:thumbsup2:yay:

If anyone is interested I will post the link so you all can see my little nest...It needs some more work but I will miss it...:sad1:

May baby is 7 months old today! :cake: I can't believe it!

Of course we want to see your nest! I am so glad that Tom is adjusting well, that is a big move and it is awesome that it is working out!

Happy 7 Months Tommy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

quick question baby-b, is the BP supposed top be 1 1/2 cups or 1 1 /2 tsp?

Katie has a "Night of Excellence" at church that parents are invited to, so it will have to be something quick and easy. I'm thinking maybe a tuna pizza.

Timothy is doing pretty well, although he still wakes up at least once a night and has to figure out how to get himself to sleep again. The last few nights have been better, as he's only cried for about half an hour instead of the hour and a half it has been.

YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Katie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Welby said that Nola has been waking up during the night too. She is taking her off the bottle and my little Princess is not cooperating with that! Sunday Marisa dn I walked over and we could hear her babbling and then that sad cry, she'd wait and start that pathetic little cry again. Good thing Buddy was not there, that little girl just peeps here and she is in his arms :upsidedow

Sheryl, signed on looking for an Alexis update. Thinking of you all.

Nancy, sorry to hear about Buddy's news. Sending prayers the Vitamin A does it's thing. Eye sight is a precious thing. My DM went to her Dr. this week for her regular diabetes vision test. She was told she has the worst type of cataract there is and has to have surgery. It spreads rapidly and can totally throw off her depth perception. I hate the idea of her having surgery, but it is not anything to postpone. She has to make arrangement to have it taken care of. I will pray to Buddy.

Lauren, I can not believe that he is already 7 months. Time flies and they grow so quickly. Emma slept from 8-6am, ate and is still sleeping. So far her sleeping is spoiling me too! Give the birthday boy a kiss from me.:cloud9:

flying_babyb Welcome, thanks for sharing the recipe.

-----

Going to my parents for lunch in the rain.

WFD- baked pork chops (coated in mayo & bread crumbs, a low cal favorite of DH), apple sauce, pilaf, and peas.

 Gonna post now before I the power goes out again.

Hey y'all,

Just read back a little.

Nancy, I'm so sad for Buddy!:sad1: Prayers that the vit A will help him retain the vision he has. :flower3:

Kathy, I'm glad the ankle is a little better today. Please try to rest it as much as possible. Prayers that the healing continues!

Lauren, I'm glad that the changes are working out for your family!

Ann, Prayers that your Mom's cataract surgery will be super succesful.:flower3:

Well, they have found the culprit that's been making our girl so sick. It is c-diff bacteria. It was brought on by all the antibiotics she was on after surgery. It's strange that to get rid of it, they have to give more antibiotics plus probiotics to build up the good bacteria. We don't know when she'll be released yet. The surgeon (who is not actually her dr for this) is the one that came tell Chris last night. The internist didn't bother to come by to tell her! We are really worried about the amount of school she's missing. Chris will have to talk to the Principal about it. We're hoping as long as her grades stay up that they will promote her at the end of the year.

Latest update: The doctors will have a meeting to discuss how long they will keep her in the hospital. One dr feels this is too serious to let her go home, another thinks Chris can handle it.

Sheryl, I am glad that you have a diagnosis! I am not familiar with c-dif...will she have a fast recovery now that they know what it is? I am sure that the principal will work with you all to be sure that she can still move ahead.

Vickie, I am glad that you will be able to fly! I hope your doc gave you some good meds, just in case...

Nancy, I am sorry to hear about Buddy. Hopefully the vitamin A will help slow things down.

I am making a recipe from this month's cooking light magazine tonight...spicy singapore-style noodles with shrimp, and some baby bok choy on the side.

Becky,I don't think they expect a quick recovery. It's a bacteria that's very antibiotic resistant, Chris said the drs seemed very concerned. She seems to be feeling good, but is still having diarrhea. They took blood & are waiting for the white blood cell count before making any decisions.

Sheryl- I'm glad they found the problem, is she well enough to do school work in the hospital? I'm sure they will figure out a way for her to get up to speed. You all sure don't need anything else to worry about.

Ann- Sometimes when I make porkchops like that I coat them with wasabi mayo, so tasty.

Kathy- I am so good a jinxing things my husband won't even let me mention poison ivy, everytime I do he ends up with it in a day or two. Don't forget, just because your ankle is feeling better doesn't mean it is, take it easy.

Glynis- I forget how much earlier your kids start school, it seems so soon to be having conferences. Enjoy your lunch out.

Lauren- I'm sure you'll miss your home, you've put so much work into it. I'd love to see pictures.

