall is yummy pastries and cheesecake....only when I'm on vacation.....LOL

DH - Also has been eating really lean but loves a good steak and yummy pastries.

DD - 6 years old - picky picky but will eat snacks all day.....LOL

So here is where we ate and what I will review with pics in the order that we ate:

Old Port Royale (at CBR) - lunch

I'm glad there was no ugly (and hopefully not much bad :thumbsup2)

Looking forward to your reviews!

Count me in - there are lots of interesting restaurant choices on your list!

Can't wait for you to start your reviews! :goodvibes

So we arrived at CBR at about 2pm and our room was not ready so we decided to head over to Old Port Royale and grab a bite. Old Port Royale is quite big and there are several service stations but all very fast food type of food. I am so not a fan of fast food but understand the need for it.....quick and easy but definately not very healthy. Well I tried to find one of the healtiest meal and I came up with this:

2799052180105746604S425x425Q85.jpg

Its an "ORIENTAL CHICKEN SALAD". The chicken in it was pretty good but it had tooooooo much dressing and it made the lettuce soggy, especially the lettuce on the bottom. I only ate about half of it! I wouldn't order it again unless I ordered it with the dressing on the side!

DH had the "PHILLY CHEESESTEAK SANDWICH":

2989843970105746604S500x500Q85.jpg

Sorry he had already eaten almost half before I took a pic.....LOL
He said it was pretty good. The homemade chips were really good. I even stold a few;)

Now DD had the kids "CHEESE PIZZA". Sorry but I ordered her food and then while she ate I got mine and DH so when I got back to the table the pizza was almost gone....LOL But it was just a small individual pizza, nothing special!

So overall we weren't too impressed but we weren't expecting anything fabulous either. But we were hungry from our flight and it filled the hole.....LOL

I guess I will say a 6 out of 10!

We were not impressed with the foodcourt at Old Port Royale either! We have stayed at the CBR twice and walked through the food court in search of something we might have liked, but we ALWAYS ended up driving over to DTD to eat at WPE or EOS. Thank god for the rental car!! :goodvibes

I'm glad its not just us;) We only had a rental for the last 2 days of our time at WDW b/c we needed it for the beach for the rest of our trip but I was great having it those 2 days.

I was looking forward to this dinner. I keep hearing about the great show the chefs do and the famous volcano.

We had ressies for 7:50pm a bit later than I like to eat but it was all I could get. We got there at 7:30pm but weren't seated until 8:30pm.....SERIOUSLY that is just CRAZY! We encountered this alot during this trip and honestly Disney needs to fix this problem. DH pretty much said this alone would make him stop going to Disney:eek:
So we were seated with a family of 4 and an older couple from Australia (very nice couple). The waitress was a bit hard to understand and the chef took forever to come out and set up. By this time my 6 year old is tired and is not interested in eating or food.
The chef finally came out and the waitress had written the wrong order for my DH down so the chef had to go back and get the right item.....yup more wait time.
So he started his show and I think we got the worst chef. By this time we had watched 2 other chefs do their thing and after ours was done we watched another one and they were all more exciting than ours. Ours was a bit boring, not that energetic and comical.

So here is the chef starting to make our meals:

2002257800105746604S600x600Q85.jpg

Here he is making the famous volcano:

Fueling the volcano:

It's smoking:

[IMG]http://inlinethumb55.webshots.com/5878/2303034040105746604S600x600Q85.jpg

SO here is my plate of veggies, noodles and the bowl of rice:

2207217520105746604S600x600Q85.jpg

So DH ordered the "STEAK & SCALLOPS".....its actually not on the menu so we paid OP for the scallops:

2519657320105746604S600x600Q85.jpg

You can see the 3 sauces that come with the meal......and DH asked the chef to pour a bunch of the white sauce on his plate....LOL

Here is my plate "CHICKEN & SHRIMP":

2521564610105746604S600x600Q85.jpg

DD got just chicken but I didn't take a pic of her plate. She did not like it at all. But it may have been the sleep talking....LOL ;)

So both DH and I LOVED the food, it was soooooo delicious!

