I can't take it any longer! My trip is almost here and I have some very exciting news! :yay:

First...the cast:
Me!

BirthdayTrip09301.jpg

Hi, I'm Kelly, pleased to meet you :flower3: I'm 24, I'll try most any food once. I'm really not a fan of spicy foods though, if it's spicy, I stay away. I absolutely love pastas and bread...Dr Atkins hates me. I also hate onions, with a passion. Fan of all things Disney.

And...the boyfriend.

BirthdayTrip09355.jpg

He'll be turning 25 the week before our trip (or in about a week...take your pick.) So we're "celebrating" his birthday on this trip. We were gonna go for his birthday...until we looked at airfare and nearly fainted. So instead we're going down the week after. He's okay with it. He loves just about all foods, except tomatoes. Nasty, evil tomatoes.

We're staying at POP! so we get the QSDP for free :cheer2: This will be my second time using the QSDP, I'm awfully excited about it. Mostly for the 12 free "snacks" (aka glutton fest we'll be having at F&W.) There will be a few CS restaurants thrown in, as well as breakfast at Kona!!

So what's this exciting news?? I'm glad you asked.

My technologically advanced boyfriend has an iPhone, which we've set up with my Twitter account (found here.) So, if you just can't wait for my return...and honestly, I can't blame you...come on over to Twitter and become one of my minions, errr, followers :goodvibes (Note: for those of you without a Twitter account, you can still pop over when I'm down and check out what I've posted, no need for an actual account!) So I'll be posting live! via Twitter...I told you it was exciting!

Our current dining plans are as follows:
Day 1 (Thursday): Lunch at Pop Century, MNSSHP dinner probably at Peco's Bills!
Day 2 (Friday): Breakfast at Pop, lunch at HS...possibly Starring Rolls or Backlot, dinner "snacking" at F&W
Day 3 (Saturday): Breakfast at AKL (Mara...I want Mickey Waffles...), lunch at Yak & Yeti, dinner "snacking" at F&W
Day 4 (Sunday): Breakfast at Kona, late lunch at WPE

Sounds good? Any suggestions?

Sounds very good, but you don't usually go wrong where food is concerned!! I cannot believe you are only two weeks away today!!:banana::banana:

Have a great trip and be sure to stop and say hello if you see us wandering around! :goodvibes

Stopping by so I am subbed!!!!

I want to remember to check this when I get back!;)

You will help me cure my post trip blues!:goodvibes

I'm here too...especially interested in the "snacking" around F&W as Mark and I are thinking of going at that time next year to meet the Food Queen, Nicki (of MickeyNicki)

We'll be arriving on Sat the 17th!!!!! Have a great time!:thumbsup2

I will! Same to you, I'll be sporting my LGMH on my spiffy new one shoulder bag (more hands to eat with...) so say hi if you see us!

When you say that, the song "Car Wash Blues" by Jim Croce pops into my head. I think that's weird. Have fun on your trip tomorrow!

Count me in..you guys are so cute!

Thanks! :flower3: And thanks for doing research for us, it's so kind of you

It's so much fun! This is my third year in a row now! You should go!

WAIT!!!!!!!! Don't start without me ........... if I can't go there myself, let me see it through your eyes!

Can't wait for your review! :flower3:

Not sure if you'll run into me, either. But if you do, say hi. :flower3:

:yay: Glad you're onboard!

Subbing! Following you on Twitter too!

:woohoo: Does that make you my tweep? I don't get the lingo... I promise to be better about updating my twitter at Disney than I am at home ::yes::

Not sure if you'll run into me, either. But if you do, say hi. :flower3:

 Promise! I'm surprised at how many DISers are going to be there that weekend!

I posted this over on my PTR, but now that some pictures are out, I'm going to narrow down our "list." My comments will be in blue, any other comments are welcome :goodvibes

Athens, Greece Location: Canada Pavilion

• Chicken Souvlaki with Tzatziki
• Baklava -I saw on www.disneyfoodblog.com the "Baklava Throwdown" and apparently there's not much difference between the baklava here and the baklava at the Morocco kiosk. And it doesn't look much different than the one served at the Tangierene Cafe, so we'll probably have one between all three, not one of each! Can you say baklava overload??