Nancy- My father in law can only see straight in front of him with one eye and he seems to be doing well. If he looks to the sides he sees double. I'm sure Buddy will adjust as his vision changes and he might not even notice. Macular degeneration runs very strong in my family and it's scary to think I might only have thirty more good years of seeing. It just makes me enjoy everyday sights more.

Thank you all for the kind words on the passing of our friend.

Well I'm officially ready to go back to work. I keep checking the clock and time seems to go so slow. I really need to find something to keep me busy.

Dinner tonight is mini turkey-spinach meatloaf, a new recipe but it looks good. I've never put spinach in meatloaf. Leftover potatoes from last night and maybe carrots, have to see what veggies I have.

Sheryl I am glad they at least know what her problem is. Around here for kids in the hospital or for long illnesses they have tudors that come to the home.

Nothing new here. No results from labs yet. She is having a little less pain, looks better, is eating, but still having diarrhea. She is very cranky.

And she deserves to be. Heavens knows that child has been through so much. I'm glad you finally got a diagnosis, but I'm sorry the cure is such a long process.

Tomorrow I'm going through my Grandma & Great Grandma's trunks so there will be plenty of dust & tears.

 That's always tough for me too.

I really have to be in a mood too. For the stuff Nancy is doing, I really have to be in the mood to write a check so someone else can do it.

:lmao::lmao: Me too!

Well the news was not great last night. I told you that Buddy has Atypical Retinosa Pigmentosa and it is atypical because the pigment is not spreading. It is the same as it was two years ago but the Dr said that he is losing his side vision. She told us that she has seen this happen but that she really does not know why the pigment is stable. The way Buddy's RP presents is pretty rare so they don't really know why the side vision is affected without the pigment spreading. Anyway, she said he now needs the massive dose of Vitamin A so I will have his prescription filled today. It is all that can be done to slow this down. He still meets the standard for his license, thank God! He told her that he has not noticed any issues when he drives but she wanted him to be aware. He was stunned.

Nancy, I'm so sorry Buddy's news wasn't better. Prayers that the Vitamin A works for him.

Dinner will be out tonight. I am sick of working my butt off only to have to cook dinner and have another mess. We signed a listing agreement and they are coming to take more pics tomorrow. If anyone is interested I will post the link so you all can see my little nest...It needs some more work but I will miss it...:sad1:

If anyone deserves take out, it's you. I can't imagine doing all that myself, with a child and a baby, then cooking on top of it all. If A is like my kids, he'd rather have take out. So, take it as easy on yourself as possible.

Glynis - I hate to jinx it but the swelling is down a little and the pain is minimal! Of course it's early in the day, we shall see, bbl.......

That is good news! I hope that continues today.

Going to my parents for lunch in the rain.

Have fun.

Robin that is frightening! I hope you escape that disease.

I have no idea what we are having for dinner tonight but I need to decide pretty quickly. I have to go home early today because my Wednesday therapist tested positive for the flu Monday. Thankfully we don't think Hailey was exposed since she contracted it on Sunday and her last shift was Wednesday afternoon. I have Hailey covered until the last hour of the day when my Mom has dinner plans with friends.

Good news! Her white blood cell count is 7!!! :cool1::banana::yay: Still discusses if they are going to let her out. Also checking CDC regulations on return to school. :sad1:

This is great news, but don't over do it. Take it easy and rest.

Going to my parents for lunch in the rain.

Please take an umbrella. You could get wet before you are through. :rotfl:

Sheryl~ I am so glad to know that they know what is wrong with our angel. Bless her heart. Now to just get her healed. I always say I can handle anything as long as I know what it is. The school better cooperate.

Doug and I got a nice long walk in last night, about 3 miles. It was a beautiful night out. Today it is supposed to be in the 70's but the wind is to blow around 35 MPH. Yuck!!

Tonight is date night - I have to tell you something funny that happened this morning. Doug & I have been invited out to dinner tomorrow before the BIG Nebraska/Missouri game. So I got up early this morning and got the crock pot started with beef for Beef & Dumplings for dinner tonight. Doug asked me what I was doing and I told him getting Dinner ready for tonight. He "flipped" out. "WHAT ABOUT DATE NIGHT?" I tried to explain to him that we were eating out tomorrow night so we can eat at home tonight. Well, one look at his face and I changed plans real quick - WE ARE GOING OUT FOR DATE NIGHT tonight. And you had better believe I will NEVER mess with it again. Oh my!!

Here is a fun thing I thought all of you with little ones might want to try.

