October 2010

The thought of not going back to Disney next year makes me sad so I am desparate to book. We have looked at various costs and it seems ALOT more expensive in 2010.

I booked our 2009 holiday (5th-19th Sept POFQ + Tickets + QSDP) from VH for around £3600 - the same holiday next year is approaching £5000.

I have played with Carribean Beach or AKL and by accident I came across Conorado Springs - never considered it before but looks really nice and suited to our likes.

I can book the hotel, tickets & DDP for around £2600 for 23rd Oct - 6th Nov 2010. Having always done package deals I am slightly scared of doing things separately. I know it is subjective but:

* When is the best time to but flights for this period?
* What would be a good price for flights at this time of year?
* Is there a time when they are fully booked?
* Aside from VA & BA where else can I get flights from? (LGW departure)

I want to book the hotel now so it is secure but due to some other commitments cannot afford to pay for flights until next year.

Should I stick with the normal package so I have the security that it is all reserved for a deposit even though it costs more or am I worrying about nothing and there will be plenty of space on the flights.

I can't offer too much advice as I always book packages. However, I just wanted to say that the October flights should not be fully booked for a while yet, so I wouldn't worry about booking them later. I stayed at CSR this time by the way- it's a lovely resort and I'm sure you won't be disappointed. :)

october flights on the like of va and ba wont be out yet so no chance of them filling up yet. scheduled flights go on sale 11 months in advance from the return date

We stayed at CSR for our wedding last year and its a very large resort, alot like it but it didnt do it for us

We stayed at POFQ this year and loved it

We did DIY this year for the first time and found it so much cheaper than a package. I too cant afford to buy flights just yet and have been looking at packages but I cant bring myself to pay the extra for the same thing.

We are booking our hotel with free dining for next sept with complete orlando staying at Saratoga springs in a 1 bedroom villa and thats costing us £2400 for the villa, tickets and free dining as its still 42% off with them.

I will then look at getting flights after our twins are born in nov.

BA and VA are the only ones that fly non stop to Orlando International from Gatwick but alot of the charter like Thomas cook etc fly non stop to sanford which is around 30 mins extra outside of orlando

I am looking for flights for Oct 2010 also. I am hoping it won't be more than £1800 - £2000 for 2 Adults 2 Children but will have to wait and see. We are flying from Manchester, and I think that it's only Virgin that fly Direct from there.
We will be staying at the Sheraton Vistana for 3 weeks and will be booking that in the next couple of weeks, so it really is just the flights I need to be concerned with AND I AM CONCERNED ;)

GOODNESS ME!!!:scared1:

It looks like I am doing nothing but swear at you :lmao::lmao:

I don't know what happened there!! :rotfl:

Wow the price is a lot cheaper booking it all separately i have only ever booked a package holiday. What scares me is that a friend of mine booked separately Villa/car/flights and then cancelled and lost 800 quid in deposits :scared1: not that i would ever cancel in a million years :rotfl: but you never know whats around the corner :confused3 i might just price it up next time i book the temptation to save the pennies might be too much to pass on.

I can't believe what a foul-mouthed level the boards have sunk to :lmao:

Zippy99 - We've done DIY bookings for the past 7 or so trips. We've booked a Disney UK package (hotel and tix) for the first time for this Nov and have also booked for next October, both with free dining.

For this Nov we booked flights after we booked the package and they were £320 each with VA from Manchester. I've heard people mention that next Summer's flights seem to be more expensive, but I'm hoping to get flights for Oct 2010 for around £400 using miles+money (let's hope it works like that).
Over the past few years VA have had sales on their flights a couple of times during the year, but obviously no-one can predict what they'll do next year.

Oh, and we've stayed at CSR twice now and we loved it both times and now the rooms have been re-furbed...:cloud9: - I'm sure you'd love it.

Have you considered flying in-direct? They always seem a bit cheaper.

Thanks for the replys so far - and Orangetiggs - that is a great site to book with you mentioned.

Cannot seem to get CSR for that period - but to be honest we loved POFQ - we were originally in block 7 and I said to the lady "Really?? we are already a day late due to a cancelled flight - any chance we could get something closer?"

To my absolute delight - we were given a room in block 2 - facing the River - in fact - it was right next to the boat dock so we could stay in our room in the nice aircon until the DTD boat arrived and just nip out the room then. It will definately be a moderate we go to now just need to decide which.