Bangkok, Thailand - Location: Africa Outpost

• Green Papaya Salad with Shrimp

Buenos Aires, Argentina Location: Mexico Pavilion

• Beef Empanada with Tomato Salsa
• Grilled Beef Skewer with Chimichurri Sauce and Boniato Pureé

Cape Town, South Africa Location: Africa Outpost

• Mealie Soup with Crabmeat and Chili Oil -I haven't seen any comments on this one yet :confused3
• Seared Beef Tenderloin with Sweet Potato Purée, Mango Barbecue Sauce

Cork, Ireland Location: United Kingdom Pavilion

• Lobster & Scallop Fisherman's Pie -I'm excited to try this, I've heard good things about it!
• Kerrygold Cheese Selection: Aged-Irish Cheddar, Dubliner and Ivernia Cheese with Apple Chutney and Brown Bread -Might be coming off the list in favor of Mousecatch cheese. It doesn't look like it's changed much from last year, and I remember last year thinking "ehhh"
• Warm Chocolate Lava Cake with Bailey's Ganache -Barely made the cut, but now it's a solid "we need to try this." I've heard nothing but raves for it.

Kraków, Poland Location: Norway Pavilion

• Kielbasa and Potato Pierogie with Caramelized Onions and Sour Cream -Gotta have my pierogie :) Think they'll give me two?

Marrakesh, Morocco Location: Morocco Pavilion

• Kefta (Ground seasoned beef in a pita pocket)
• Falafel Pita Pocket
• Baklava
My boyfriend is more into this booth than I am. I haven't heard too much feedback on these items yet, except of course the baklava!

Melbourne, Australia Location: Africa Outpost

• Grilled Lamb Chop, Red Wine Sauce, Murray River Sea Salt -I was skeptical about this at first, but I think it's the breakout star. If I leave without trying this, I'll be sad.
• Lamington -Haven't seen anything on this, but I have a sweet tooth, so it's on the list!

Mexico City, Mexico Location: Mexico Pavilion

• Taco de Cochinita Pibil (Corn Tortilla filled with Shredded Pork and Purple Onions)
• Mousse de Piña y Coco
• Chilaquiles (Baked Tortillas Layered with Chicken and Cheese)
We might just be skipping Mexico. I haven't seen anything that says I have to stop here, and the Chilaquiles aren't an option any more, so that's definitely off!

Montreal, Canada Location: Canada Pavilion

• Canadian Cheddar Cheese Soup
• Maple Glazed Salmon with Lentil Salad
• Maple Sugar Candy
Since the first 2 are the same as last year, they might get skipped in favor of new things. My boyfriend is from Vermont, so Maple Sugar Candy isn't anything new. It might depend if my sweet tooth is in overdrive or not!

Munich, Germany Location: Germany Pavilion

• Späetzle Gratin with Ham and Cheese
• Nuernberger Sausage on a Pretzel Roll
• Apple Strudel with Vanilla Sauce
I think I'm most disappointed with the food coming out of the German kiosk this year. The Spaetzle Gratin? Ugh, that's no spaetzle...I love spaetzle! So disappointed it's changed from last year! And the Sausage? It doesn't even fit properly on the roll and they don't have sauerkraut for it like last year! Why bother... I might still opt for the apple strudel, but the line is always really long at the kiosk, so I might just get it from the CS location!! (My heritage is German, so I love German food...)

Paris, France Location: France Pavilion

• Escargot Persillade en Brioche I love these little morsels. And he's never tried escargot. Thought this would be a safe intro.
• Cabernet Short Ribs with Mashed Potatoes I can't eat mashed potatoes for some unknown reason, but I think this might be worth trying. I can eat the beef and he can eat the potatoes, right? That'd be an even split, wouldn't it??