We then ordered the same dessert....the "GREEN TEA PUDDING"....honestly when we received it we thought it would not taste good......it really isn't the nicest looking pudding but OMG it was sooooooo YUMMY:

2455112290105746604S600x600Q85.jpg

It actually is more of a green tint on it than it shows in the picture.

I also ordered hot green tea with my meal.........I am a huge green tea drinker and I can taste the crap green tea from the good quality green tea and this one was soooo good!

2560393360105746604S600x600Q85.jpg

So we did really enjoy the food but the chef was not the greatest and the long wait to get in is very disappointing.

So Teppan Edo will get a 8 out of 10.

Apart from your wait and the "chef" your visit to Teppan Edo looks really good! We have never been but I might consider that when we meet our US friends again next summer, :goodvibes
We had that green tea pudding last summer when we ate at Tokyo Dining and I was somewhat "surprised" at the look of it when they brought it out :lmao:. But it was SO good once you tasted it. So, don't let the appearance fool you!

What's up next?

Love the pics of Teppan Edo. That was my kids favorite. It would be the one place that if we ever doing DDP with kids again they would insist on going back. My son liked it so much that we went to our local Japanese Steakhouse for his bday. (When I say local I mean the next town over btw.) It wasn't nearly as good as Epcots and it cost about the same. :scared1: We also had a horrible wait. I think if we do it again we would get an early ADR before they get backed up. I think I will have to try the green tea pudding too. I hated the ginger choc cake. Desserts were a big disappointment but everything else was great.

Keep the reviews coming. Food porn: my favorite part of DIS! :rotfl:

What's up next?

Funny.....it really does not look appealing but its a nice surprise to the taste buds! ;) The tea pudding was very yummy! Appearance is not everything!

Up next is one of our favourite breakfasts......Crystal Palace!

Definately this is a place to get an early ADR! Food porn is also my fave part of Dis.....LOL

Wow :thumbsup2 Teppan Edo looks lovely.

It was very nice!

Love the pics. Can't wait for the rest!

Thanks :)

I'm back and its time for my fave breakfast buffet at WDW..........CRYSTAL PALACE!

We make sure to eat here on every trip and this time we had 2 breakfasts here:lovestruc

The character interaction is always great, its a big restaurant so the wait is usually minimal, the food is yummy and the best part..........you get into MK before rope drop :banana: I just love an empty main street! Unfortunately we were running late for our ADR, I am not a fan of the bus system at WDW. I am use to the monorail from POLY taking minutes so the reality of taking a bus from CBR to MK when these buses have no schedule I am not a fan. We sat at the bus stop for 40 minutes....we saw 2 Epcot buses, an Animal Kindgom bus and a DHS bus before we finally saw our MK bus.....very fustrating! Anyho lesson learned.......only stay at a resort on the monorail;) My rant started b/c I wanted to explain that I didn't get a pic of us on an empty main street because I didn't want to be even later for our ADR:headache:

Okay so once we got there, there was a bit of a line to check in. I gave my name and we waited for about 15 minutes. Not bad, no complains there.

So here is the fave Crystal Palace:

2590542090105746604S600x600Q85.jpg

That is everyone waiting outside to be called.

So when we got in the characters can with a fury.....LOL

They can so quickly that while I went to get DD's breakfast I missed a character:sad2: I hate when that happens. But I always go grab DD's food first because she takes forever to eat!

I guess I should add that DD has a PEANUT ALLERGY and I have to say Disney is fantastic with allergies. We have been through this last year so I knew more or less what DD could eat at the buffet so I did get her food before the chef came out. WHen I made my ADRs I had the allergy placed on it so they would have a chef come out and explain what she could and could not eat. The chef here was very nice and walked me through the whole buffet.

So here is the only picture I did get of one of my plates:

2434475060105746604S600x600Q85.jpg

I apologize but b/c the characters came so quickly it threw me right off and DH still was not on the ball with taking pics of food.....LOL.....but that quickly changed:rotfl:

So the fruit was very fresh and yummy. The pastries as well. DH had an omelette made but the line was quite long. So far this is still our fave breakfast!

Here are a few pics of the characters having fun with us:

2261520250105746604S600x600Q85.jpg

2057844950105746604S600x600Q85.jpg

So I will give Crystal Palace a 8.5 out of 10.