Edible Spiders

You'll need:
Round crackers
Peanut butter (if you are allergic to peanut butter you can use marshmallow cream instead)
Chocolate chips
mini-pretzel sticks

Take one round cracker and spread peanut butter on it.
Push 8 pretzel sticks into the peanut butter. These are the "legs"
Put a second cracker on top (You may need to add a little more peanut butter first.)
Using a little peanut butter as "glue," stick 2 chocolate chips on top of the crackers. These are the "eyes".

Ethan and I made these this weekend and we had a ball. Have fun!!

Aimee I don't know about soy maybe someone else can chime in. I can't have soy. I have to avoid plant estrogens. Can you not have milk even when cooked? I can tolerate cooked milk just not a glass of milk. And for some reason chocolate milk (not that your going to use it in soup) I can have in small doses. The Dr said something in the chocolate breaks down the lactose. Who knew chocolate was so good :confused3

I'm not really sure - I know drinks with milk don't do well, but cheese and stuff doesn't seem to be as bad. I didn't know in a soup that has a lot of milk if it'd bother me. I can try it and see!

 Buddy. I can't imagine the feeling of losing your sight. :sad1:

Glad there's a diagnosis and treatment plan. I'm sure the school with do what they can to help her through this. She can't be the first kid in the school to encounter some health issues.

I am making a recipe from this month's cooking light magazine tonight...spicy singapore-style noodles with shrimp, and some baby bok choy on the side.

All those noodle dishes looked interesting - I'm curious as to how you liked it!

Today is Wed (again) so I'm here until 9pm or so. I meant to bring enough food for lunch and dinner but forgot so I ate my leftovers for lunch and will have to do something about dinner :confused3

Sheryl--glad to know that you have a diagnosis (C. dificile would have been my guess as well. Was she on clindamycin after her surgery? That's a big culprit in the antibiotic world) And glad to hear that her WBC count is stabilizing! Hopefully she can go home to recover and be back in school ASAP! And I would think that the school will definitely work with ya'll; I mean, wasn't she back to getting A's after the surgery?

Kathy--PD that the ankle continues to improve!

Robin--so sorry for the loss of your family friend

Vickie-- How sweet are you!!! Glad you got the all clear, even if it was forced!;)

I'm trying out a new chili recipe tonight--Beef, black bean and chorizo. We shall see, if it's tasty I'll post the recipe. Only 9 more days!!!! WooHoo!!!!:banana:

Nancy -- I'm sorry Buddy did not get better news. I hope the vitamin A works!

Lauren -- Seven months already! He is getting so big so fast. That is a great stage with all kinds of new firsts. Of course I want to see pictures of your house!

Sheryl -- I'm glad you have a diagnosis, and I am happy the white cell count has come down. I hope they let her go home soon! Also, I am sure the school will work with Alexis to get her caught up. It is so early in the year.

Ann -- I hope your mom's eye surgery is a success.

Well I'm officially ready to go back to work.

It does take time to find a routine. Once you do, you'll probably wonder how you ever managed to fit a work schedule into your week. Good luck!

Gretchen -- I'm sorry your aide is ill. I think I read the other day that a person with flu can be contagious up to 24 hours before symptoms appear, so Hailey should be okay.

Kathy -- I'm glad your ankle is feeling a little better. Keep resting.

Glynis -- Congratulations to Katie!

Ellen -- Enjoy date night.

Today was an early release day here, so I have a yard full of kids, which is better than a houseful of kids. ;) It was raining earlier, but it is clear now. Liam and Caili have gymnastics later, so I am still trying to figure out what we will have for dinner.

Nancy, I'm so sad & worried about Buddy. Prayers that the Vit A gets to work.
How are you holding up?

Kat, good news on the ankle!

Sheryl, so glad things are looking up!!!:goodvibes

Lauren, I want to see your nest!

I'm back in the attic today.....G** when will this project be over!!??? UGH

Good news! Her white blood cell count is 7!!! :cool1::banana::yay: Still discusses if they are going to let her out. Also checking CDC regulations on return to school. :sad1:

How are you holding up?

I'm okay. I am waiting to hear from his Dr about the MRI results. He had one good day and was right back yesterday. He is sick of dr visits and so am I.

Sheryl – So relieved to read they have discovered the cause of Alexis’ illness. Hopefully she’ll be getting better very soon and can return to school.

Gretchen – Keeping my fingers crossed that Hailey doesn’t get sick, poor baby has had a rough week.

Ellen –I like the way your Doug thinks!!!!:thumbsup2

Steph – I’m not a big chili fan but that one sounds really good!!!

I have GREAT news!!! They are going to let her out of here sometime today!!!!:hippie::lmao::worship::yay: (alexis chose the smilies)

Nancy, I hope Buddy starts to feel better!

Prayers please...Johnny's blood pressure is 200/110, he started on a new bp med this week, hoping that's the cause, heading to the dr.