San Juan, Puerto Rico Location: Showcase Plaza

• Guava Cookie (Panatela Masa Real ) Not sure about "guava" but I thought this one might be interesting. I don't think I've heard much about it.

Santiago, Chile Location: Showcase Plaza

• Alfajores (Dulce de Leche Cookie) Guess who put the cookies on our list? :rolleyes1 I've heard really good things about this little bugger.

Tokyo, Japan Location: Japan Pavilion

• Sukiyaki Beef Roll After seeing a picture of this, we're on the fence. It's a maybe. We might go with the tuna roll instead. We didn't put any of the other rolls on just because we have a good sushi place here and there's so much more we want to try!
• Tuna Sensation I'm on the fence about this too. It looks tasty, but it's so small. And it's not a snack credit. I think we might skip it.

Vienna, Austria Location: Germany Pavilion

• Sachertorte I don't think I've seen anything on this either, but it's chocolate cake...do I need to say any more?

Wellington, New Zealand Location: United Kingdom Pavilion

• Seared Sea Scallop with Vegetable Slaw, Lemon Oil I've heard mixed reviews about this one. We may or may not get it.
• Lamb Slider with Tomato Chutney I'm a little disappointed in the pictures I'm seeing of the lamb slider. The past two years it's been one of my favorites, but this year it looks a little greasy & sad. Might pass it up in favor of two lamb chops instead :goodvibes

Desserts & Champagne Location: Showcase Plaza

• Strawberry Shortcake
• Frozen Grand Marnier Parfait, Orange Coulis
More desserts, really...

Flavorhood — Hosted by Edy's Ice Cream Location: The Rose Walk near Imagination Walkway

A great way to celebrate the day with your family, neighbors and new friends. Pay a visit to the Rose Walk where you can purchase ice cream from the "Flavorhood". Test your "flavorology" and learn your ice cream personality among other fun activities.

The Mouse Catch Location: Showcase Plaza

• Dorothea Dutch Cheese
• Piave — Italian Cheese
• Mahon — Spanish Cheese
I love cheese, and this was one of my favorite booths last year, so we'll definitely spend a snack credit to get all three.

Walk-Abouts: Beer Hop Location: American Adventure

Celebrate the fine art of beer making when you purchase a Passport and sip amazing ales, lagers and craft beers from the best domestic and international brewers.

I didn't realize until now just how many desserts I have on the list. I doubt I'll try all of them, but probably a good portion. I do love a weird dessert. The wattleseed moose from last year was one of my favorites...no one else I was with liked it...oh well, more for me! :woohoo:

And I know the only drink I have above is the beer hop, but that's just because I think the drinks are more going to be spur of the moment, and it'll depend on how my head feels, if it's behaving, it gets tasty beverages!

We'll have 12 snack credits to use and I think we've decided anything over $4.50 we'll use a snack credit, anything less will be OOP. :teacher: That'll probably be the most economical use of the credits.

I checked in online this morning, which means only 10 days left :yay:

Looking forward to going to the F&W Festival thru your eyes since I don't know if we'll ever get there! :sad1:

Have a great trip!

Everything sounds so good!:goodvibes I cannot wait to see everything on the Dining Report I know you will do!

Here's a link to what REAL Sachertorte should be like :thumbsup2

It's a true Austrian thing and if made correctly it is devine. Unfortunately there are many copies, which just don't live up to the original. It should come with fresh whipped cream!! Oh, yum!! :cloud9:

Oh man, I wish you did F&W so that you could have tried it and let me know if it was close or not! I'll have to try it now and take lots of notes on it. But that's the best description so far, now I know what to expect!

I can't wait to read your reviews. I only got to eat about 15 or so food booth things, and didn't hit all the booths, so I'll live vicariously through you.:goodvibes The best food booth item I got was the Grilled Beef Skewer with Chimichurri Sauce and Boniato Puree at the Buenos Aires booth.:cloud9: You have to try it!

That was my favorite dish from last year, glad to hear it's good again this year!:thumbsup2