Up next Old Port Royal (CBR) again for lunch! Are you hoping its better than last time?

So after the morning at MK we headed back to CBR to go for a swim but decided to grab a bite to eat at Old Port Royale.

So DD had the PIZZA........surprise, surprise! This is a pic of only half of the pizza since I was busy getting my food and she had started eating.

2782971790105746604S600x600Q85.jpg

DD always picks the carrots and I was very disappointed that alot of the carrot packs had dried up carrots! :sad2: I am not a big fan of the kids meals, I really hope Disney revamps them!

DH had a DOUBLE CHEESEBURGER and he said it was "just a cheeseburger":

2194628010105746604S600x600Q85.jpg

And I had the GRILLED CHICKEN and again it was just a grilled chicken, a bit on the bland side!

2979524260105746604S600x600Q85.jpg

DH got the ice cream sundae for dessert that you go get yourself from the machine. Sorry no pictures of that. And I got the CARROT CAKE:

2833958980105746604S600x600Q85.jpg

Honestly there was more icing on this then actual cake which is very annoying for me. I am not a sweets person so I was hoping for some yummy carrot cake.....I could hardly see any carrot in this cake. Seriously Disney, healthier options would be great!

So I have to give this meal a 5 out of 10.

Up next is Cape May for dinner and seriously I had some amazing desserts there......check back for the review and pictures!

So I have been hearing about the clam bake at Cape May for a long time and I knew I had to try it out this time around. So we decided to take a taxi from CBR to BC, it seemed like the best way to get there and we got there very quickly for under $10 (tip in). Definately worth the money! We had a nice cabbie too!

So we got to Cape May and gave our name, we waited no more than 10 mins. That's what I like:thumbsup2 We were seated and odered our drink, our waitress was very very friendly! Great service! The buffet had a good selection. DH and I both tried the New England Clam Chowder. It was YUMMY! Here's a pic:

2779592670105746604S600x600Q85.jpg

I was going to have a second bowl of soup but knew there was clams and mussels (nope no crab) so I saved room for that.....LOL

They have these really cute buckets for you to get your clams and mussels, great idea. Here is a pic of the clams:

2968078020105746604S600x600Q85.jpg

Here is a pic of the mussels:

2836711090105746604S600x600Q85.jpg

Personally they were a bit bland but you have to remember I'm Portuguese and we do fish really good :lmao: These clams and mussels were just steamed, we like clams and mussels with a broth and spices so it ws just bland to us but they were fresh so thats a positive!

So I decided to try other items on the buffet since the clams and mussels didn't really cut it in my books. Here is a pic of "Smoked BBQ Pork Ribs", "Steamed Shrimp", "Mixed Cooked Veggies with Sausage":

2206478710105746604S600x600Q85.jpg

The ribs were quite tasty, the shrimp had no taste and the mixed veggies and sausage was very good.....I went back for more of that...LOL

Here is my other plate with more of the "Veggies and Sausage", "Green Beans", "Chicken" and "Fried Fish in a Batter":

2272613470105746604S600x600Q85.jpg

The green beans were good, the chicken was okay but the battered fish was delicious and the tarter sauce so yummy! I wanted more but stopped there because I saw the dessert section when we walked in;)

So for dessert they have 2 sections. When you first enter the restaurant there is a small buffet section all by itself and it had this:

2945965700105746604S600x600Q85.jpg

Starting at the top right is a flan, key lime pie tart, Oreo bon bon, cheesecake and a cake. OMG.....the cheesecake was heavenly. It was soooooo good! The Oreo bon bon was also very good, the key lime was tasteless, the flan was excellent and the raspberry cake was just okay.

Then on the main buffet they had a dessert section with brownies and cookies and apple cobbler:

2735654690105746604S600x600Q85.jpg

The apple cobbler was EXCELLENT. I went back for more. It was sooooo good!

Would I return to Cape May for dinner........if I did it would be for the dessert:rotfl:

I give Cape May a 7.5 out of 10 because honestly the main course food really needs to improve.

Thanks for reading!

Up next is Old Port Royale for breakfast! Will it be better than the lunches we had there?

I LOVE the fried talapia and tartar sauce from Cape May...it is my favorite thing ever!
